I'm grateful to God that I woke up today. Many people wanted to see today and didn't get to. I think sometimes the seemingly 'little' testimonies are sometimes overlooked because we feel that its a given. but honestly, being alive today feels like a testimony. I'm grateful to God. 🙌🏼
I was going through a rough path in my life. My health was going downhill. I'd been addicted to nicotine for as long as I could remember. I tried many times to throw them down and never pick them up again but time after time and method after method I failed until I realized that I was not depending on the very one whom said to lay our burdens at his feet. I broke down and in tears humbled myself to the Lord and prayed, "My Heavenly Father, please give me strength, for I can't do this on my own!" Crying myself to sleep and when I awoke all needs for not only nicotine but also caffeine was gone.
I ended up finding out that I had lung damage and pulmonary embolism, which was contributing to my extreme pain. After blood work, I was told that I was positive for clotting factors. I took the medication I was put on, but the pain just kept increasing, and my mobility began to fail. I asked for my medication to be switched because the side effects were unbearable but was sadly dismissed. I went to the Lord again in prayer, knowing with all my heart that he would take care of me. I took myself off the medication, continued avoiding those foods our Father said was not good for us, exercised, and prayed.
The pain left, and I began having the strength to perform my daily duties. I continued going to the Dr and getting tests. My test showed my lungs was completely healed, and my blood work showed negative for factors 2 & 5. I've always loved our Heavenly Father, but I continued thinking I could accomplish everything on my own or through man. But, the day I realized that he takes pleasure in us realizing that without him we can do nothing. He is our Fortress, He is our Redeemer, He is our Strength!
