Strange Google maps image

Hi all While looking at a Google maps image from 2008 I see what looks like a portal in the sky. I’ve looked at thousands of Google maps images from all diff years and never seen this before. What could cause this phenomenon?

Thank you!

Tell me what you see. Google is telling me it's my brain finding faces where there aren't any...

Saw a post about this on Instagram the other day and went to Google maps to see if I could find this feature on my own. I honestly can't get good with the explanation that it's an artifact from the map, or my brain seeing faces where none exist. I'm sure the fact that this spot is directly across from the tip of Antarctica is just a super-coincidence too.

Green anomaly near Queensland / New South Wales border

28°58'59.4"S 145°34'51.3"E

Found while doom scrolling along the QLD-NSW border.

This anomaly appears consistent shape, colour and general appearance at all zoom scales (until it is no longer visible) implying it is in the map and not an artefact of the system, stitching, etc.

Any ideas?

Weird Shining Object

The obvious answer would be a solar panel or a skylight, but it’s appears to be coming from the centre of a cul-de-sac. Any ideas? Location: 📌 High Legh, UK
