Mellor ii rose anvil bloodcore laces
The red on the shoe is subtle enough that the laces aren’t too much I think it really brings this pair together.

Summary:
I am documenting the timeline of a dispute with Goral & Son Ltd regarding a pre-order. After roughly a 3-month delay beyond the original estimate, the order was cancelled on May 6, 2026. On May 14, the company admitted the refund had failed and promised a manual payment by May 15. As of May 20, 2026, I still have not received the refund despite multiple missed deadlines and repeated follow-ups.
Timeline of Events:
Promise made:
“I have forwarded this onto my boss who will manually process the refund... This will be completed before tomorrow end of day.”
Current Status (20 May 2026):
Additional Context:
Around the same period, I placed a separate order directly with William Lennon, the same supplier repeatedly cited during the delays. That order was completed and delivered without issue.
For context, these are the William Lennon boots that arrived without issue during the same period:

This suggests the production capability existed and that the problems in my case were likely internal to Goral’s order handling, communication, or refund process.

Advice for Consumers:
I will update this post if the refund is received or if formal legal action becomes necessary.
TL;DR: After roughly a 3-month delay beyond the original estimate, I cancelled my Goral order and was promised a refund. Goral later admitted the refund failed and promised manual payment by May 15. As of May 20, I still have not received the money or any transaction ID confirming payment.
I want to share a recent experience with GORAL. While I can’t fault the actual craftsmanship of their shoes, their customer service and after-care are completely deceptive.
Here’s the breakdown of how they handle dissatisfied customers:
The Issue:
1: I had a sizing/comfort issue regarding the difference between their unlined SMUGS and lined WALKELY models. I left a review expressing my disappointment.
2: The "Bait": Their Marketing Manager immediately reached out via email. She was very polite, explained the lining difference, and offered to help me sort out a new order/exchange. To sweeten the deal and make up for the trouble, she promised a "kind gesture" of including thicker insoles and a pair of their Blood Core laces with my new order.
3: I genuinely appreciated this and thanked her.
The Drop: The new order arrives. The shoes fit great! But surprise... none of the promised extra items (insoles or laces) were in the box.
4:The Lie: I emailed her back to let her know the items were missing. She replied immediately, apologizing profusely for the oversight. She explicitly stated: "let me look into this now and get you sent out some today. I will be in touch with your tracking number."
The takeaway: Their support team (and specifically their Marketing Manager) uses fake gestures of gratitude and empty promises strictly as a PR tactic to appease you and prevent bad reviews in the moment. It's all BS. If you buy from GORAL, expect a good shoe, but do not expect them to honor their word if something goes wrong.
Wanted to share a frustrating experience with Goral.
I bought one of their mystery box shoes. The pair I received actually looks great, no issue there. But their sizing runs way differently than expected. I ordered my normal US9 (their UK8 equivalent) and the shoes are far too small.
I contacted customer support asking if they’d allow a simple size exchange. I even offered to pay return shipping and said I didn’t care about changing the style.
Response: mystery box items are final sale, no returns or exchanges.
I get “mystery” regarding style/color. But fit shouldn’t be part of the gamble, especially for an online-only purchase where sizing conversion is already confusing.
Feels like a missed opportunity for customer goodwill because I genuinely liked the shoes and probably would’ve bought more pairs later on.
Received my Mystery Box: Mellor II Low Top Sneakers in Mastrotto Adria Navy Leather. I’m pretty pleased with these. I wear a lot of denim and can see these going well with most of my jeans. Fit and finish is great. Comfortable right out of the box. These are my first, so I was trusting they would be true to size, and they are.
Red leather overdyed with black so as they wear and scratch they reveal the red underneath. Made by a small company in England and they can be resoled.
I also received the brown suede that others have gotten, but with the more modern sole. Works for me!
Not sure how I feel about these. They seem well made. The suede brown is fine, but shiny semi-transparent dark sole seems off.
I have been fairly lucky with mystery boxes from other brands so I was bound to get one I wasn’t immediately thrilled about. I will keep them for a bit before deciding to sell or keep.
I am guessing these are mellors?
The right foot is a little tight -- asked for wide but these seem to be regular width. I can work with them.
I just saw on here that the Buxtons are discontinued.
I pre-ordered the shoes before the first drop.....what, March 2025? and got a pair in June. Despite saying they fit like their other boots, they run larger so I sent them back for exchange. In the meantime I also bought a pair of bloodcore SMUGS which arrived on time (but have stitching issues).
Since then I've been emailing them on a monthly basis with customer services. They kept on fobbing me off with "Production issues, we'll have a batch coming in next week/next month and you'll get one" and here we are. I even made funny memes to keep it light!
I doubt anyone at the company is looking at this and even if they are I doubt they'll reply, they haven't to my last 3 (polite) emails.
Just a heads up for everyone here, If the shoes are good, you're good. If they're not you're in trouble.
Edit: I’ve been contacted by Goral and I think we’re going to have a good resolution. What they’ve said gives me some faith and I’ll keep everyone updated. It should be mentioned when things go right AND when they go wrong!

If only they were more like a Trainer, or different colour, or not full suede, or a different sole.
If one thing was different I could accept them but they just happened to give me exaclty what I don't like.
That's Gamberling. Hope every elses Mystery Box is more succesful.
