University of Kentucky GradPLUS Loan Issues
As of August 1st, 2026 financial aid awards are being posted in student accounts. There are many graduate students who have been approved for a GradPLUS loan and are considered legacy students, not seeing there awards for their GradPLUS loan in their accounts. The financial aid department is telling students they need to reapply for a GradPLUS loan because they are having a system issue. They are stating if you are a GradPLUS student who has already been approved for a GradPLUS loan to not worry about being denied if you reapply as long as you are within 180 days of your initial application. However, they cannot guarantee students they may not be denied. Many of us students have contacted the Department of Education and are being told they should be able to manually update our financial aid accounts - when they have alreay received our master of promissary notes and can utilize this as proof. This is a serious issue!
Anyone else having this problem?!
