Map Editor coming to GMA2!

Surprised nobody has mentioned it! The loading screen now mentions a map editor coming on Steam. I'm so excited for this! The devs heard that this was one of the most requested features, and they delivered. Thank you so much to the devs u/Gloinart, u/sebbesan, and u/girgo!

(I have the early access version, so some people might not be able to see this yet.)

Issues with the New Update

First of all, let me congratulate the developers on this game. It really is extraordinary.

However, in my opinion, with the most recent update the game changed for the worse.

In always viewed Grand Mountain 2 as a light pocket game where almost any phone could run it. After this new update the game is impossible to play with (I use the iPhone 16 for this purpose, so I think it is not a hardware limitation on my side, you can correct me if I am wrong).

There were aesthetic transformations in the game that make it resemble Grand Mountain 1 and made the game extra heavy and difficult to run. I played just before the new update and it was smoothly and fast. Now, every time I open it, it takes me 3 min to open the app. The last times I just quit and did something else, instead of playing it.

Once again, I am deeply thankful for the developers to have created this game, but it seems to me (an ignorant in technology) that some features were overcomplicated and the user experience got worse.

I hope you can optimise these new features. Personally speaking, if creating my own tracks ruins the remaining experience (waiting 5 min for the app to open a map), I don’t think it compensates anymore. All the best.

So, since we’re getting the editor…

I’ve been workshopping a couple of my questions.

•Is there going to be a way to play your PC created mountains on the mobile device linked to your account?

•will there be map limits when it comes to sizing?
ie. will it be hard to recreate famous mountains

•is there going to be a way to publicly download community created mountains?

•since the power of PC’s are coming into play, will this make modding possible for GMA?

•first person? (Could be cool to see Monty’s own view of the world)

•Multiplayer on community created maps?

And on a side note, for people who already bought the premium… is the game going to still have to be bought again? Or can the editor be included in the full game, meaning you could somehow link your account from your mobile device to unlock it?

I am so proud of yinz devs, and can’t wait to see this game skyrocket with the new update!
