The Shape of Water is the most recent movie to date to win the Oscar for Best Picture without winning any of its acting nominations

The only movie that won Best Picture without winning any for acting after The Shape of Water was Parasite in 2019, which didn't have any acting nominations. The Shape of Water remains the most recent to lose all of its acting nominations. Also it's the most recent movie to date to win Best Picture without winning any for acting or any for screenplay, which made it the 1st movie since Titanic in 1997 to do so. It was also the 1st since Platoon in 1986 to win Best Picture and lose both all of its acting nominations and its screenplay nomination since Titanic didn't get a screenplay nomination

Was Crimson Peak shot with digital cameras or film?

Most sources seem to say it was shot digitally, but that has never seemed quite right to me. It always felt like film, but I don't have a sure enough eye to say that confidently. I also saw what looked to me like 35mm film cameras in the behind the scenes stuff, but I'm not a camera expert. Does someone who has better cinematography knowledge than I do have the answer?

Slaughterhouse 5 by Guillermo Del Toro directing from a script by Charlie Kaufman

The first adaptation released back in 1971 was a huge flop but is now considered a cult classic. Back in the early 2010s, Guillermo Del Toro expressed interest in directing a remake of Slaughterhouse 5 but only if Charlie Kaufman wrote the script.

Who do you think should play lead character Billy Pilgrim?

Dream GDT collab?

Im a big fan of British actor Matthew Goode. In an interview, Goode mentioned that he had auditioned (and was considered) for the role of Bilbo Baggins, when Guillermo was planning to direct The Hobbit films. Obviously, that version of The Hobbit didn't work out, and we got Peter Jackson's films.

Now, as much as I like watching Matthew Goode, Im happy The Hobbit went in the direction it did, as Martin Freeman was perfect for Bilbo, but it got me thinking about what a GDT/Goode collaboration could look like. I can definitely see Goode in a GDT gothic noir or graphic novel adaptation. In fact, Goode has played a lot of roles that would've been perfect in a GDT film- vampires, super villian, blood-thirsty Scotsman, uptight British gentleman...

Who do YOU want to see in a GDT masterpiece??
