Live gig with NAM A2 Player

Last live gig was also a great real-world test for NAM A2 Player — and this time I used it as part of my actual live setup, not just at studio.

The setup was simple: guitar → audio interface → iPhone → NAM A2 Player → PA, with the iPhone handling my guitar tone. No traditional amp, no large pedalboard, just a compact digital rig.

What mattered most was how it behaved in a real live environment: stability, latency, responsiveness and, of course, the sound through the PA. Everything worked exactly as expected throughout the gig. The response felt natural while playing, the setup was easy to manage, and having my tones available directly on the iPhone made the whole rig incredibly convenient - using the M-Vave Chocolate Plus to control the whole setup.

Developing an app is one thing. Taking it on stage, plugging in your guitar and actually relying on it for a live performance is something completely different.

NAM A2 Player passed the live test. 🎸

SoundShed Guitar and Air-G... OMG

Unbelievable tone. I'm just stunned. I've been LOVING SoundShed Guitar, NAM, VST, Backing tracks, NAM browsing... it's amazing. I also have liked "Air-Windows" free plugins but they are very confusing to use efficiently because of their lack of GUI, Well Air-G is a GUI for AirWindows and WOW!!!. I've been inspired to play out of my mind for hours because of the ridiculously great tone I am getting. Last night I was tone crafting and found that using AirWindows EQ peddle vis Air-G interface is fantastic. I was running it in front of the amp as an EQ for my input signal (guitar) and was working well. Then I decided to drag it to the end of the chain before the final reverb and WOW, i can shape my tone perfectly. I have tones better than I imagined, so perfect. Many good NAM captures with this setup are so dynamic. If I play soft it gets cleaner and smoother, dig in and it has bit, hammer it and it's full blown Marshall or whatever you have EQ'ed for for. I'm blown away and have been playing over my head for several hours sessions. Then add the Air-G Distrortion and OMG, pretty my any tone is avalible from slightly pushed to EVH. Works fantastic on both clean and driven amps. Is not over the top but for me near perfect. Using the Push, Drive and Mix knobs you can get about anything. Then use the EQ shown above to contour it to your liking / guitar. WOW.

Someone Called this DEMO A.I generated 🤯

I’ve been playing with the Helix Stadium Native -and I wanna share my thoughts

The best gear is the one you've actually mastered. 🎸
Here's a clip I just uploaded — Helix Stadium Native is new but I’ve been in this Ecosystem since it was launched.

Instead of ranting about A2, I decided to just play. Haha 😆

I’m running into the Agora Amp (specifically the Fender Princeton / US Princess model). I've been dialing this tone in for a while now, and honestly? It sounds ridiculous. Warm, responsive, and sits perfectly in the mix.

I know there's been a lot of heat in here about A2 lately — some of it valid, some of it... a lot. I get the frustration, and I get why the Line 6 fanboys (myself included)are fired up too. But honestly? I'm over the noise.

The gear doesn't matter if you haven't put in the hours. This tone is proof of that.

Check it out and let me know what you think — and hey, if you hate it, that's cool too. Just make sure you've actually tried dialing it in yourself first. 😉
I also have a few Helix stadium TIPS too for later

irio pro is now available!!!

irio pro is in the app store!!!

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6791682190

hej there,

I’m proud to report that irio pro v1.0.0 is online now!!!

What I began some years ago as a nerdy project for myself, has turned into much more over time. I used to build and design my own schematics and pcbs for analog pedals and rig solutions under my brand „nørholm“, and what started as a multiple convolution IR loader for my FX setup has evolved into a much deeper project over time – even starting to replace some of my analog gear in my setup.

irio pro is a modular effects canvas for iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Mac.

You place modules on a canvas and patch them together with cables, with no fixed order, as many as you like, as long as your cpu can handle it there are no real limits for crazy setups — split the signal, run two, three, five, six modules side by side, feed the left side of a reverb into a delay, the right side to a different output on you interface… or three... Run a vocal chain in parallel... It runs on its own or as an AUv3 plugin inside your DAW or inside apps - like Loopy Pro.

have a look -> https://iriopro.com

In the final stages a lot of people were on the apple TestFlight with me, and the feedback was genuinely great. You found things I never would have caught on my own, suggested great ideas, and the app has evolved a lot because of you. Thank you so much for all your help!!! I really appreciate it :)

I will keep working on irio – the project started out as an idea of something I would have always liked to have for myself – now it’s starting to replace a lot of my other gear… and others seem to like it too, so I will continue to improve on that idea. There is some cool new stuff already in the pipeline.

Check it out if you like – and I’m happy to answer questions and receive feedback :)

Hello! Try out our NAM app!

Look, we know, it’s the n-th app you’ve seen that integrates NAM A2. But hey, maybe this flavour is for you!

Quick introduction: Me and my buddy are university students (physics and IT engineering), and we made an app for iOS named Gateway Pro (original huh?) that satisfies our needs, considering the limited time we have to practice.

Features: It’s an fx suite with a few unique features such as up to 4 parallel signal paths with optional Linkwitz-Riley crossover (splits your signal into frequency bands), audio unit loader for importing your own AUv fx, MIDI functionality and other stuff, but what’s cool about it is the live mode, comprised of metronome, a handy scene view, a playlist mode and a setlist mode. The point of these is to load your backing tracks into playlists or setlists, the difference being that playlists just play the backing tracks in order without changing presets or scenes, whereas the setlist mode does. The point of this is efficient practice, having specific playlists with various workouts and/or repertoires.

Most important of all: the tone curve. Reacts to your playing, completely useless, looks rad, can be deactivated.

We’re offering a 48h free trial without having to enter any card info, and we’re looking for feedback, so the first 15 people who pm me with opinions, possible improvements and critiques gets a key to unlo the app for free (lifetime, we don’t do subscriptions). Thank you all for reading and we hope the app is something you’ll enjoy!

EDIT: as someone pointed out, our the app’s name is misleading. We will be changing it shortly, and apologise for the mistake. I also want to thank everyone for their valuable feedback, as it is helping us fill the potholes we missed during development.

EDIT 2: following the suggestions of our users, we have rolled out an update tackling several concerns users had with the app.

- name changed to AmpGate pro in order to avoid confusion

- UI optimised for vertical viewing

- added sync to the modulation

- plugins in the auv3 loader are now sorted by developer

- general ui and ux improvements, especially on smaller screens

- improved input and output meter ballistics and readability

- fixed a bug that caused menus to display incorrectly on smaller screens

- improved ui’s smoothness on some devices and fixed issues that caused some au plugins to not be displayed correctly

- fixed various graphical bugs

-other stuff I’m probably forgetting

Completely free NAM loader for iOS, out now!

Hello everyone! We are the devs of AmpGate Pro, and we’re happy to introduce you to AmpGate. As AmpGate Pro’s little cousin, it doesn’t come with any of its bells and whistles. It’s a simple instance of NAM capable of running A2 models with a ui we find intuitive (and fun to look at) and a nice integrated browser.

Comes in both standalone and auv3 format
