After buying G-Shocks and Apple Watches for years, I finally got into automatic watches and boy, am I ever hooked now. Got me a nice Hamilton to start my collection.
Big thank you to my wife for this beautiful 3-year anniversary gift! ❤️
[question] Just bought a Hamilton khaki field mechanical what’s next?!
In my 30s bourbon was my hobby and now about to turn 40 I believe watches will be a new hobby for myself. I picked up a Hamilton khaki field mechanical (black dial), Tissot Gentleman (blue dial), and a Longines spirit (white dial) all 40mm. The 38-40mm seems to be what I enjoy the look and feel of most. I’ve posted before about looking to make my first big watch purchase (under 5k). What are some watches I should be looking to add to my collection?
Khaki Field Auto 42mm Anti Reflective Pics for Reference
It’s a beautiful day and I have my first Hamilton and I wanted to show some pictures of the lack of AR. In the sun at all angles I find the watch to be easily legible, and have not had a negative experience from the lack of AR.
First Hamilton
Loving it more than I expected to, don’t want to take it off.
The watch that fits like my favorite pair of blue jeans
I’ve added and sold quite a few watches over the years, but my Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic 38mm keeps proving why it’s considered a modern classic.
The dial is incredibly easy to read at a glance, the case proportions are just about perfect for my wrist, and it disappears once it’s on.
I recently added a Sinn 556i RS to the collection and absolutely love it, but if you asked me which watch is easier to live with every day, I’d probably point to the Hamilton.
It isn’t trying to impress anyone. It just does everything well.
Sometimes the best watch in the collection isn’t the most expensive or the most technically impressive—it’s the one you naturally reach for when you’re heading out the door.
For me, that’s the Hamilton.
New Strap Day
From CNS straps. Nice enough quality for the price.
How about this aviation model from Hamilton? Some obsolete complications you say? Wel… yes… That’s not the point. It’s just the coolest watch 💪👍🏻
Bought myself a Murph from Trifecta Watches and it came with this note I wanted to share
I bought myself a Murph in 38mm for my 40th birthday back in April from trifectawatches.com and I just had to share this nice note that came with it. The note reads:
Ricardo, When I saw your order for the Murph come across my desk, I had to smile. I wear a Hamilton every day, and I will tell you why.
A couple years ago, I looked at a Hamilton 1948 railroad watch in an antique store. It was more money than I was willing to spend, but a couple weeks later, it showed up as a birthday gift from my father-in-law. It was one of the nicest gifts I will ever get, and I wear it in my jeans pocket every day. It is nearly 80 years old, and it runs better than many of my brand new watches. I hope you have the same luck.
So, wear that Murph daily and I know you will many compliments (sic). It is a handsome field watch, so there is no reason to baby it. Have fun with it, and we will hope to hear from you again, soon.
Best in timekeeping,

p.s. Have you seen the movie Interstellar?
Mark, if you’re reading this, thank you so much for the note and I’m incredibly happy with my purchase! It’s a beautiful watch that gets a ton of wrist time.
As it so happens, Interstellar is a huge part of why I’ve wanted a Murph for so long. I saw it at a very special time in my life with a very special person and every time I look down at my wrist and see the watch it takes me back to that time and place.
Anyways, that’s it. I thought it was a great gesture that I wanted to share with you all.
Time For A Change
Broke in the original strap (unpopular option - I REALLY dislike it) and I ended up with this choice of a replacement. WatchGecko quick release “Patina Green” genuine leather.
1979 Military Issue
Was given this watch along with a couple others when my Grandfather passed away. He was a Colonel in the US Army. As far as I know everything is original. I need the second hand repaired. Would this be worth sending to Hamilton or should I take it to a watch repair specialist? I live in the Houston area so if anyone has a good place they can recommend I would greatly appreciate it.

Any Scuba owner with patina (bronze) ?
I have an itch already to have something in bronze. I know the khaki field by Hamilton and there are many pictures / videos of it with patina but I struggle to find something about the Navy Scuba. I think a diver suits better the "marine" aesthetics of bronze rather than a field. I have also other brands in my radar but I thought I'd ask here about this Hamilton in particular in case somebody owns it.
Cheers to 250 years!
I wear this watch every day, but I also wore it today. Happy 4th of July everyone!
Slight mark on new watch
I just bought a H64455133 and noticed a small mark on the case when I got home. Is it worth taking it back? What would you do?
Which one would you wear for 250th USA Anniversary?

Casual alternatives to mesh?
I’ve had my intra-matic chrono for about 4 years now. It hasn’t been getting as much wrist time lately and I wanted something a little more casual as an alternative to the mesh, which I do love.
Are these TOO casual?
Black strap is a rubber Barton strap. The beige is some Ali express rubber sailcloth style strap.
