WIP Engraving portrait

Wanted to share the progress on my first human portrait since May. It’s been wrapped in plastic with moist fabric and keeping it less than leather hard. I’m learning traditional hand engraving lessons from Marlen Hazel and applying them to greenware clay (pre bisque).

Learning a lot going through the processes and trying to avoiding “ego cuts”. Highly recommended her channel although it is not about ceramics at all.

From sketch to finished watch – Hand engraving a Rolex Daytona

I wanted to share one of my recent projects.
This Rolex Daytona was completely hand engraved from a design I created myself. Every scroll pattern was first drawn digitally, then transferred and cut entirely by hand using traditional engraving techniques.
The bracelet, clasp and case sides were engraved to create a consistent flowing composition while preserving the original character of the watch.
Thanks for taking a look. I’d love to hear your thoughts
