I’ve always loved the way Isayama wrote Hange. In the AOT world everyone fears the titans and hates them because they were pretty much man eating creatures but their character really shows us that if you don’t understand something go and research it. Hange genuinely is fascinated by titans and drowns themselves into intensive research about creatures humanity hates and that’s what makes them so compelling. They genuinely don’t see titans with pure hatred but at the same time Hange gets the job done. They don’t let their fascination with titans get in the way of protecting humanity. I mean Hange was litr like “titans are truly marvellous” before killing them to ensure everyone escapes. Many a times I kept forgetting they don’t have an established backstory that is explicitly shown in the anime (as to how they joined the survey corps and why exactly or maybe this is touched upon more in guidebooks or the manga) but yeah. i just love Hange so much i had to get this out.
