B25 Beton or Craei

Hi everyone! I’m currently debating whether to put a B25 in Beton or Craie on my wishlist. I absolutely love light neutrals, but I’d love to hear from anyone who owns a lighter-colored Birkin. How has your experience been with maintenance and wear over time? Do colors like Craie or Beton tend to yellow, transfer color easily, or show marks quickly? They’re so beautiful, but I’m a little worried about keeping the bag looking fresh long term. Would really appreciate any advice, photos, or experiences you can share 🤍

I was offered a blue box - Birkin HAC Relier 40. Yes I took it home.

It's a stunner. My first birkin. (We've bought others from Hermès for my wife, but this is *my* first). Evergrain 89 (black) leather. You can see the veining on the front, It's subtle but there.

New to buying Hermes reps? What has changed in a year! QC, reviews, sellers...

A year ago I was writing about the problems of the Hermes rep market. Today I can say it's gotten worse. Not better, not the same. Worse. And here's specifically what has changed.....

There are more sellers and quality has dropped. A year ago there were fewer active names on Reddit. Now new sellers appear every week. A name of 3 - 4 letters, hundreds of reviews in a month, stories about exclusive factories. The scheme is refined to automaticity. But more sellers doesn't mean more choice, it means more people buying from the same factories and reselling with a 300% markup. Competition between them is not on quality but on marketing. The winner is whoever inflates reviews better, not whoever makes better bags!

AI changed the game, not in your favor. A year ago I was accused of using AI to write posts because they sounded too good, as they still do now, all because I always do this from the heart, personally myself. But now when all of Reddit is flooded with these "expert posts," every Chinese bought account writes dozens of posts a day using AI without even trying, it became clear what AI garbage actually looks like. Fake expert posts were written clumsily with errors, you could tell the person didn't know the topic well. Moreover these sellers now answer questions with AI too, if a year ago I gave advice on what questions you can ask a seller to expose them, now they use AI in100% of cases. And if they simply copy text that's one thing but some "particularly clever" ones just take information and write it back to you in their own words, they have plenty of time since they don't produce bags, their job is to sit on Reddit and find clients to sell bags they'll buy at the market near their home in Guangzhou.

Have photos gotten better? Before sellers used other people's photos but now this has become very widespread, moreover they even use photos of originals like the well known seller with names of 3-4 letters, one of whom was already caught taking photos of originals, or rather people who wrote "reviews of his work" attached photos from trusted resale platforms where authentic Hermes Birkins and Kellys are resold. Of course these reviews are written by him and his team. If you pay attention to certain subreddits that publish content on the topic of Hermes reps, you can notice that QC there is always from the same sellers! And if you try to post your own seller in one of those subs, even a made up one, your post will not pass moderation 100%because it's already obvious to everyone how the review and recommendation system works in the Hermes rep market on Reddit. You can't trust any of them!

Prices went up, quality didn't. The average price of a rep from Reddit sellers has gone up over the year. Sellers explain this with inflation, rising material costs, the dollar exchange rate. In reality the purchase price at factories has risen insignificantly. The seller's markup has risen. You're paying more for the same or worse.
The same factories make the same quality for years. They have no desire to make it better, their only goal is to make more! And then using fake QC and reviews to sell you this garbage.

A year ago bought reviews were relatively obvious, new accounts, short history, cookie-cutter texts. Now they buy accounts with history, with varied activity, sometimes with years of Reddit presence. I've even seen accounts that are 10 - 13 years old that are obviously bought! Yes it's expensive, but when you're charging 1500-2000 for a bag worth 300why not spend 200-300 on such an account? Easy! New sellers who want to work honestly and sell goods at reasonable prices have an incredibly hard time breaking through among this deception and the weight of names that as you already understood belong to sellers of 3 - 4 letters. But I will continue doing my thing and telling the truth day after day so that sooner or later there will be more people who understand this market and these sellers, scammers, who sell you Hermes Birkin and Kelly of no quality, will stop operating.

How to get a Garden Party in Epsom leather

I want to buy a GP 36. I heard it’s a non-quota bag , easier to get than birkin and kelly and doesn’t need pre-spend if you’re lucky. But the problem is I want a it in Epsom leather. I rarely see posts about how to get a GP in that type of leather. Can I just go in the store and ask , or I still have to make pre-spend and build relationship SA ?.

I love my Garden Party30

I purchased this gorgeous girl in London but wasn’t sure I would use her often as she does t have a shoulder strap. I added a dainty chain (from another bag). It adds a little character and a short term function. I won’t carry her like that often - but a short term trying to juggle things , this solves the problem

Paris Hermes

I’m in Paris next week and this time I want to make sure I get matched with a good SA.
Any suggestions from people who know this game please help.
I was there in October at FSH and was lucky to get two walk in appointments but no bags. The SA did ask if I wanted any other bags and I said no. Maybe I was foolish but I could have gotten a picotin. I do love the SO Kelly or Moove but the SA laughed and said “ any other besides the Kelly family” she also appreciated the fact that I was very sure of what I wanted.
I want to not spend my days wasting time at the stores. I want to go pick a few things I need but I wanna be matched with an SA I can keep shopping with.
Also what are the other bags you all are loving? Would love to know.
Thank you

What do the numbers inside the box lids mean?

Ok, silly question… yes, I did try searching and nothing really comes up with a useful explanation.

I’ve always wondered what the numbers printed on the inside lid, lip of the box cover mean? They’re going through the effort and slight expense of printing them there, so I assume it must be for a reason.

Just curious if anybody knows; would love the mystery solved.

This happens to be on the inside lid of a behapi bracelet box. All my others have the same numbers, but a box for one I picked up in Paris back in 2016 has different numbers (not sure if it matters, but older box design and it’s a behapi triple-tour while my others are all double-tour).

For reference, the “591*” is for the 2016 triple-tour from Paris and the “1234*” is from my double-tour bracelets circa 2022 through 2023 from the Miami flagship Boutique in the Design District.

Many thanks in advance!

Started my Hermès journey overseas — questions about SA etiquette

I accidentally started my Hermès journey overseas at a SEA boutique while travelling, and my SA has honestly been so lovely. Over a couple of visits I picked up a handful of things — sandals, scarves, a belt, etc. They also happened to have a Picotin 18 in Etoupe GHW available, which of course came home with me 😅

I’ll be flying back there again in a couple of weeks and am planning to purchase a few more things. I also expect I’ll be back again towards the end of the year for more shopping as well, since I travel there fairly often now.

Would it be alright to text my SA beforehand to ask if she could get a couple of items ready for me / hold stock if available? Or is that considered too pushy?

Also wondering about gifts for SAs — I was thinking of bringing some snacks or pastries from my country for her and maybe to share with her colleagues. Is that generally acceptable/appreciated, or better not to?

Insurance

Does anyone use private insurance for their bags? I know I can’t be the only one pondering this and I’m sure there’s many of you who have insured your items!! I talked with my homeowners coverage and they stated this would need to be separate!

Thank you in advance :)

Question about a purchase

Hi everyone! I’m still kinda new to the whole Hermès world and honestly still trying to understand the “Hermès game,” so I’d love to hear your opinions and experiences.
I recently got offered my very first bag from Hermès, and it was a Constance 18 in I got it in a seasonal mauve-rose tone (RMS). I ended up purchasing it because I genuinely loved the color and the bag itself, but now I’m wondering if accepting a Constance as my first offer was a good move strategically or not.
I’ve read so many different things online — some people say taking non-B/K quota bags helps build the relationship, while others say it doesn’t necessarily impact future offers much. Since I’m still learning how all of this works, I’m curious what you all think.
Would you consider this a strong first offer? And do you think accepting it helps positively in the long run if I eventually hope for a Kelly or Birkin someday?
Thank you! :)

Hermès White Bus - is it gulliver?

Just got this and was wondering if this is gulliver? The description said “swift” but this isn’t swift. Also the colour said “ebène”, do you think that’s accurate? Thank you in advance!
