84 ATC200 won't start

Hey all,

At my wits end here. My machine ran great, then it sat for a few years.

Before I tried to start it again I decided to rebuild the stock carb. When I'd try to start it, only way I could get it to even try to start was with the throttle cracked a bit.

I wasn't confident in my carb rebuild so I replaced it with a chinese carb, I have a new plastic tank and a new petcock.

The new carb has the exact same problem, regardless of choke setting, only starts with throttle cracked and will run for about 5 seconds then die immediately.

I tried messing with the idle but seems to be the same.

Any idea where I should go from here?

1974 ATC 70 rear fender question

My dad has an 1974 atc 70 that his mom bought new and the rear fenders are in pretty rough shape. I was curious if anyone here might know if there is a company that makes aftermarket fenders for the early models like they do for the later models? I found some used ones on eBay but people are asking a little much for them in my opinion.

I'm done. This is the one

I had at one time owned 4 atcs: 185,200s,200m, big red and this. I got this last week and I'm done. The 200s is more or less now a parts machine. The 200m is purring and running strong. But this one...this SX, is a lot of fun. It needs a few things - brake cable, reverse cable, two broken bolts at front axle case removed, and battery - but it starts first pull if I ride it daily or 5-6x a week.

The rest are sold. I am officially done.

My first Honda trike.

It's a turd but it runs, rips, slides and stops! Changed out the giant 25" tires for 20" inch holeshots and some aluminum wheels off a newer Honda fourwheeler. Looks much better and I like the way it rides so much more now.

Is this worth buying and rebuilding?

I have the opportunity to buy this. It probably needs a top end at least, as the compression feels pretty weak when kicking it over. Transmission condition unknown. I assume cables, bushings, fuel lines, seals, carb etc will need to be gone through. Looks like a great project but I’m unsure of the what I should pay for it. Any insight on this is welcome! What would you pay for it?

ATC200X front “top hat” bushing

There are bushings on the front axle that limit the amount of room the front wheel/tire can move left to right. I’m missing the bushing on the left hand side (side opposite of the brake rotor)

I want to cut one on the lathe at work, does anyone know the dimensions for length, diameters, etc for this bushing? Or if someone has a technical drawing I’d mega appreciate it!!

Time for new tires or send it?

These were temporary ones I put on just to roll it around the shop. Got it running today and I think I might have ripped it a little bit too hard.

Update #4

Decided not to paint the forks/headlight/tank. I may do that later. I am glad the tank is in decent shape and no rust. I have seen how expensive and hard to find OEM tanks are. The top engine mount is partially broken but seems to be good enough to hold in place. The other mounting points are in great condition. I used caliper paint on the engine and it turned out good. Not the best paint job but I am not going for a show model.

Anyone know the Ring gap for 52.75 oversize piston? Atc 110

After getting my cylinder back from bore, the piston kit i received came with rings gapped at .028 (.70mm). The stock 52 piston gap range is .004 - .010. So .028 seems way over even with the piston being bigger than stock.

200X oil leak

This 200x didn’t leak oil before, started it for 2 seconds on starting fluid, now it leaks out of what I assume is the rear engine mount. Anyone have any advice or suggestions??
