Hi all. Just purchased today a 2003 VTX1800R and i would like to add a batwing with stereo and speakers installed already. where could i find?
Hey all! Just a quick update for ya, i posted here on sunday about a throttle hesitation issue that is fairly common on these bikes and got a lot of comments from people who are either currently dealing with the same problem, so i figured id post an update and show you all what fixed it!
So, we took the carburetor back off, stripped it back down and started checking the flow of the fuel delivery channels throughout, and found that the slow jet channel was a *little* clogged so, we cleaned that out with some break clean and took some thin wire to run through to try and scrape any gunk. We then inspected *everything,* pulled everything off to clean it out. Choke, fuel line to check the filter (clean) and then we removed the air mixture screw. We found what used to be an O-ring completely flattened and destroyed, which was likely causing a bit of a vacuum leak and making it virtually ineffective, so we replaced it. We put everything back together, got the tank back on, and started her, and let me tell you, she has never run better. We messed witb the idle a bit more (mixture screw now actually affecting the mix) and weve been out on a ride for the past 2 hours now! Currently eating dinner and were back on the road home to get her washed up.
So if youre dealing with the same throttle hesitation issue, please check all of your seals and channels, and i wish you all the best!!
TLDR; Air mixture screws O-ring was flattend and slow jet channel was a little clogged, start there but, your mileage may vary!
Hey all, so, were at a bit of a loss here currently. About a year or two ago, my bike (2007 VTX 1300R) was running fine and all of a sudden started having throttle issues, if i gave it too little throttle if would just choke out and die, but if i crank throttle hard it goes fine. It sat for a while and recently we figured we would try and get it running again. Now, keep in mind, thos bike drove all the way from florida to washington in 2023, and did have some issues like cracked diaphram and missing bushings here and there but weve gone through and rebuilt the carburetor, spent multiple hours messing with the air and fuel mix to try and get it idling fine but its still running too lean and dies immediately, as seen in the video. I just wanted to toss this out there to see if anyone can point us in the right direction to some kind of answer so i can get this beauty back on the road.
Hello
So, i bought my first 1300 back in 2010 and then had to sell it circa 2022…
In 2025 I bought another 1300.. And it stopped starting.. And I dropped my jaw when I found out that they actually had fuel pumps on 2023 model. I want to get rid of the pump and route the hose straight to the carb. Any suggestions/concerns I should be aware of before I proceed? Thanx
Has anyone rebuilt and or done upgrades on there 1800 engine?
The windshield was super sun faded and I could see through it anyway so I painted it black. I think it gives the old Honda a more modern look.
I bought my buddies 2002 1800C and I’m a short rider. I have problems reaching the lower controls on it. Someone showed me a picture of theirs with floor boards they put on and I realized his were much farther backwards and different. Can anyone tell me if these are aftermarket to send them forward and how I can find some factory controls?
I see them for $50-150 on ebay and other online stores
