Beanie Dust Removal

I was given a collection of beanies that came from the home of a hoarder. The beanies are adorable but their surfaces are covered in layers of dust from sitting for years. Any recommendations on removing the dust in a safe manner while preserving the beanie? Anyone experience this? All feedback appreciated. Here is an example.

Stored paint in fridge, smell won’t go away

My sanity is slowly slipping away from this debacle! My partner and I were painting our house recently and stored leftover paint (covered) in the fridge to use in the following day/s.

The issue is, now that we’re done and the fridge smells entirely of paint fumes and the smell has penetrated 90% of our food which has had to be thrown out 😭.

We’ve taken everything out, wiped it down, used vinegar, bicarb, turned it off and had a fan blowing on it directly for a couple of hours, washed down the seals with warm soapy water and STILL the smells persists.

Any and all ideas are so so welcome 🥹🥲😭 thanks guys!

Clean your dishwashers

Canada- My family in law have never cleaned their dishwasher (obvs) and I decided I'd clean it as a gesture of kindness.

I decided to wrap it up after cutting into it and getting a foul smell. Now I'm worried I might have been smelling some toxic or something really bad for me. My left sinuses feel strange to be honest. I stopped and turned on a hot cycle with vinegar, food catcher off. To be honest the dishwasher is stinking.

I haven't touched it and was wondering what people would recommend to deal with it.

The filter is still on in the back but it looks like black stuff built up on it... I didn't take a photo but I could or a second opinion?

Dirt on iPhone tether

I’ve washed it with soap and water and soaked it and got frustrated and replaced it once but is there something I could do to keep it longer. I got suggested alcohol but I don’t wanna do that unless it’s gonna not wreck it.

i found a snail in my wardrobe/closet.

i have been in my room all day painting and cleaning and just as i finished i took a break. watched a tv show and relaxed, then i went for a relaxing hot bath to chill out. i came out feeling fresh and ready for bed, but apparently the world thinks i should be doing the opposite.

tell me why i come back in and discover a fucking snail in my wardrobe, that contains all of the clothes i had just washed not even 6hrs ago, tell me why i now feel the need to deep clean and/or get rid of every clothing item including the wardrobe or just get rid of every mf item in general.

i am still currently sat disgusted, in a towel, debating on what step i shall take next and where do i even start as its currenty 23:18PM, and not only do i have no time or energy to deep clean and wash all of my clothes 10 times before i will feel the slightest bit comfortable but i also have work tommorow at 4pm and have a family member coming to help me paint at 11am.

i cant even call in sick for work as im still a trainee, not to mention the fact i still stay with my parents so i cant do 20 washing cycles until atleast 10am before they even wake up, and i cant even bring myself to go to bed incase i discover a slimy snail trail in my covers.

my job is also very pressuring so i cant even stay up all night and drink 6 extra strong coffee's, i genuinley feel violated, disgusted, and sick, tell me why also after 3 coats of paint on each wall i can now smell a lingering potent cigarette ash smell coming from them, im honestly so exhausted and cant be fucked with this bs not today, not tommorow, not ever.

anyways rant over but please people reccomend cleaning tips on how to get rid of a cigarette ash smell from my NEWLY painted walls and on how to clean snail trail without vomiting violently, major clean freak here and this is a case that idek how to handle.

I deep cleaned my fridge

It was NASTY. I didn’t think to get a pic cos I just was riding the motivation that randomly popped up today. The bottom drawer had something spoil and leak under it, but the location made me not able to pull the drawer out cos the fridge door was in the way… I just left it. For MONTHS, maybe a year. Whatever it was grew and smelled and the one time I maneuvered under the drawer, I realized it was just an inch of solid nastiness. But I couldn’t wipe it up and had no idea how to even attempt to clean it , I just walked away . It became the thing I ignored like it would magically fix itself. The rest of the fridge got pretty gross too since I was kinda just ignoring it. I’ve been pretty sick over the last 2yrs, it’s been difficult living alone. I was considering hiring someone to come do it, it became that big of a thing in my head, just so overwhelming I was frozen. I’m sure you understand.

I don’t know why today was the day except that my chronic illness seems to be on the upswing finally after the last year of med changes n treatments. I was going to order my groceries this am, and told myself I just could NOT put anymore food in there until it’s cleaned. The smell had gotten so bad i would notice it right when I walked into the kitchen, not just when I opened the fridge door.

Some of the shelves are drying still, and the bottom drawer is still soaking in the tub BUT the top shelf is back in, fridge was only off for an hour, then I got everything back in and I had to use a spatula and literally chop and chip and scrape at the hard chunk of whatever at the bottom. But it’s finally clean. There was not a lot to save, expired condiments ect all got tossed. I’ll put it all back together tomorrow and celebrate by ordering my groceries. I even brought out 3 trash bags to the dumpsters.

Thanks for reading this, I just needed to share where people would understand.
