Foster pup Sebastian turns 1 and hasn’t had a single inquiry yet—hoping to change that tonight 🐾🎂

I volunteer with DAR&E and I’ve been fostering a 1 yr old Doberman named Sebastian. Tomorrow is his birthday, and honestly I’m feeling a little emotional about it because he hasn’t had a single adoption inquiry yet!

He is genuinely one of the easiest dogs I’ve ever worked with:

  • great with kids, people, and other dogs
  • crate trained
  • walks beautifully on a leash
  • sweet, social, and very people-oriented
  • just wants to be near you and included

I can’t figure out why he’s being overlooked, and I’m hoping maybe the right person just hasn’t seen him yet.

To help him get a little visibility, I’m setting up a small awareness table tonight at Texas Roadhouse in Columbia from 6–8pm for his birthday. If you’re local and want to meet him, please feel free to stop by and say hi.

There will also be a small fundraiser running 3–10pm where showing this flyer at your table helps support DAR&E and the dogs in our care (and yes, a portion goes toward birthday treats for Sebastian too 🎉).

If you can’t come out, even just sharing him would mean a lot. He’s really a good boyI just want someone to finally see him.

Dog attacked in Elkridge, Belmont station.

My dog and I were attacked yesterday at 830 pm at Belmont Stationed by a dog whose owner was walking them without a leash. Stitches needed with a $860 dollar vet bill.

Dog was possible a pit/retriever mix, blonde short course hair, red collar.

Owner was 6'2" or taller, mid 20's to early 30's, possibly of Indian descent, no accent heard, lighter complexion and dark hair.

Owner offered to share contact information, but then asked what he should do. I told him to put the damn leash on because another dog was about to come around the corner, and that I'd be back downstairs after getting my dog somewhere safe.

After a quick look over, I went back down and he had left. I havent seen the man or this dog around here before, but tbf I wasnt paying attention.

If anyone knows anyone matching this description in the area, please DM me, the last thing I want to do is file a police report and possibly get this dog put down if all he needs is a competent and responsible owner.

In-Person Dating Events

Hi everyone. I (25F) live in Howard County and would like to prioritize meeting people in person rather than on dating apps. I wanted to crowdsource to find events other than typical speed dating and happy hours. Also, I’m looking for suggestions other than going to bars since they’re not my scene. I’m interested in both men and women in their mid to late 20s through early 30s. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Do you think having the Libertarian Party on the ballot in Howard County is a positive or a negative? Some would argue that having a viable third party on the ballot gives voters more choices. Others would argue that third parties can act as spoilers in close elections. What do you think?

ATTENTION: Rezoning attempt along Triadelphia Road

Developers are attempting to force a cluster of 26 detached homes for a 55+ community on 24 acre lot along the 12000 block of Triadelphia Road. This development will have a shared well and septic. Western HoCo - be concerned!!! If this is allowed - I imagine other developments of this kind will follow! Also - Howard General Hospital’s Emergency Room is already a DISASTER! How is adding a cluster of 55+ homes a good idea without adding a hospital to the county. The hearing on the rezoning is happening now.
