So I’ve over time gathered a list of my top favorite Hozier songs across everything he’s made since debut, and I’m curious about y’all’s favorites as well!

ill go first:

1: Movement (W,B!)

The instruments and climax are a huge hit on me, especially the lyrical genius of this piece. absolutely love everything about this song, couldn’t be more perfect and the best song of his in my opinion 👌

2: Through Me (The Flood) (UU)

The chorus and build up for this song is ablsolutelt mesmerizing. I can’t help but sing along not with him but the little lyric gaps in between of mixed lines from the song just in different sections. It all sounds SO GOOD :))))

3: Arsonists Lullaby (Self Titled)

This song touched a part of myself that I didn’t even know was there! It made me feel so different with its meaning and what’s behind it, oh my god it just hits so different the older I get, ya know? It just feels so real to me and my head is constantly pounding each time the chorus builds, LOVE IT.

4: Talk, Be (W,B!)

Now, I consider these two songs as one song practically, because these two back to back in wasteland baby is such a bop and I didn’t even notice they weren’t the same song, it just kinda kept going for me and I love both of them the same, so they’re both 4. The little beatboxing he does in the back of talk I absolutely ADORE, and Be just has such a strong impact of each time he says it in a progressive size of tone. BEAUTIFUL.

5: De Selby (UU)

yup, another two songs being combined as one but honestly these two just make sense. part one I researched the Gaelic lyrics of, which put me in such a trance even after seeing it live (on video, unfortunately) then the continuation into part 2 with that GORGEOUS bass line and background vocals OH MY GOD I COULD DIE.

Anyways, that’s my personal ranking, lemme know about yours!

Currently clutching First Time and All Things End close to my heart. Any other ones that fit the bill?

Or any non-Hozier ones. Rage and heartbreak have their place but I'm really looking for the soft ones.

How do I describe to my partner (or anyone) the depth in which Unknown speaks to my soul! It’s such a devastatingly beautiful song and being unknown in any relationship when you realize it truly feels like treachery. However it is the most beautiful thing to be known. The process of getting to really know someone and learning to love them is such a human experience. My favorite moments are when I feel like I’m connecting on deeper levels learning about them and I feel so loved and safe when they take the time to really see me. I’ve shared this song with them, I have a tattoo as well and still I feel like nothing does it justice🥲

I adore this song so much. I am just now getting into his music because of the bf. We are 32 and 34, and have been together 4 years now. I am kind of bummed it took me so long to get into him lol. But he had me add the 'work song' to my phone recently so we could listen to it in the car. He said this is how he feels about me , like I came and "saved" him and gave him unconditional love through his darkest moments, helped him work towards being a better person etc. Well. It came on today again on my way to work this morning while i was in the car alone and I think this is the first time I've truly gotten to digest the lyrics. I almost cried at just how beautiful the lyrics are.

He said this song is very relatable to him while he is at work and exhausted daily and the thought of us being home together is what gets him through the day. He also sent me 'Would that I' is another that resonates with him.

I am really loving these songs and it gets me so choked up knowing he thinks about me when listening to them (I cry a lot when showing emotion lol). Can't stop listening. Any other songs you would recommend for newbies?

I wanted to share this video I found from the concert at Thunderridge. I haven’t seen him explain this yet, so it was really incredible. He spoke about the Irish language and mentions words and descriptions I couldn’t dream of.

As someone whose favorite is Warm Climate, this was a gift from the Gods
