Excited

Hey guys! I don't post on here much, but I thought this feed might appreciate it.

This is my Hozier themed tattoo that I just finished Monday. Has a lot of Work Song in it for me along with other little easter eggs added in.

I love it and thought you guys might too!

Hozier first dance song

Me and my partner thinking of Jackie and Wilson as we both love it. But are the lyrics about the protagonist dreaming of a love that leaves?

Unclear.

But is is a bop - defo prefer the upbeat mood for first dance

What do you guys think?? And what other Hozier songs would you choose for a first dance?

Favorite songs

I just recently went through a dark place in my life and music has always helped soothed my soul. In search for something to listen to I came across some of his music…the only song of his I knew was TMTC which I liked when it came out…but knew nothing of his library of music. I’ve liked most every one, some I had to listen to several times before it resonated with me.

His band is amazing though I’m sure it changes over time. It seems his drummer and keyboardist have been constants. I think it’s Alex?that plays guitar and fiddle is amazing and I hope he never leaves! The way they blend all their voices, not only in song, and the percussion with hands is so organic…no instruments needed.

Also why do you think more of his songs haven’t made it on the billboards? He uses great poetic prose and his writing is beautiful. I’m in the states so maybe it’s different in other Countries?

Like Real People Do

Like Real People Do isn’t even my favorite song, but it’s been stuck in my head for years.

A different part would be playing in the background of my mind for days, until I understand what it’s saying to me. It’s like the lyrics have so much depth in meaning that you can’t decode by simply listening to it.

“I will not ask you where you came from
I will not ask you and neither would you”

To me, this resembles my need to flee my reality for a moment, indulge in my own fantasies, and as my overthinking brain gets in the way, over analyzing a fantasy, the person in there will not ask me anything, won’t demand explanation for what I’m doing, or think I’m out of place.

My cover of Wasteland, Baby! for my last choir concert

My solo for my last ever high school choir concert. Only the seniors get solos, and I was one of the few picked so I wanted to do something that mattered to me. This is my favorite song of all time, and I had such a blast performing it. I’m going to music school next year and I’m so excited!!

Live performance for Unreal Unearth’ed album

Does anyone have a guess when Hozier will release the songs from his unearth tour? I’ve only found live performances from the 2014 album. Thank you!

Spotify look back is lying

I checked my look back today and imagine my confusion. It rightfully says that I created an account in 2011, it also says that I listened to my first song in 2017 and the song was Shrike by Hozier. Couple issues with that, I one hundred percent listened to things before that, and how the heck did I listen to Shrike two years before it was released?!

Been a fan for years and finally recorded my own version. One take, no autotune, raw and real. Would love to hear what fellow fans think of the interpretation.

Appreciation post for the acoustic versions of the songs

I love how the mood of the songs changes in the acoustic versions... perhaps a more intimate atmosphere? Also, the music videos were filmed in such picturesque locations. For example, "Like Peaple Do" in Lough Dan or "To Be Alone" in the collage for the post (does anyone know what ruins these are and where exactly?)

Maybe you have your own favorite versions? Feel free to write them below.

I got married by (drag) Hozier!

A wedding in a grove with Hozier music for the queues and our officiant was none other than Hozier himself. Still can’t believe this day was real.
