Is this a scam?

My father and I got this message talking about some traffic violation but why did I get it? I don't own a car? A scam? Any idea on how to proceed here?

Worst System - Hyd software house.

I quit this Hyderabad-based tech company around 4 months ago, and with some distance from it now, I can say this very clearly:

If you’re considering joining a company like this, do not get impressed by the salary figure alone. Ask questions. A lot of them.

I joined because the role sounded solid and the package looked good. I thought I was making a smart career move.

What I actually walked into was a workplace where, in my experience, policies around attendance, deductions and leave mattered more than basic common sense.

Your salary might look good on paper, but if there are aggressive deduction rules attached to it, that number means very little.

That was one of the biggest shocks for me.

Being late by a small amount could affect your pay. A few attendance issues in a month could turn into deductions that were actually noticeable when payday came around.

So before you join anywhere, ask them directly:

If I’m late by 1 minute, what happens?

How exactly are deductions calculated?

Can you show me the policy in writing?

If they become uncomfortable answering basic questions about your own salary, that should tell you something.

The management side was another disappointment for me.

I was hired for a specific role, but the reality of the work and the way people were managed often felt completely different from what I expected during hiring.

From my experience, there was a lot of obsession with rules and attendance, but nowhere near the same level of seriousness when it came to training people properly, utilizing their skills, communicating expectations or helping employees grow.

That’s what annoyed me the most.

If you’re going to treat attendance like a military operation, at least run the workplace with the same level of professionalism.

You can’t demand perfection from employees while management itself feels disorganized.

And then there’s leave.

Please, PLEASE ask about this before joining any company.

Ask what happens if your parent is hospitalized.

Ask what happens if there’s a surgery in your family.

Ask whether emergency leave is paid.

Ask who approves it.

Ask whether your salary gets affected.

Don’t wait until you’re already dealing with a family crisis to discover how the policy actually works.

Seeing coworkers stressed about serious family situations while also worrying about attendance and salary deductions was one of the things that completely killed my respect for the workplace.

I’m a university graduate with years of coding and development experience. I’ve worked in other organizations before.

So no, this wasn’t my first job and this wasn’t me discovering that “work is hard.”

There’s a difference between a demanding workplace and a badly managed one.

There’s a difference between accountability and nickel-and-diming employees.

There’s a difference between having policies and creating an environment where people are constantly worried about losing part of their salary over minor things.

For months, I wanted to leave.

But this is real life.

People have rent, bills, families and responsibilities.

“Just quit” is easy advice when you’re not the one who needs the paycheck.

So I stayed long enough to make an exit plan, found my way out, and eventually quit.

Four months later, I do not miss it.

Not even slightly.

And if this post makes even one person ask the right questions before accepting an offer, good.

Because companies should also be interviewed by candidates.

Before accepting a job, ask:

What are the exact attendance rules?

What happens if I’m a few minutes late?

How are salary deductions calculated?

Can I see those rules in writing before joining?

How many paid leaves do I actually get?

How are medical and family emergencies handled?

What percentage of employees regularly receive their full stated salary?

What exactly will I be doing in this role?

How will I be trained?

How is performance measured?

Why did the previous person in this role leave?

What is the employee turnover like?

Can I speak to someone currently working in the same department?

And please speak to former employees if you can.

Recruitment tells you what the company wants you to hear.

Former employees usually tell you what you actually need to know.

A big salary number does not automatically mean a good opportunity.

Sometimes it’s just a nice number attached to a workplace you’ll spend the next six months trying to escape.

I’m deliberately not naming the employer or specific individuals. This post is based on my own experience and observations.

But if you’re applying to tech companies in Hyderabad:

Do your homework.

Ask uncomfortable questions.

Get policies in writing.

And never assume that because a company is offering more money, it’s offering a better job.

Sometimes the biggest red flags only become obvious after you’ve already signed.

🐱 Cat & Kittens Looking for a Loving Forever Home

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a good and caring family to adopt my cat and her kittens.

I’ve raised the mother cat since she was a kitten, and she means a lot to me. Unfortunately, my parents no longer allow me to keep them at home and are asking me to leave them on the streets. I really don’t want that to happen, especially because the kittens are still very young.

Mother: Beautiful, friendly, and already trained to use the litter box.

Kittens: Around 2 months old, healthy and playful.

I’m looking for someone who will genuinely love them, take proper care of them, provide food and shelter, and treat them as family members. I don’t want to give them to someone who will later abandon them.

If you’re genuinely interested in adopting, please DM me. I’d really appreciate it if you could also share this post so they can find a safe and loving home. 🙏❤️

When did Hyderabad became a traffic city?

If you are an OG Hyderabad citizen you should know that traffic in this city only existed in saddar and doctor's lane or if you're really up there you might catch it in upper market areas (choti ghati, tower market etc) right now I'm seeing all of this everywhere this picture is from today 14 August, but we were stuck in this traffic for good 2 hours and it was really bad at that point we didn't eat came back home ordered some shawarmas, also not to mention I know hyd's crowd (because of some stage experience) it's changed a lot in recent years maybe the access to rural areas ? This is boulevard mall road on way back, after this we were stuck for another good 30 minutes in latifabad then 30 minutes or so in autobahn.

The only area that way clear was Qasimchowk (not the marhaba Qasim banquet patch).

Drop your advices on how should one plan a dinner with family on such days. Should we all just stay home now?

PS: if you're from Karachi I know you find this very cute.

Would you buy cricket bats/balls online if they were cheaper + verified authentic?

We're college students testing an idea: selling cricket bats and balls online in Hyderabad, 15-20% cheaper than shops, with quality verification.

Would you buy? What matters most the price, authenticity, or fast delivery?

Any feedback helps!
