Trolled by Phantom Ganon Silver Drops (on Great Sea I-3)

I want to upgrade Toon Link a bit but he requires the rarer Phantom Ganon materials. I'm not super far into the maps so my current best option is Great Sea I-3 with the 3 Giant Bosses that features 1 Phantom Ganon.

I'm using Master Sword Link with no Material boosting and beelining it straight to PG and beating him in two WPG rounds, so I logically should be seeing Silver materials at some point, right? Well I've restarted multiple times just to test and it refuses to give me silver for some reason, it's pretty much just a weapon every time or occasionally a gold (I'd say it's a 8/2 split), the latter I'd be happy about if I weren't seeking silver. Silver seems rarer than Gold.

Is this map bugged or programmed weird, or am I just that unlucky?

Edit: I finally got one, but I followed some advice online that suggested I should attempt to "exhaust" the weapon drop limit first, so I beat everything on the leaving Phantom Ganon last. I think the only materials I got was his cape and two monster horns.

Maybe it is just pure luck (to some degree) though.

Why do some people call some cities such as San Francisco, New York and Chicago warzones?

Saw another post that inspired me to want to ask this. I'm a coaster enthusiast from the UK and on a USA trip I stopped in multiple cities. Specifically, I stopped in Washington DC, Miami, New Orleans, Chicago, San Francisco and New York. People that we talked to in Miami, New Orleans, Washington DC and between said that cities such as New York, Chicago and especially San Francisco are war zones right now. They really emphasized San Francisco especially. I wonder if it is because cities such as those three seem to get the most media attention? When I think of America the first cities that would come to mind would be New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington DC. LA as well but we weren't interested in visiting.

This brought up a key question to my mind. Even if these cities have really bad areas, does that make it fair to refer to them as "warzones"? Also it appears many of the same Americans that say this, wouldn't think twice about visiting London, where over the past few years we have experienced hundreds of acid attacks (at times on random civilians) and an unspeakable amount of knife related crimes, which like US cities, are often gang related and mainly in certain boroughs. Yet in 2024 alone, we had over 16,700 knife crimes in London. Over 10,000 of those were armed robberies. When I look up statistics, it shows that the crime rate for the entire Chicago Metropolitan area is about 4-5 per 1000 individuals, whereas in Greater London it is about 40 per 1000. Greater London is our main metropolitan region with a similar population to the Chicago Metropolitan Region.

So we visited them. And personally, I thought they were all lovely. I was sat in my bed after the trip thinking "those cities felt like the most beautiful, big, global cities that we saw in the USA, and I felt the safest in them". Chicago was so clean! I thought it was interesting how both New York and Chicago had Harry Potter Shops (like London) though I choose to not spend my money at them and instead just enjoy the ambience. In those cities, the most dangerous thing we encountered were the amount of calories we consumed. New York and Chicago definitely felt the most global, cosmopolitan and "big city" to me, but San Francisco had a distinct beauty to it that was special to me. The hills were gorgeous and I did not expect areas to be so colorful. Very colorful buildings in places throughout. And well I found some areas to be dirty, I did not find that, or safety to be a big issue in any of those cities. In fact, in those 3 cities, I felt the safest.

Why does my dual element weapon do less damage than my 4+ weapon?

So I don’t have all of these yet, but my understanding was that a dual element weapon is a straight upgrade over the 4+ weapon. But Ganondorf and Shiek’s dual element weapons have a lower damage value than their 4+ weapon. Like ganondorf’s 4+ is 650 damage but his dual element is all the way down at 500 damage.

So should I be swapping between the two depending on the map, or is there something I’m not getting?

Is it worth waiting for a sale for Definitive Edition?

I know I'll like the game, I tried it out once already. But it's like $85 CAD. Does this game EVER go on sale, or does Nintendo just not really do that?

Probably digital, can't find it physical anywhere,

New to the series

My boyfriend really wants to play the Hyrule Warriors series after we play the LOZ games we have. I have currently collected for him Hyrule Warriors for the WiiU, Legends for the 3DS, and Age of Calamity. Is it worth it for me to get DE too? (He loves Dynasty Warriors which is why he wants to play the games). Thanks everyone

Edit: hey guys I just bought DE for $45 🎉 so overall I spent $10 on WiiU, $20 on 3ds, $42 on age of calamity. Yippee thanks everyone for your advice I hope he likes them!

Grinding

I'm working on 100% Completing Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition on Switch 2. I decided to do adventure mode while playing Legend Mode. Currently, I'm 35% done... the first First Adventure Mode map...

I played a lot of the original Hyrule Warrios since the WiiU release, how do AoC and AoI compare to it?

So i'm looking to expand my switch/switch 2 game library and I thought I could finally give those games an opportunity, but since I've read they are in some aspects pretty different to the original Hyrule Warriors i'm afraid of not liking them as much and feel I wasted money on them.

I know close to nothing about AoI other than its setting in relation to ToTK, but from AoC I've heard that even if it's non-canon and has weird fanfic-like twists on it, it's main story makes an honest attempt to build upon BotW backstory. If it has some good story beats and cool moments with decent writting i'll be satisfied. I never cared that much for the first game's Legend mode so if this one makes me more invested i'll be happy. I've also read the combat is in general more refined compared to the first game which is good.

What concerns me the most is side content. The most enjoyement I had (and i'm still having) from Hyrule Warriosr was grinding Adventure Mode, collecting tons of skins, weapons and fairies while triying and mastering all the different characters in the roster.

However I heard that AoC has less gameplay variety between characters (which I don't think it's the end of the world) and that its side content doesn't compare to Hyrule Warriors. So I really want to know if I'm gonna have an excuse to spend time learning the characters movesets in AoC and AoI or if it isn't a lot of stuff to do outside of the main story mode. I don't expect the gameplay of these games to have more longevity than the first game had, but I do want a game I can pour a lot of hours in.

How do I finish aside quest quickly?

I've recently finished the whole game except for all the aside quest, but am I the only one thinking that this is the most grindy part of the whole game? I've been grinding these for almost 8 hours now and I've only gotten around 8 done. These just seem extremely tedious for no reason, there has to be a faster way to do this. [Aoi]

Zelda Outfit Texture Glitch

In Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, I have some broken/missing textures on Zelda's Twilight outfit. I've never had this issue until today. I've tried closing and reopening the game, which didn't fix it, and restarting my switch, which didn't fix it either. Lately, I've been leaving my games open while the switch is in sleep mode.

Is there anything I can do to fix it, or should I just give up and deal with it?

Sorry for the bad picture quality! All the broken/missing textures are on all the metal pieces (crown, pauldrons, belt, neck piece).

Edit: Reddit never uploaded the picture I had in the draft, so I made a comment and added the picture.

Have a Switch 2, which to get?

As the title says, which hyrule warriors game out of the three should I get? I've heard the original runs better on the switch 2 but Aoc is locked at only 30fps. And then there's AOI for consideration too.

Performance aside, which of these three is the biggest must play? I can only get one for now.
