ISI B.Math Admission Interview

Hi Everyone, Just had a question for this subreddit.

My younger brother is appearing for ISI B.Math this year. His score for UGA is expected to be around ~108 so I'm expecting him to clear the written round. Just curious is there any interview round for B.Math this year?

He says No, but I can't find any information on the websites.

Thank you all for the help!

Chances of securing a seat in ISI bmath

Uga 70

Ugb got 4 full correct

Fucked up the 8th and 3rd problem

Apart from that 2 partial attempts

In geometry i did a partial solve(drew the figure and made some initial remarks)

I sketched the graph only for (0,1) arguing that f(x)=f(1/x)

I'm gen male.

Any chances of getting into isi bmath?

For those who chose isi over cmi. What was the reason?

Heyo, so rn I'm in the place where I can get directly into cmi via inoi. On the other hand I'm preparing for isi as well.

The final goal is to get a good PhD offer and eventually join academia.

I'm not too sure about my exact interests but it's similar to the works of neumann.

So yeah.

Insights would be appreciated

Also sorry if the tag was wrong

ISI/CMI 2027 Prep Helper

One thing I realised while preparing for ISI/CMI this year is that most people already have enough PDFs/materials. The bigger issue is usually:
• lack of good tests
• lack of serious discussion
• inconsistency
• no proper feedback/checking

A small serious prep environment honestly helps much more than endlessly collecting resources.

A few friends and I (2026 aspirants) are trying to build something around that idea on Telegram — mainly focused on:
• original topicwise/full tests
• curated materials
• original handouts
• discussions/guidance
• proper checking instead of just dumping papers

It’s not a lecture course or coaching, more like a structured prep-helper/testing community for serious aspirants.

We’ll also conduct some sample mocks with discounts for interested students.

(Will upload my own ISI/CMI results too once released.)

If anyone wants details or just wants to discuss ISI/CMI prep in general, feel free to DM in telegram:

Profile of a successful student at ISI?

I wanted to understand what it realistically takes for a bachelor’s student at ISI BMath to get into top universities abroad for masters/PhD in Math/CS (MIT/Stanford/Princeton-level places).

What kind of profile do successful students usually have?

How much research/project work did they do?

Were publications common?

How important were grades/rank?

Did most people do internships or REUs?

How strong do recommendation letters need to be?

Do professors/assnt. Professors give strong recommendation letters?

Also, how common is this path in practice at ISI?

Category trouble and chances of getting in BMath

hello guys. Im from a very financially weak family. we've been trying to get my GEN-EWS certificate approved for quite a while, and it seems it'll take another 2-3 weeks. since i dont have the documents ready i wasn't able to update the category in the time window given by isi (12,13 may). what am i supposed to do now? will they make an exception for me if i email them informing them of my situation and that i will try to submit the said documents as soon as possible?

In case they aren't able to make an exception, what are the chances of me getting admission as Gen-M?I scored 81 in uga(18 correct, 9 unattempted) and in ugb, did 4 mostly complete and one partial (did basically everything except the main final objective. would've been complete if i had remembered a simple one-line formula.). can expect 35-40/80.so with 4x multiplier in bmath, hopefully ~220-240/440.
