Hi all,
Just as the title says, I'm curious to know how much should a Netsuite or SAP or any ERP admin who also takes on developer tasks should earn?
For context, I was hired by this company as a Netsuite administrator and it's also limited to admin tasks within the scope of the job description.
Pero since ang goal ko talaga is to be and to practice NS development and I have prior experience naman with it, I initiated to take over development and hard customization tasks for my employer instead of them paying our 3rd party consultants to do it.
I know they have saves thousands of dollars because of me and they are openly happy with my skills and performance.
It's been a year since then and we'll be having our performance review soon which is my opportunity to ask for salary raise and alignment.
I'm being paid within the lower range of 6 digits naman pero I just feel that it's not enough for the amount of scope and responsibilities I am handling right now.
Can anyone on this line of field, being a hybrid role, share nyo naman how much ang market salary for an Administrator/Developer? (6 years NS exp, 3 years dev exp)

hello everyone. mag seek lang sana ng advice as someone who graduated last yr and currently working in the govt as JO but more on the clerical side of work. last month, i rejected an offer from acn because wala po akong mahanap na place to relocate so i decided to stay in this job for the mean time. but the longer i stay here, it feels suffocating and im starting to question myself if its better to leave this job kahit walang back up to get back on self studying kasi di ko na talaga nagamit yung natutunan ko since started working and aminado na sobrang rusty ko na. on top of that i kinda wanna take break before jumping sa next work kasi toxic na rin tong current work environment ko hence the reason im seeking advice here sa reddit.
sorry sa rant heres the question : SHOULD I QUIT, SELF STUDY, AND FIND A MORE ALIGNED ROLE LATER or STAY AND APPLY TO WHATEVER JOB IS AVAILABLE THEN TRY BREAKING INTO TECH LATER
i will appreaciate any kind of advice. sorry i feel kinda lost in the field and in life. thanks everyone
is it worth it lumipat ng company to ACN ASE? currently working as backend dev sa local finance company (first job probi pa) and medyo napapaisip ako if worth it ba lumipat sa Accenture as ASE for stepping stone or something. baka mas matunog kasi ACN sa resume HAHA
Hi everyone, I need some career advice.
I’m a Computer Engineering graduate, and I’m currently on my 2nd job. My first job was in the IT field, and I recently accepted a documentation role at a financial services company.
During the job offer and final interview, the actual scope of the role wasn’t really discussed in detail. I was given the impression that the position would mainly involve documentation-related work.
Now that I’m being oriented, I’m learning that the actual responsibilities are much bigger than I initially expected. Apparently, there’s a lot of coordination, KPI monitoring, reporting, and overseeing other employees’ work.
The salary is ₱19,500 during probationary status, and it will only increase to around ₱23k+ once regularized.
I also talked to someone who was temporarily hired for the same type of work, and they said that OT is quite common, usually until around 7:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
The OT is paid, but I’m still wondering if the overall compensation is fair considering the scope and responsibilities of the role.
This honestly made me question whether I made the right decision. 😭
As a Computer Engineering graduate with my background in the IT field, I’m worried that this role might take me too far away from IT. At the same time, the responsibilities seem pretty big for ₱19,500, especially if frequent OT is expected.
The thing is, these responsibilities and the possible frequent OT weren't really discussed clearly during the final interview or when the job offer was presented to me. I’m only getting a clearer picture now during the actual orientation.
Should I still try to negotiate the salary before signing the contract, or should I accept it and use the experience as a stepping stone?
Would really appreciate some honest advice from people who have been in a similar situation. 🥲

Timeline of events
June 22, 2026, my first newborn son was born. On the same day (evening), I told my boss that I would file a leave. This was to ensure that I could give my time to my wife, who gave birth to our firstborn son via cesarean. But my boss said that I didn't need to file a leave as long as I was approving tickets and attending meetings. Either way, I insisted on filing a leave (2 leave requests, which was not enough for me). I tried to contact my boss to file another leave because it wasn't enough, but he insisted that I didn't need to (sayang daw kasi kung uubusin ko yung leave ko, since pwede naman ma convert sa cash).
June 23 to 24, 2026, while my leave was approved, I was still approving tickets from our ticketing system and attending meetings online, while I was in the hospital taking care of my wife and newly born kid. Because of this, I missed the moment and the feeling of being a father on the 1st and 2nd day.
On June 30, 2026 (Monday), I received a message from my boss. The message was directly hostile toward me. He started attacking my integrity at work. (hindi na nga ako pinag file ng leave despite of my situation tapos hahanapan pa ako ng biglaang output pagsapit ng monday? knowing na 4 days ako nasa hospital last week)
Because of the accusation, I asked him what the basis of his accusation was, and what did he say? Na di daw niya ako nakikitang naka seen sa Viber group chat (hello? Naka premium ako sa Viber and I have the option for that).
As someone who is one of his IT Heads and the lone InfoSec Officer being relied on for the security side, I felt disrespected by the attack on my integrity, especially when he knew my situation, that I had a newly born son and a wife who had just undergone a cesarean and needed me by her side during her recovery, and that I was willing to use all of my leaves.
Please take note na sa lahat ng IT Heads niya, ako lang yung hindi niya nilalagyan ng tauhan, but I am supporting not just one company but also our six affiliates. kumbaga I was only there for accountability just in case there was a security and data breach.
Our last conversation ended with "sige, yan ang desisyon mo" after I said, "Alam ko sa part ko, naging proactive naman ako. Kahit nga naka leave ako, nag a-approve pa rin ako ng mga ticket at sumasagot pa rin sa mga biglaang tawag ng IT Audit. Sige sir, kung sa tingin niyo wala na pong ginagawa o dishonesty na lang ang nagagawa ko, mag submite na lang po ako ng resignation. Salamat sir."
I decided to submit my resignation for peace of mind. I also decided to talk to IT Audit and the President behind his back. I told them that he had always been blocking my VAPT project for the in house application being developed by our IT developer (ayaw niya magpa VAPT kasi magiging busy yung developer niya sa pag address ng mga vulnerabilities, dahil naka focus siya sa puring makukuha niya sa senior management, pero yung security side ng application? ligwak. Then ano? sakin isisisi pag nagka breach? please take note na yung in-house application nila can be accessible sa internet. LOL).
Right now, I'm on my 30 day rendering period at dahil wala papalit sa position ko as infosec? isa isa na sila nagkaka problema sa security side lalo na sa pag sagot sa I.T Audit. also, may enough ipon din naman ako habang naghahanap ng bagong lilipatan. if hindi man makuha agad, I will use my time to take care of my newborn son and wife na nag re recover galing cesarean.
Please take note that we were close before. However, if my boundaries are being crossed, I also have my limits.
I believe I deserve to work in an environment that supports both my well-being as a person and my responsibilities as an Information Security professional.
But I also want to hear your thoughts. Do you think I was wrong for finally snapping at him and at my work?
Just wanna ask if this is okay for starting salary? I do have CSR exp kasi kaya the interview and communication is okay naman for me plus yung pinasa ko na hininging payslip is yung may incentive na top agent aq dati haha
So ayon fast forward to now, naofferan 26k tho gusto ko lang sana siya maging stepping stone at makaland ng mas okay na job pagkagraduate. Idk pa ano ko gusto ko gawin.
I join hackathons, orgs, workshops, tapos nagwowork din. Di ko pa talaga alam. Panay linkedin lang ako nag LALARP HAHAHA
Problema sakin e, pabago bago gusto ko. Minsan gusto ko maging developer, minsan project manager, business analyst, automation engineer, mechatronics engineer(previous exp), iot specialist, tapos dahil sa datacamp pati data engineer pumasok sa isip ko.
Ayun lang just ranting shit out, kinda pressured lang pero back to topic, is that low?
A week ago na breach yung pc ko gawa ng may nainstall ako na di sadya causing to installing a trojan. Then after mainstall nag run ako ng windows defender tas nagreformat nako to be sure. Pero kahet nagreformat naman na ako nakakapag palit parin ng mga account details ko. Question lang po what is the best thing to do sa mga gantong situations? Thank you po!
Hi I'm a fresh grad Software developer, I got absorbed from the company where I applied for an internship. They are very nice and understanding people. The working environment is nice and very considerate too. They offered me an 18k contract for a probationary 6 months. Then my partner is currently at Cebu working. She told me that it would be nice if I could go to Cebu and find a job there. Should I renew or go to Cebu to find a new job.
Hello! Ilang days/weeks nyo po nakuha result ng coding assessment?
Hi guys, I just started college as a BSIT (Information Technology) major and I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed. My family can't really afford a laptop right now, and from what I understand it's pretty much required for everything in this course; coding, projects, exams, the works.
I'm trying to figure out my options:
- Any scholarship/equipment grant programs specific to IT students that I should look into?
- Is it realistic to survive early BSIT coursework on a phone/school computer lab for a while?
- Any tips on dirt-cheap but functional secondhand laptops that can actually handle basic programming work?
Not asking anyone to hand me money, just trying to figure out the smartest way to handle this without derailing my first year. Would appreciate any advice from people who've been through something similar. 🙏
Edit: Also worth mentioning, I'd like to study and practice in advance, not just during class hours, but doing that on a phone is pretty limiting (no proper IDE, hard to actually run/test code, etc.). So that's why I'm still trying to explore my options for something more capable, even a cheap secondhand unit.
Normal lang ba na 3 ang assessment for an IT role? Hi, I'm a fresh grad and I am really doubtful if the hiring process is even real at this point. For context I applied on this role 2 months ago.
1 month ago, they emailed me an assessment to build a full stack application using their tech stack. I was hoping to land this job that's why I created an application with both creativity and additional functionality just to stand out. The email mentioned that after I submit the application, there will be a 30-60 minutes call where I need to walk them through it.
The call never happened and instead they game me a new assessment 2 weeks ago. That assessment is a coding exam with skill assessment. I got through it and I was confident, I thought this was it, I could finally land a job for the first time. But, that did not happened.
I just got an email again from them to do an assessment once more. This time, the task is the same as the first one, just strip down the functionality into the instructed core functionalities and do not rely on AI. The email mentioned again that they will make a 30-60 minute call after passing the application. Now, I know to myself that I could do this, but I am really tired and doubtful. Their hiring process is so convoluted, it takes 2 weeks for them to update, the job is for junior role and it has a lot of assessment, and the salary is not that high.
Is it even worth it to apply for this role? Help. I just want to find and land on a job that I could be happy and passionate.
IAM Career Progression & Certifications
Hello everyone! For those already working in IAM, could you share your career/salary progression from entry-level to senior roles?
I’d also love to know:
What certifications did you take?
What was your career path into IAM?
Which certifications or skills helped you progress to higher-level roles?
I’m currently trying to pivot into IAM. My background is:
6 years total work experience
3 years as a Customer Service Representative
3 years as a Technical Support Representative
Currently working in Technical Support for POS systems as a Spanish bilingual support
Currently have AZ-900 and MD-102
Currently studying for SC-300 (Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator)
I’m particularly interested in understanding what a realistic salary progression looks like from entry-level IAM roles to mid-level and senior IAM positions.
Any advice from people already working in IAM would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
29 years old na ako and I know and i feel na super left behind na ako here is the breakdown:
Break-down
1st - govt office a total of 3 years and 7 months : wherein during my 3rd year and last 7 months doon lang ako na expose ng maigi sa web development
2nd - 8 months private company
3rd - 8 months private company
4th - 4 months
and here sa bago kong company that im still a contractual for 6 months starting Aug 20, naiingit ako sa mga kasabayan ko na managers na lahat kung di man manager malaki na sweldo and ako nalang ang hindi.
Nasabi sa akin ng friend ko na real talk naman talaga, "Bakit ka nandyan"? at first di ko pinansin pero as days go by parang sabi ko may mali talaga, and I'm lost since dito sa bago kong company ang selling value ko lang is pang Junior which is deserve ko naman at hindi ako naexpose masyado
Masasabi ko naman na naging pabaya ako. For an Oldy can you guys spare some advise kahit criticism.
In June 2025, the internal watchdog inside the DICT (the Department of Information and Communications Technology) sent a memo to the Commission on Audit, the government’s official auditor, raising red flags about a senior official, Undersecretary David Almirol Jr., and the e-government office he runs. The memo attached three reports.
The first is small in peso terms but points to a bigger problem. The DICT’s online bidding platform adds a ₱47.50 “convenience fee” every time someone pays online, but that money does not show up anywhere in the department’s official financial records. There is also no clear legal basis for charging it, and the platform was never properly registered as a payment operator the way the law requires. On its own the fee is tiny, but money being collected from the public that cannot be traced is the kind of thing auditors take seriously.
The second report is about security. A string of cyberattacks hit government agencies, the telecoms regulator, the police, the transportation department, and a local government in Ilocos Norte. The report claims these attacks look similar to methods used by previously arrested hackers, some of whom are allegedly connected to Almirol’s former company, Multisys, and to another former DICT official, Jeffrey Dy.
The third report is where the real money is, and it is a lot. It says Almirol approved a series of large government tech contracts (the eGov app, the eLGU system, and the National Government Data Center) that went to companies tied to PLDT, in many cases without full open bidding. Some highlights of what the auditors flag:
- Over ₱426 million in contracts for “managed” and “consultancy” services that may have been mislabeled to avoid registering the results as government property.
- A data center where 100 server racks were leased but 97% sat unused, while the government pays ₱36 million every single month, roughly ₱432 million a year.
- Additional rack leases worth ₱120 million on top of that.
- Contracts in 2024 that appear to repeat what was already paid for in 2023, meaning the government may have paid twice for the same thing.
- Software built with public money whose source code was never handed over to the government, so taxpayers paid for systems they don’t fully own.
Independent reporting has since put the total universe of these PLDT-linked eGov contracts at more than ₱1.5 billion.
The bottom line: a ₱47.50 fee got the auditors’ attention, but the reports describe potential exposure in the hundreds of millions to over a billion pesos. The auditors are asking the Commission on Audit to launch full independent investigations and to refer the officials involved to the Ombudsman and other agencies to determine whether any laws were broken.
JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED!
