Yes, it has EMG pickups...
I have the 7 string iceman, its got quite bad neck dive.
Where is the best place to move the strap button, to stop the neck dive ?
Um a somewhat beginner with guitars, I own a old GDR Acoustic, I was thinking about getting an Ibanez becouse they got guitars fir a pretty good price (my goal was around 250€/290$ (I aint got more for the guitar).
The thing is thath I was thinking about getting something like the grg170dx becouse I dont just like the Design but it has HSH, but I will buy the guitar later this year AMD then it will cost 300€/350$
So I would like zo know if anyone coukd recommend me a Ibanes For my price Range (250€/290$) thath has what I asked for.
I want to play Something more Rock to metal , bit want the guitar to be versatile , if u thing I could chose a Complete other pickup just tell, and why i should.
Thanks in beforehand and for taking your time.
I used to be a Schecter guy, mainly because they weren’t too expensive second hand and I was broke, but I was doomscrolling marketplace and saw a really cool Ibanez, which was way out of my price range. I first asked my parents if they could but it for me, but they refused, saying “this is your 5th guitar this year yet I keep hearing you play the same shit you did 5 years ago.” So I had to get some extra money by tutoring my juniors some math and using that money and betting it on the World Cup, thankfully I didn’t lose the parlay and I finally found some time to get the guitar, and without hesitation, bought it on the spot. This will certainly not be the last ibanez I get. The flame on this thing is insane, no photos do it justice, I honestly should’ve went for a worse finish so I actually practice my guitar instead of admiring it.
I’ve had this old Ibanez RG7321 for what feels like 100 years, and for a long time I honestly wasn’t that happy with it.
It had a DiMarzio Evolution 7 in the bridge, but I personally never got along with it, ‘cause it sounded really bad for low tunings.
So I eventually decided to basically rebuild the whole thing instead of buying another 7-string.
Current setup / mods:
Seymour Duncan Nazgul 7 - bridge
Seymour Duncan Sentient 7 - neck
Sentient coil split via push/pull tone pot
Dunlop DSP500K Super Pot - volume
CTS 500K push/pull - tone
HOSCO DM-30 - 3-way selector
Pure Tone output jack
Hipshot Ibby FP bridge
Gotoh SG381-07 MG-T locking tuners
Graph Tech TUSQ nut
Grover Strap Locks
Full copper shielding in the electronics and pickup cavities
Fret level
Body polished/restored to a high-gloss finish
Currently set up for Drop G with a .072 bottom string
The wiring turned into an absolutely ridiculous project and took me way longer than I tought it would, but it’s finally done (my first time wiring).
And wow, the difference is massive.
The Nazgul absolutely crushes in this guitar. Tight low end, aggressive mids, and it actually stays defined when playing low riffs instead of turning into a muddy mess.
The Sentient is much clearer and more usable than the old stock neck pickup, and having the coil split gives me another genuinely useful sound instead of just being a gimmick.
This guitar basically went from an old budget 7-string that I barely wanted to play to a guitar that now sounds and feels like an entirely different instrument.
Sorry for the long post, I’m just pretty proud of how this turned out haha
Picked up this beauty in mint condition for 550€ and a case included, now I can properly play some chugtastic riffs in drop C :)
Officially revealed!
Hello beautiful people! Finally sold my soul to the Ibanez.
I wanted to get myself Ibanez for a long time. At first I wanted to get the rgixl7 27 inch one, but they ran out of stock just when I was ready to buy, and they say I had to wait over a month for a restock.
So I got myself this beauty, the difference between rgdrb71and rgixl7 seemed to be very insignificant to me (wish it was 27 tho), so I had to get this one instead.
I'm pretty in love right now with it, qc is quite good, not perfect though. The paint on the lower horn, from the switch, is a little rough for some reason but it's ok.
D'activators are zesty, monorail bridge is very nice, tuners are smooth as butter, controls placement is very convenient, neck is very thin and it looks gorgeous.
It doesn't not have inlays so I have to get used to playing without inlays. And I need to make my hands remember how to play 7 string again, since I only played 6 strings after I sold my first 7 a few years ago.

All 3 of these guitars look super sick, have their own cool features, and I would love to own them but i can only get 1.
I think feature wise the evh and ibanez honestly kind of out do the schecter but it doesn’t lack features either and it is very pretty
I’m looking for any opinions, takes, information, or insight yall can offer to help me make sure im making the right decision
Huge thanks to everyone who decides to help
I love this guitar sooooooo much. I usually use higher action on my guitars, but when I bought it a few weeks ago, it came with the strings relatively low. I gave it a shot, I was loving the guitar, taking some time to adapt to the low action. Today, I decided to higher the action and lower the pickups. What a dramatic change! So much more comfortable, it feels like home, a totally different guitar, but in good way. And the sound improved too, I now get the clarity that was hidden, the single coil type of sound. Before there was not a very clear difference between neck and neck+middle pickup sound. Now the difference is absolutely dramatic. I know Ibanez guitars are known for being able to get really low action, really thin necks, and people are very used to low action. Probably you too. Have you tried higher the action? I say give it shot for a week or two, it is a game changer. Who else prefer higher action? Are you low or high action team? Ibanez for life🤘
I’ve been playing consistently for around 3 months now and i’m looking at personally buying my next guitar with my own money. I’m currently on your basic beginner squier strat playing mostly blues and want to switch it up/upgrade. So, I’m looking for any recommendations and/or information on basically the polar opposite type of guitar. I’m talking locking tremolo, dive bombs, fast licks, crazy technique stuff. I’ve looked at ibanez and evh and a couple have caught my eye but Id like to hear from people more experienced than I. My criteria are it must look good, last a while, have a locking tremolo bridge, and under $1k preferably like ~$700 give or take. Huge thank you for anyone deciding to help out
Edit: *I MADE A NEW POST* go check it out i narrowed it down to 3 choices and have considered all of your guys feedback thanks a ton!
I've recently found one that is new old stock never used for 2K USD, is this a good find? Does any one have one of these in their collection is it worth it for the price?
Can someone point out a good site for guitar parts? I'm looking for a locking collar for my Ibanez Jiva Jr trem arm.
This is a face book listing and I wanted to know what model this is. It is listed as rg550 but it has the rosewood fretboard, the original edge tremolo, a missing pickguard(seller removed it).
Its being sold for 286USD but the seller can lower the price. Do i get it?
Hey everyone! Just posting to show my very first Ibanez a Korean-made S520EX with the ZR tremolo.
I wanted to get your thoughts and opinions on this model! Personally, I'm not a big fan of the stock pickups, so I'll probably swap them out later. What do you guys think?
