Addictive 🥹

Some people call it soft ice, some say it’s called fairy ice. Whatever it really isis, I LOVE IT. 🥹 it’s so good and the texture makes me melt.

GE Opal 2.0 “Add water issue”

Recently inherited an ice maker from a neighbor yesterday and now trying to figure out why it isn’t running. I’ve provided video footage of what’s happening.

- When the hose tube are down the water flows out the back however when they’re up the machine will suck in a bit of water but won’t suck the remaining water into the machine and leave with the message “add water” even when I poured water into the internal water basin.

I assume this has to do with the water pump (as many people point towards that being the main culprit of issues) or the float sensor. I’m not particularly versed in repairing so any help/direction would be appreciated in getting this baby back and running!

Countertop with Continuous Water Suppy

I need a second ice maker for my lake house. I currently own a Mueller that I bought in 2024. Works great and has the option for continuous water. However it’s not available anymore.

Looks like the are a couple options out there. The Gevi V2.0 from Amazon and the Brio 740i from Costco.

Does anyone have any experience with either? Or does anyone have recommendations on others that have continuous water supply options?

1/3 of the best ice ever

Currently at work enjoying a nice cup of ice. But I truly want to put this in a blender to get that powdery/ freezer frost ice type of consistency, I’ve been craving so bad 🤤🤤🤤

Bought a ge opal from Sam’s Club not even a week old and it’s making this noise

After doing some research here it seems the machines might be garbage so should I exchange it or just return it and get a different brand ?

UPDATE: Euhomy Nugget Ice Maker Gearbox Contamination — Disassembly Findings + Manufacturer Response (Day 11)

Following up on my original post documenting espresso-colored contamination observed in the reservoir of the EUHOMY IM002-NSI-USEH nugget ice maker.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for the gearbox lubricant has still not been provided despite multiple requests and missed deadlines over the course of 11 days.

Using the exploded parts diagram provided by the manufacturer, I conducted a limited visual disassembly of the unit (removed side panels) and identified the gear motor assembly as a Ningbo Hicon International Industry Co., Ltd. unit, Model RY-CJY-816330-0008L, with a 667:1 gear ratio.

Findings during inspection included:
• Yellow oily substance visible on the exterior of the gearbox housing
• Red/brown oily substance along the gearbox housing seam, consistent in appearance with the espresso-colored contamination previously observed in the reservoir
• The manufacturer’s own exploded parts documentation does not identify any lubricant associated with the gear motor or gearbox chassis

The manufacturer has responded with water flow diagrams and food-contact material certifications under normal operation, but has still not provided the SDS for the lubricant used in the gearbox assembly.

A formal product safety report has been submitted to Amazon.

The manufacturer has also offered to send a technician to inspect the unit at my home. I have indicated that I am open to this contingent on receiving the SDS first.

Photos attached.

I will continue to update as communications move forward.
