Hey everyone,

I just finished building a small SaaS called DMLinkr.

The idea came from something I kept seeing on Instagram. Creators ask people to comment a keyword to get something in DMs. I looked into tools that automate this, but most of them felt too complex and expensive for what I needed. They come with a lot of features, but I really just wanted a simple flow where a comment triggers a DM.

So I built something focused only on that. No extra layers, just a straightforward tool that does comment keyword to automatic DM.

The hardest part honestly was not building the product, it was dealing with Meta. Getting API access, going through app review, business verification, and finally getting tech provider verification took me a couple of months.

Now that everything is approved and live, I want to get real people using it and understand how it actually performs in real scenarios.

If you are using any Instagram DM automation tools, especially paid ones, I would really like to hear how you use them and what could be better. I am open to adding features and even building custom automations based on real needs.

In return, I will give you full Pro access for free. At this stage I care more about improving the product than charging for it.

If you want to check it out, it’s here: https://dmlinkr.com

If this sounds useful, feel free to comment or DM and I will set you up

Trying to become a fashion/lifestyle creator in Chennai… but I feel lost seeing how this industry actually works

I honestly don’t know where else to ask this, so posting here hoping creators/models/influencers will give real advice instead of fake motivation.

I’m trying to grow as a fashion/lifestyle creator and model. Not huge level. Still growing. I do content, reels, styling, brand shoots etc. But recently I started noticing the reality behind many influencer pages and now my mind is honestly confused and exhausted.

When I see creators like Deepika Venkatachalam and other established fashion creators, I genuinely wonder:

  • How are they managing expenses initially?
  • Where do they buy outfits regularly?
  • Do they rent dresses?
  • How do bridal saree collaborations happen?
  • Do designers give free outfits or is it barter?
  • How much do creators usually spend for:
    • Makeup artist
    • Photographer/cameraman
    • Studio
    • Jewelry
    • Styling
    • Travel
  • At what follower count do brands actually start paying properly?
  • How much can a mid-level creator realistically charge?

Because from outside everything looks glamorous… but behind the scenes it feels financially and mentally draining.

One reel itself sometimes needs:

  • dress
  • makeup
  • camera person
  • editing
  • accessories
  • location

And after all that, views may not even cross expectations.

Another thing disturbing me is… some brands and people in this industry indirectly expect “compromises” for opportunities or collaborations. I hate that this exists. It genuinely destroys confidence and peace of mind. I’m trying to grow respectfully and professionally without crossing my boundaries, but sometimes it feels like the genuine people are struggling more.

I also want to understand:

  • How do creators become “valuable” enough that brands approach them seriously?
  • Is follower count everything now or does content quality/network matter more?
  • How do creators connect with good photographers/designers without getting exploited?
  • Are there genuine bridal saree brands/designers who collaborate with growing creators?

I’m not asking for shortcuts. I’m ready to work hard. I just want clarity from people who are already in this space or have seen the reality behind it.

Even brutally honest advice is okay. I just want real answers.

Most beginner content creators fail because they lack talent, but also because they never start properly.

I have noticed something interesting about talking to a lot of newer creators recently.

Most people actually do not struggle with ideas. They struggle with:

  • Starting publicly
  • consistency
  • overthinking every post
  • comparing themselves to creators who've been posting for 5+ years.

People are spending months watching content strategy videos, saving reels, rewriting their bio, planning future content and still never posting consistently.

Honestly, I do get it.

Posting online feels weirdly vulnerable when you actually care about doing well.

A few friends and I recently started hearing about doing well. A few friends and I have recently started helping beginner creators in a more hands-on-way-less consume more advice and more sit down and actually building your creator system.

Things like:

  • Figuring out their niche.
  • writing hooks/scripts.
  • building a realistic posting workflow.
  • creating a 7-day content plan.
  • getting comfortable showing up online.

The biggest shift was not even growth.

It was watching people go from:

"I want to become a creator someday" to "Okay wait.... I actually posted"

That confidence shift changes everything.

We are now putting together a small live creator cohort in June around this idea and before finalising everything we wanted to understand where people are getting stuck the most.

Made a short form here:

Curious though:

What do you think is the biggest reason people never become consistent creators?

been in content for 3 years, happy to help, AMA

been working in content for 3+ years. helped brands, worked with creators, best reel hit 29M+ views, launched people from zero who were scared to even look at a camera.

if you're struggling with anything related to content, like if you're not fluent on camera, you don't know niche, you feel like it's too late, you don't have the right setup, your growth is zero, just talk to me. I can try to help you figure out.

Is Faceless UGC Still Worth it?

Hi, I am a content strategist and currently I am handling Instagram pages for a couple of my clients where in one of my client post talking head videos about esports content.

We were able to get 200 K views in just a month since this genre is very niche and it is quite difficult to get views on talking head videos (we do no trends) just pure news and commentary videos so I realised that I had a knack for managing social media and can almost predict which video will do well and which will not!

The thing is after handling pages for a month or so. I realised that I also wanted to post content. However, I’m not comfortable showing my face. I have seen a lot of UGC content creator who post faceless content.

I just wanted to know from other creators if UGC is still in trend since it feels like it has almost died, but I do see a lot of content creator getting views and money from it.

Comments are appreciated!

Hey, I’m looking for someone in Jaipur who is genuinely interested in building something in the content creation space.

My focus is around mental health, psychology, fitness, lifestyle and supplements; basically content that actually helps people improve their life, not just random trends.

I already have solid knowledge in this niche and a clear long-term vision: starting with content (reels + YouTube) and eventually building something bigger like a trusted platform/community around it.

What I’m looking for:

  • Someone consistent and serious
  • Interested in content creation (editing, scripting, shooting, ideas - anything helps)
  • Open to learning and experimenting (AI visuals, storytelling, etc.)
  • Preferably based in Jaipur so we can meet, plan and shoot together

I’m not expecting you to be an expert, just someone who actually wants to build something meaningful and is willing to put in effort.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, DM me or comment.

Let’s see if we can create something solid.

Bonus if you’re into gym/fitness or psychology stuff.
