Indian Rupee: A rare case of a single banknote featuring the signature of the same person in two languages.

Searching for images of Indian rupee banknotes revealed two signatures printed on one. Initially, I thought they were the signatures of two different people, but after researching, I learned they are the signatures of the same person, one in English and one in Hindi.

This is extremely rare worldwide. After the Indian rupee was redesigned in 2016, the signatures were changed from horizontal to vertical, but upon closer inspection, you can still see the same person's signature in two different languages.

However, it seems the governors of the Reserve Bank of India are not very proficient in Hindi. Except for the most recent governor, the Hindi signatures of previous governors look like those of a primary school student.

Is 75 Years of Independence not a commemorative series

Hi Redditors,

Happy Sunday..!!

Just got this coin today from the market, a year 2026 made coin of INR 20/- still coming in with 75 Years of Independence label.

Wasn't the series to be for the 75th Year and not the years after.

HOW LONG WILL RBI get these coins out..are we gonna see such coins coming even in year 2030.

Also the qualities of coins, this year in the market and it has already started wearing out..

The 20 years on one side and satyamev Jayate on other are visibly worning out..without any one intentionally damaging it..

If we see hong kong and china..they still have coins in circulation from year 1980s.

Why we have gone down with our quality.

And what about 75 years of Independence..

How long will this continue..

Help with Queen Victoria Coins

Hi everyone, inherited these Queen Victoria coins. Pics attached. Do you guys recommend cleaning these, or should I just leave as it is? If yes for cleaning, how can I go about it safely? Also inherited a couple other King Edward VII coins in similar condition. How can I also store them safely? Planning on buying a simple coin collection album. I'm pretty new to coin keeping so I want to keep them safe from now on. Thanks!

48 Variants of ₹5 Coin I've Found So Far — Regular Issues + Commemoratives

It's been almost three years since I started seriously collecting variants of Indian coins that I come across through my everyday transactions.

I thought I'd take a quick picture and share it with this wonderful community, which has helped me so much during the early days of this hobby—especially with identifying coins and clearing up all my doubts along the way.

One of my favourite things about collecting this way is the excitement of getting change somewhere and suddenly spotting a design or variant you've never seen before. It's such a small thing, but it genuinely makes my day! 😄

As of now, I've managed to collect 48 different variants of the ₹5 coin. I'm sure there are still plenty more out there, and hopefully, I'll be able to find them all someday! 🪙

Thanks to everyone in this community who has helped me along the way. ❤️
