Help identifying and a Mughal square silver rupee - 11.3g

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here can help me identify this square silver coin.

Here's what I know so far:

Square shape, silver, 11.3g

Persian/Arabic calligraphy on both sides

Floral/diamond symbol visible on reverse (possibly a mintmark)

Possibly Akbar (1556-1605), KM 82.1, Ahmadabad mint type

Posting photos of both obverse and reverse. Any help confirming the ruler, mint, AH date would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Wise holding on to this coin?

Is it wise holding on to this coin? Found this 2-3 years back and kept it with my new coin collection from nearly every new coin series launched.

Got this 1/2 rupee coin from a shopkeeper. He thought I got played🤣.

Today I got a 1/2 rupee coin from a shopkeeper instead of a 5 rupee coin. He thought I got played. Is it rare or collectable?

Collection Share: 1985 20 Paise (Hexagonal) & 1990s 10 Paise (Scalloped)

Hi everyone, sharing a couple of older circulation coins I have.

  • 20 Paise (1985): Hexagonal shape. Based on a quick Numista search, this series is minted in an Aluminium-magnesium alloy.
  • 10 Paise (1990s): 8-scalloped shape, also an Aluminium alloy. The last digit on the year is a bit worn (looks like 1992 or 1993).

How I acquired them: I actually stumbled across these while cleaning up my room. They were buried right in the middle of my hand tools bag .

Specs: I don't have a precision scale or calipers to give the exact gram weight to two decimal places or exact millimeter diameter at the moment (apologies to Rule 6!), but they appear to be standard circulation strikes.

Would love to hear any historical context or interesting trivia the community has about these specific mint runs!
