How many rounds do you actually get in per year?

Right now I’m lucky if I get in 1 round and maybe 2–3 practice sessions per month.

Having 2 small kids definitely changes the equation a bit, especially living in Norway where outdoor golf season feels short.

Curious what the balance looks like for everyone else between actual rounds vs range/simulator/practice sessions.

Built an app to help me better understand my sim data.

Hey indoor golf community! Sorry for the long rant, but I just wanted to share my story and provide some context.

I live in Chicago and have been playing golf for a few years now. Living here means a big chunk of my time is spent inside at simulators during the colder months. That's usually where I try to work on stuff.

Golf lessons can get expensive so I don't always have access to them. But one thing I wanted to start doing was actually understanding the sim data, like what all the numbers really mean. I was having a hard time connecting the dots on my own.

So I started taking screenshots after sessions and uploading them to ChatGPT to explain what was going on. It was useful at first but then it became hard to keep track of everything. All the conversations just became noise at some point.

That's basically why I built Caddio. You upload a screenshot from your sim (or any sort of table of data) and it pulls the numbers, finds patterns across your bag, and tells you what actually happened that session. It also tracks everything over time so you can see what's changing instead of trying to remember.

It's in beta and I'm just looking for a few simulator golfers to try it out and give me honest feedback. It's early so things won't be perfect. Leaning on you all to help.

You can join the waitlist at caddio.app, drop a comment, or DM me if you're interested. The goal isn't to sell anything. Just gauging interest. Appreciate you all! Happy to answer any questions.

What’s missing from the indoor golf experience right now?

The technology has gotten incredibly good.

But from a golfer experience standpoint, what still feels incomplete, frustrating, or disconnected to you?

24/7 Indoor golf gym build

I am looking to build a 24/7 indoor golf gym in the United Kingdom.

The concept would be 3 indoor bays, having a putting practise area with some different slopes and levels for different challenges and a small gym area concentrating on exercises and equipment benefitting golfers.

There will also be a small area (depending on space) as a bit of a work area, just standing desks, power socket etc. This is because I fedl that this concept could attract busy people that may need a space for 10 mins to call or send an email. Lastly, a small comfort area, couple sofas, table and tv with sports in the corner somewhere.

There would be nothing else but this. My whole idea is that I love golf, but I have other hobbies and other commitments so golf gets a minimal amounts of my free time. Knowing I could get an hour in a bay at midnight on a weekend, 5am before work and do some practise at anytime of the day is what appeals to me.

With this concept in mind, who would be keen to be a member of such a club? Don't care where you are from, just trying ti explore the concept more.

Thanks so much.

Does simulator data actually help you improve?

Honest question.

Has launch monitor feedback genuinely helped your game long term, or mostly just made practice more interesting?

I also think indoor golf simulation is becoming massively underrated

I also think indoor golf simulation is becoming massively underrated.

A lot of people assume it’s only for professionals or hardcore golfers, but honestly it’s one of the most relaxing and enjoyable activities even for beginners.

You can practice year-round, improve your swing using real analytics, play famous courses virtually, and turn golf into a social experience without needing perfect weather or spending hours at a course.

For people with stressful work schedules, it almost feels therapeutic. A mix of sport, focus, and relaxation.

Has anyone here tried modern golf simulators recently? Are they actually accurate compared to real course play?

Free Shortgame App with Sim Mode

Hey all — built a free short game practice app called Scoring Zone that works really well alongside sim sessions.

There's a Sim Lab mode designed specifically for indoor/launch monitor practice — structured drills for aimless wedge hits. Tracks your stats so you can see where you're actually losing shots. They are as follows

  • Dial in 20 Pitching
  • Accuracy Ladder
  • Random Pin Pitch Seeker
  • Chipping Proximity Gauntlet
  • Morrish shortgame challenge

Anyone who downloads it before official launch becomes a founding member and gets FREE LIFETIME USE. All I ask in return is some honest feedback, good or bad

look forward to your comments

Indoor short game facility

I’m considering moving back to the NE from the warmer south but am unwilling to give up practicing golf for 5 months a year so am trying to get a house where I can build out an indoor chipping / bunker complex. Does anyone know approx how much space I would need to do this right? Thanks!
