Which celebrity is way more famous than they deserve to be?
reddit.comwould most influencers quit instantly if social media hid all views and follower counts forever?
i honestly think this would destroy a huge part of influencer culture overnight. almost every creator says they “post because they love creating” but the second views drop, their mood changes completely. and i’m not even acting superior because i catch myself doing the exact same thing.
i’ve seen creators with good content spiral mentally after one bad week of engagement. people start overthinking captions, deleting posts, switching niches, posting more aggressively, checking analytics every hour etc. it stops feeling creative and starts feeling like a numbers addiction.
sometimes i wonder how many influencers actually enjoy making content vs how many are addicted to validation, attention, and comparing themselves to other creators constantly.
if instagram, TikTok, and YouTube removed all public likes, follower counts, and views tomorrow, do you think most influencers would still keep posting consistently or would a lot of creators quietly disappear?
