I’m an international student from India and I’ll be joining Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) for the International Automotive Engineering master’s program this winter.
I’m currently looking for affordable accommodation and would really appreciate any recommendations.
My preferences:
Budget: €350–500/month
Private room in a shared apartment (WG) or a student dorm
Furnished room preferred
Good public transport or cycling distance to THI
If anyone knows of available rooms, student residences, WhatsApp/Facebook groups, or reliable websites apart from WG-Gesucht, I’d be very grateful.

I recently got admitted to the Autonomous Vehicle Engineering (AVE) program at THI (tuition-exempt, which is a huge plus) and I want to get a realistic picture of the local job market before committing.

Obviously, Ingolstadt is a massive hub, but what’s the reality on the ground?

THI AVE Reputation: How is this specific program viewed by local employers? Does the curriculum's balance of hardware and software actually align with what teams need right now?

Hiring & Stability: Are companies actively recruiting for perception, prediction, and sensor fusion, or has the market cooled down?

Tech Focus: Is the effort going into actual L4 research, or is everything heavily shifted to scaling L2+/L3 for near-term production?

I have applied to TH Ingolstadt for a Master's in AI and received approval for all my documents via the PRIMUSS portal. My overall score is 1.7, calculated as 0.6 times my GPA plus 0.4 times my curriculum sheet grade.

As an ENTC bachelor’s graduate, Ingolstadt is my only admission option because other universities impose strict ECTS requirements, especially for theoretical CS courses. My commlative score is decent, but I am uncertain about my chances of acceptance.

Are you aware of any cutoff scores from previous cohorts?

Profile:

- 2.0 German Grade

- IELTS 7.0

- Bachelor in ENTC with approximately 60 ECTS in CS-related subjects

- 6-month Data Science Internship

- 1.7 years as an AI/ML engineer (full-time)

ich wohne in Unsernherrn, also ganz im Süden von Ingolstadt, und suche einen Park oder Platz in der Nähe mit Klimmzugstangen bzw. Barren für Calisthenics.

Hello everyone, I was planning a trip to Ingolstadt and I was thinking about renting a bike for 5 days (mon to fri). Does anyone have any recommendations on which sites I should check? The bike I am looking for is a non electric non city bike and possibly affordable. Thanks a lot in advance.

PS. I'd like to use the bike outside the city as well thus city rentals wouldn't cut it for me.

Since yesterday, It seems there has been an outage of all the Wi-Fi networks here in Ingolstadt.

I checked with different operators and networks across different locations but the same story.

If someone have some information then it'llbe great.

Wir wohnen im Norden und immer wieder breitet sich ein übler Mineralölgeruch aus. Meistens abends oder nachts. Es ist so stark, dass man die Fenster geschlossen halten möchte, was jetzt im Sommer gerade nachts keine Option ist. Ich habe bisschen recherchiert und nur alte Berichte gefunden, es wirkt so als wäre das für alle hier normal. Kennt ihr diesen Geruch und wisst mehr? Es wird safe die Gunvor Raffinerie sein, oder?

Hi, warum tut jeder aus Pius schnalzen? Also woher kommt diese „Tradition“ dass jeder in diesem Viertel sich gegenseitig anschnalzt? Hab da paar Leute in meiner Klasse und immer wenn die sich gegenseitig irgendwo sehen schnalzen die so richtig laut und die wissen dann dass Sie gemeint sind, schnalzen und begrüßen sich zurück. Piusviertel ist irgendwie eigen und anders..
