i want to put a fake holographic sticker on my fake album cover

Depois de anos distante do inkscape, resolvi retornar, principalmente ao ver os belíssimos trabalhos dos usuários dessa comunidade. A principio estou me familiarizando com alguns recursos, mas estou surpreso com as variedades de ferramentas implementadas apos a minha ultima visita.

Resolvi fazer uma ilustração simples de uma menininha...

I have created these pieces for an interlocking adjustable frame (to be laser cut) and would like to lengthen the pieces without distorting the tabs/blanks (the connecting parts).

Specifically I need to control the length to specific mm/cm/inch measurements from A to B on both sides of the green piece (and subsequently E to F, E to G and H-J/H-I) to make longer pieces.

I have tried adding nodes, splitting, joining with new segments but I either distort or can't control total length from point to point (which I need to make for example a 10 x 10" or 8x6"frame.

Which action(s) do I need to execute to achieve this? Grateful for clear steps!

Okay, to start with, I'm an utter novice at Inkscape. I may be good with computers, but a lot of this is "new and scary" to me.

I'm working with an existing design that I want to adjust. The red arrow is normally at the bottom of the sign pointing to the right.

I want to move it so it wraps around the sign like it shows in the second pic, but I can't figure out how to get the arrow path to adjust attach to the sign (which I'm sure is going to be complicated because I don't want it to *entirely* attach, I want it to not follow the SE curve much like it shows in the second image.

I'm aware that this is probably not a beginner question, but any suggestions are welcome. =D

There's not even shortcut tips beside the menu items.
Text can be entered into a text object in a document but nothing else, not CMD+O, S, 3, J, CMD+S, you name it; nothing works 😞

I've nuked "Users/Home/Library/Application Support/org.inkscape.Inkscape", no change.
I've nuked anything else I can find that's related to Inkscape, including updating it to 1.4.4

Is there something I've missed?
Is my OS too old to be compatible?

First time using Inkscape. Most of these shapes are drawn using bezier curves. The background(wood) is taken from the web.

I am making a design for a watch dial so this matters.

I at regular zoom everything looks correct, when I start hyper zooming in the shape starts to come in and out of distorted. I am assuming this is just some weird little thing within the software? At just 100% zoom is a non issue. When I export to PDF I dont see them.

Hi! I’m very new to embroidering but have tried Artspira and importing files onto my machine successfully. I am trying to make the Frieren staff and created one on Canva I am happy with but when I try to import it into Inkscape it comes up with a million layers/groups. I am also continuously getting an error message I have not gotten before on other attempts to digitize this art via PDFs. The error tells me “point array must contain 0 or >1 elements” but all of my objects have at least 2 nodes. If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

I'm new using this software and I want tiny edges like those in the first image. Though I could make some of them look like that, most of them just have round endings (yes, I'm using the inglete union)
