Making use of Blackwing 830-X garage
We recently bought an 830-X and mostly love it, but we’re struggling a little with how to make better use of the garage space.
We don’t haul an ATV or anything like that—we mainly use the garage for our kayaks while traveling. Once we’re set up at camp, though, we’d really like that area to feel more like living space. Ideally, we’d love to add a table and possibly some kind of seat or bench along the ramp door.
Has anyone modified their 830-X garage to make it more of a dining/hangout area? I’d love to see pictures of what you’ve done and hear what worked (or what you wouldn’t do again).
We’re also considering removing the jackknife sofas and replacing them with recliners. Has anyone done that? If so, what did you use and how did it work out?
Now that we’ve had the 830-X for a bit, part of us wonders if we should have gone with the Willow and figured out another way to carry the kayaks. But since we already have and really like the 830-X, we’d rather see what we can do to make the space work better for us.
One other thing: I’d like to put some type of clear plastic/vinyl curtain or screen across the garage opening so we can leave the ramp down, enjoy the air and view, but keep the bugs out. If anyone has done something similar, I’d love to see it!
Basically, show me your 830-X mods! Especially anything that makes the garage more comfortable and usable once you’re at camp.
