I Genuinely Don't Understand People Who Complain About Iron Man.

I come here as a tank player who is just extremely curious about why you think people still complain about your character. I think the hate is unjustified.

I go into quickplay frequently and see Lord Iron Mans run the lobby, and every single time, there's someone on my team who is screaming that someone needs to shoot the Iron Man or that Iron Man is broken when they get one that rolls the lobby. I see some people get absolutely melted by this guy, but honestly, I feel like that's just because people in this game simply don't know how to position and get cooked for it.

But I'm genuinely curious what y'all think and your experience with rolling in lobbies-- what enables you to kill people, and why do you think people struggle against your character even though he's not amazing?

How to easily counter Iron Fist. Use it sparingly so it doesn't become common knowledge and expected.

Quick Pest Lecture.

I have been sitting on this one for about a year now as to not make it common knowledge, but I figured it was about time to share this considering the damage that the nerfs have done to Stark at high ELO.

This works on an unsuspecting Iron Fist about 95% of the time. They will typically show you respect and leave you alone/swap, but if you do it enough they will eventually learn to either bait out overdrive, or to only engage you in a 2v1.

Obviously the missile tech will explode any squishy and is ideal for diving (WITH LOTS OF PRACTICE), however I personally believe it works best on Iron Fist, as it can be used much easier as a defensive measure rather than an offensive measure when he is involved. I explain below what is required and ideal for the kill.

Ideal Conditions: You should ideally be engaging Fist in a 1v1 on flat Ground or facing an incline while in the enemy backline. You would think that being around your healers should be the best scenario, but a good Fist will just soft engage and make you waste your overdrive before coming back to go knee deep up your ass. While you can be in your backline for this, isolation is key.

You can do this while flying below a platform, however it is a little bit trickier/inconsistent and requires practice.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Spot Iron Fist. The more time you have before he gets to you, the better. Sometimes you don't have a lot of time, and that is okay, but it means that you need to have good muscle memory to react quickly.
  2. Isolate yourself. 99% of the player base underestimates you until you give them a reason not to. Depending on your playstyle prior to your engagement with Fist, he likely thinks that you will be a free pick/ult charge. When you isolate yourself, he will get even more confident, leading him to hard commit right into a consistent 75% to 100% health one/two shot.
  3. Activate overdrive. If this Fist is smart and knows that you are about to Thanos snap his ass, he will retreat, and you have an opportunity to disappear silently, or barrel back to your team. If the poor bastard has no clue what is about to hit him and continues to beeline it towards you, he may as well be dead already.
  4. As soon he is locked on to you, ideally flat on the ground, look straight down while pointing Iron Man towards Fist and pop the missiles.

4b. If the missiles don't completely pulverize him like in the clip above, you can either repulsor him, typically once, or beam his ass to death. I highly recommend getting consistent with repulsors at close range for characters like the Rodent. While he was nerfed and can no longer 3 tap a 275, he can still 3 tap a 250 and 4 tap/3 tap + beam/melee and 275.

  1. If his corpse hasn't been eradicated, engage in light necrophilia for ragebait purposes before quickly fleeing behind cover.

  2. Use the manpower advantage + your weird ass positioning advantage to fix the enemy that your team is actively routing towards you. You can prevent them from safely retreating with your unibeam, and your frontline can easily use the proceeding panic and small, but teamscale damage coming from their asshole to finish the enemy team and take the objective.

How to die less?

Hi guys! Ive been playing IronMan for a few months now. Just hit Lord on him yesterday. Overal I really enjoy playing him, his kit is fun (although countered by a few too many things). I always run the Thor team up, regardless of if I have a Hulk or Thor on my team.

Now here's the issue. Im a Plat II player, but I really wamt to climb. I get MVP/SVP about half my games, with most kills and damage too for most of them. However I dont know if I am playing him wrong, or too agressive, but I seem to die A LOT. Some games are fine, but other Ill have about half my kills in deaths if not more. Ill run 40/20/0, and we'll win, but I just think if I died less the games would be over sooner and I'd have a hogher WR overal.

My main strategy near the start of the game, or when we're struggling to push, is where I'll quietly fly behind the enemy team. Use my E empowered laser to take down the healers and as many small champs as possible. If I get caught here its basically impoaaible to escape. However even if I fight with my team I seem to get picked off easy.

I'll fly above my team, Im an easy target and get shot, but even if Im in front of my healers, behind my tanks I just die so quickly.

Any advice? Should I just duo queue up with a support teammate so I can give calls when I need healing? Or are there some tips you guys can give me for better positioning / getting out of fights?

Thanks!

[Serious Bug] Iron Man Ult Not Registering in Latest Patch

Iron Man ult isn't registering its hit in current patch. First clip target was Deadpool, which I accepted maybe was a bit fuzzy. But the second occurrence against CnD confirmed the ult is bugged and unusable right now

I still think its weird that ironman has 250 hp

Every since i know the character he's been eating missiles, tank cannons, blows by characters like thanos and hulk, lasers of all kinds too

He's one if not the character that represents resistense the most (to me)

And his media constantly depict tony as an unwielding fighter who can adapt and find a solution to almost anything, finding a way even when he doesn't have his armor in top condition

So getting into rivals and seeing a literal k-pop idol with more Hp than him weirds me out

Shouldn't ironman at least have 300 hp? Is that too crazy to ask?

Punisher is arguably better at everything, damage both close and long range, hp and survibability, and his ult is much less situational too

Why can't ironman, IRON man, have more HP that some guy with a bullet proof vest and a damn kpop singer???

Kinda would argue the same for ultron, as they seem to be against him having anything better than other healers, i'd make him somewhat tanky too, but that's besides the point, i'd just be happy if ironman actually had 300 or 350 hp

Just got Lord, celebrating with a highlight

It's fun not bothering with competitive and just sticking with QP. Sure, I get hard countered sometimes but the nerfs didn't feel too bad as long as I stuck with my team instead of shooting from low orbit and spammed the thor beam on anything in range.

Onward to squirrel girl!

the carry potential on the big iron is CRAZY

always on thor teamup even if hulk on my team

Jarvis add another 0 to my paycheck and change my name to Doom. (Art by me)

100 hours on Iron Man and I never knew his unibeam pierces.

I checked the Marvel Rivals website and it doesn't anything about it. Small detail but changes how I play him sometimes. I can stand with or behind my team on the X axis and pierce the entire enemy team if I need to if there's a brawl.

I finally did it.

Finally FINALLY hit lord iron man.

If I learned anything from this it’s that the unibeam is genuinely his best attack and better then his main repulsor blasts. I was in a good spot because I was able to lord iron man and Jeff in the same week because of how high level they are.

Now onto lord Hulk.

Jarvis, I need a grip.

So my computer decided about two weeks ago to just give up the ghost and flatline, but the Ironman grind never stops.

Started playing on console and OH MY GOD. I can’t aim to save my life (and my backline). I can’t do the jiggle movement, I can’t do ANYTHING I was able to pull off on PC.

For some context I was a celestial, I played Ironman as my main DPS on the rare occasion I didn’t need to fill tank. So I was decent, I did well with IM in that rank despite nearly every character on the roster being able to literally think me out of existence. The last time I played a console shooter was COD BO2, am I old? I might be old, my stem cells aren’t quite what they used to be.

PLEASE fellas, give me some tips, how to jiggle, how to SURVIVE out here, I’m not even wood rank anymore, I’m a damn Amoeba 3 player now.

I don’t want to be a bot anymore.
