Filth

Found filth a lot harder to get into at first than MSN. A lot of the first half is just repetitive with Bruce meeting up with Toal and eating sausage rolls etc which I get is the point but whatever. I had seen the movie beforehand so knew the outlines of the plot from that but enjoyed the detail and cut-out stuff a lot more. They definitely try to make Bruce more likeable in the film (e.g. the scene with Conrad Donaldsons daughter is a lot tamer than in the book) for movie purposes but I don’t remember them going into any of the stuff with his father. Ending hit harder than any of his other work I’ve read so far though. Definitely took a toll (Toal?) on me so gonna leave Welsh alone for a bit. Maybe pick up the Mr. Men books again as a palate cleanser? Thank you all for commenting along my little Welsh fixation, same rules apply!
