This is a remake of my very first comparison i posted here in this beautiful community of subreddit 6 months ago, i made it as an huge thank you all for seeing all my J2ME game versions comparison videos and commenting them, Long Live J2MEGaming! 😉
BTW, this only affects the 2D versions of these games.
Hi everyone,
I built a small web-based tool that allows you to compile Java ME (J2ME) applications directly in the browser.
It is focused only on the build/compilation side, not runtime emulation.
✨ What it does:
Online compilation of Java ME (MIDP/CLDC-style) Java code
Generates .jar build outputs in the browser environment
Lightweight workflow for experimenting with legacy Java mobile projects
No installation required
🧠 Why I built it:
J2ME development tools today are outdated, heavy, and difficult to set up.
I wanted to create a simple way to:
quickly compile old Java ME projects
reduce dependency on legacy SDKs
explore retro mobile development workflows in a modern browser
⚠️ Notes:
This is compile-only (no emulator / no runtime execution)
Still experimental
Compatibility depends on code structure
👉 If anyone is interested, I can share the link in comments.
Is there any progress in j2me emulation on R36s?
I tried running j2me games on my device.
This question is specific to Pro evolution Soccer (all years) 240x320.
Other resolution versions of this game run on device with cut screens.
But240x320 gets stuck on title screen.
Fyi, I have run other games on this device with 240x320 and they run fine. I have also tried to run pes 240x320 on pc and android, it runs smoothly there.
The issue is definitely with emulation not the file or device.
I have attached g drive link for anyone to try.
Please let me know if anyone knows a workaround for this.
Hey everyone.
I’ve been working on a small J2ME “emulator” for a handheld console and now I want to test how it behaves with different games.
Most common/popular games already work fine, but I’m pretty sure there are some especially problematic or technically difficult J2ME games that tend to break emulators.
Could you recommend some examples for testing?
Preferably relatively popular games so I can properly test compatibility and edge cases.
Don’t suggest DoJa games.
I wanna download the 640×360 version of it because in Iniche.cn, the download is locked by logging in and donating, so I wanna download 640×360 version of the game without log in, without donate, just download.
High School Hook Ups looks so beautiful in my R36s
I'm looking to download Thiên Binh Thần Kiếm, but the original website, https://giaitri321.pro/game-offline/gamehay/2/thien-binh-than-kiem/ThienBinh\_ThanKiem\_240x320.jar is shut down again!!!!! So can you help me find the original version and not that translated Vietnamese version, or the game is actually Vietnamese already.
Enjoy! What I did to make it write everything X! I deleted all the lang files except lang.te-IN and this what resulted. I originally wanna play Bounce Tales in different languages without changing my device language.
I'm wondering how will J2ME games looks like on CRT TV. If you know, please tell me where I can play J2ME games on a CRT TV. Without Casting our phone.
The S60 3ed version of the game adds weather changes to every race, shadows to the map objects and cars, and, the most badass extra thing for me, a slow-motion effect when you make your enemy's car crash or explode (although you can disable it in the game's options menu).
And ignore all the sounds that is not music, because I forgot to change the Screen Recording settings to System Sounds.
It's the most boring game I've ever played.
Why in J2ME Loader, when a game music loops, it stops about 1 second, and then loops again, stops about 2 seconds in some J2ME games. But in an actual Nokia phone and in a soundfont, it loops perfectly, no gap!
