Would this placement work with the N3 ultimate?

Hi all, looking for some advice.

My 120” fixed frame screen is basically locked in at this point. I’ve got towers on both sides and a center speaker underneath, so there isn’t really anywhere else for the screen to go.

There’s a track light running down the middle of the ceiling, pretty much right where I’d want a centered mount. It’s also the main lighting for the room and we use it every day, so taking it down just for the projector isn’t really happening.

The spot that works best would put the lens around 10.5 ft from the screen and about 16–18” off center. I’ve been looking at the N3 Ultimate since it has lens shift and optical zoom, but I’m not sure how far I can actually shift the image sideways.

Trying to avoid keystone if I can. Think that offset is manageable, or am I pushing it?

100'' TV or 130'' projector from about 11tf away?

I'd get both if I could, but I'm only buying one right now. I was pretty set on the 100'' Hisense U6 Pro, then I measured the room again and started thinking maybe I should just go bigger if this is mostly for movies.

The room is about 15 x 18 ft and the couch is roughly 11 ft from the screen wall. With the N3 Ultimate I should be able to get around 130”, which sounds great, but I’m also wondering if that’s getting a little too big from where I sit. The U6 Pro being a 100” Mini-LED at around the same price makes this harder than I expected. I mostly watch at night, so I keep going back and forth between the blacks and HDR on the TV and having that much more screen with the projector. Anyone sitting around 11 ft from a 120–130” screen? Curious if 130” starts feeling like too much at that distance.

Fan whine issue N1S 4K

Ordered this unit a couple of weeks ago. On first use it was completely silent, but since then the fan has developed a constant, high-pitched whine. It’s genuinely uncomfortable to listen to and is clearly audible even during quiet scenes in movies.

Is this level of fan noise normal, or does it sound like a faulty fan that should be replaced under warranty?

Video was recorded when the projector was off as it randomly turns on for a couple of seconds during the night waking me up. But the noice is the same as when in use!

JMGO N3 ULTIMATE CEILING HELP

Hello fellow JMGO users!

I recently got a JMGO N3 Ultimate on sale and have been trying to get it to project into the ceiling. However every time I hit the AI mode it tries to project it down onto a wall. Any tips here? I also want to know if you guys have any tips / best color set up suggestions as my blacks seem... splotchy?

Pixelshader for brighter video to use with Jmgo n1s 4k

// $MinimumShaderProfile: ps_2_0

#define Screen 0.40

/* --- tooDark (dx9) --- */

/* v1.40 (2023-07) released by butterw under GPLv3

(1 texture, 3 arithmetic)

Apply when the picture is too dark.

Increases brightness without clipping (Black point and White point are unchanged).

Photoshop Screen Blend, brightness/contrast curve:

out = -Screen*x*x + (1+Screen)*x = -Screen*x^2 +Screen*x +x

with x, out: pixel.rgb in [0, 1.0]

and Screen >=0

parameter Screen [-1, 1.0], 0: no effect.

>> Positive: (Screen Blend) increases brightness, increases constrast in shadows, ex: 0.24

- Brightness increase is maximum at the mid-point (Screen/4).

- Contrast = 1+Screen -2*Screen*x

Contrast is maximum at the Black point (1+Screen) and decreases linearly with input level.

Contrast:1 at the mid-point.

negative: (Multiply Blend) decreases brightness, increases contrast in highlights.

*/

sampler s0: register(s0);

#define Multiply -Screen //to ensure a positive user parameter.

float4 main(float2 tex: TEXCOORD0): COLOR {

float4 c0 = tex2D(s0, tex);

c0.rgb = lerp(c0, c0*c0, Multiply).rgb;

return c0;

}

Still haven’t bothered replacing my curtains

Before I got the n3 ultimate, I was pretty sure I’d end up buying blackout curtains. I kept seeing people talk about blackout curtains and dark walls whenever I looked up projector setups. Two months later and I’m still using the same thin curtains in the living room. They still let some light through when they’re closed, but it really hasn’t bothered me much. Maybe the screen is helping too.

Most of my movie watching is at night anyway, and I’ll sometimes turn the brightness down a bit. I still use the projector during the day sometimes and it’s been fine. Direct sunlight is obviously a different story, but outside of that I haven’t really had an issue. So far I haven’t seen much reason to replace them.

N3 Ultimate owners: PS5 through the AVR or direct?

Getting my N3 Ultimate set up right now. Apple TV and UB820 are both going through the AVR, and I was going to do the same with the PS5. The N3 supports VRR, so I’d like to keep that working. I’ve seen a few people connect the console straight to the projector though, usually because the AVR causes handshake or VRR issues.

Anyone here running a PS5 through an AVR into the N3 Ultimate? Curious if everything’s been working normally or if you ended up going direct instead.

Hi everyone - help with apparent dead/frozen pixel N1ultra

Hi Everyone,
Hoping to get further help from the community as JMGO’s customer service has been less than helpful. I provided all the information they asked and was met with “reboot, move the device “ then “sorry you are outside of the 1 year warranty”. I know things happen, but this is not a primary media device for me with limited hours on it. It was a kickstarter model but I’d love to be able to fix as I’m not in a position to buy an all new projector.

I saw elsewhere that the chips are a standard Texas instrument model and can possibly be fixed. JMGo said I could package up and ship back to them but they haven’t told me how much to expect in terms of repair costs so if any one has suggestions state side I would appreciate it
