Reacher Season 2 is such a gigantic letdown - WHAT HAPPENED?
I'm not even really interested in discussing "whether" it was bad because I don't know how anyone could think otherwise. Disclosure: I really enjoyed Season 1. Each episode was a nice setup for another piece of the puzzle and Ritchson really embodies this character (literally). I didn't love the finale, but I was fine with continuing.
Season 2 is a dumpster fire. It's like every episode the writers find new ways to be idiots. The character and this world are ruined now as far as I'm concerned.
My favorite part is how they continually repeat trite isms like "In an investigation, details matter" like actual twelve-year-olds writing a school essay, and meanwhile the fight choreography and plot logic is some of the worst on TV. I just got to the fight on the bus. One of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
Reacher would be shot dead by now like 50 times, and the villains are idiots too. Neely is insufferable, like literally every line was written by a smug 50-year-old dude trying to get street cred with Nintendo kids. The show literally will not stop repeating that she's a "genius" for noticing the simplest friggin' things.
It's beyond mind-numbing and robs Reacher himself of all depth and believability. My favorite part so far is when he "deduces" that a guy wasn't lying because he was a fire fighter and "those guys have honor" or something like that. Actually wtf.
The ONLY decent character is Detective Russo. Even if the writing staff was the same, this could have been ten times better if you got rid of the team of smug twelve-year-old adults and just had Reacher and Russo running around this whole time.
Even if Season 3-4 are better, I may not even care. The drop-off from S1 to S2 is THAT huge. All I really want to know is if someone has an autopsy report for me. What happened? What writer/showrunner is making this like, bottom of the barrel action slop for geezers? This is like the quality of the movies my Grandpa gets from Redbox after picking up his prescription, only this takes 8 hours to finish and it used to be something good.
At what point do I accept Jack Reacher is a homeless serial killer?

The Midnight Line: Life in rural areas
Hey everyone,
Currently I am re-reading The Midnight Line which takes place mostly in Wyoming. I read that the whole state has as many inhabitants as my city district (I live in the edge of a huge European city) while being the size of Great Britain.
Now I wonder what life is like in Wyoming? Is it truly as rural as described in the books? What does a typical day off look like in those areas? What about emergencies? How long does police take to arrive at a callers location? I find all of this so very interesting. I grew up outside of the city with the option to drive 20 minutes to be in the center of pandemonium. Living far away from everything seems really calming.

oulu.fiQuestion to the people who read every book!
As far as I know, there’s still no confirmation that season 5 is the last, so I was wondering which books you would consider the easiest to adapt into a season? And which books are basically impossible? I’ve heard that the book “61 Hours” is a fan favorite but impossible to adapt into a season due to the extreme snow. I can’t judge that, so I’d love to hear the thoughts of people who have read every (or most) of the books.

Still within Episode 3 and these phrases have found a unique spot in the story.
Many times, it's very direct - easy for everyone to connect to real world incidents.
How do you see this affecting the entire audience?
To be honest, I love it when writers mix the reality where it's relevant.
what other reacher books must i read?
i've read several of the reacher books and enjoy them, but they also follow a formula for the most part. i have no interest in reading all of them, but do want to read the ones considered the best. here are the ones i've read, and let me know if there are 2-3 others that are musts (and for god's sake no one say "read them all"):
persuader
the enemy
one shot
bad luck and trouble
gone tomorrow
61 hours (currently reading)
no plan b
in too deep
i've liked them all, but my favorite has probably been the enemy because of how it brought in reacher's family life. it made it feel different.
Which book has the big dude with the house that’s 50% larger than normal?
I vaguely remember a book where Readher figures out his pistol barrel fits between the door and frame of an open door because the entire house is larger than normal, because the crime boss dude who lives there is massive. Which book is that?
Dick Hill Neagley Pronunciation
Does this ever change? I got into reacher through the show and am now listening to the books in order. Currently on without fail and it takes me out of the story every time he says NEG-LEE.
What’s a book you think won’t get made into a season that’s still good?
I was thinking of reading tripwire some fans said it’s a sleeper. There is prob 2/3 more seasons
What was the last book written by Lee alone (officially and not) and when the brother came in?
I read just a few (close to 10) years back and stopped because life happened, the same formula. Not too fond of violence. I forgot until TV series reminded me. Anyone would tell when "prime" or above average Reacher ends? (was there a sudden fall in quality)?
Reacher new season (4) sucks
I started out loving this series, but now it's just getting cheesy. It's annoying that Reacher just looks at everyone he sees and is able to tell their life story. It's also annoying that they make the other male cop a total dumbass. The whole is just bad TV.. and yes, I've read the books.
Why is Jack struggling in every fight this season?
He’s barely winning and he basically lost to guy in last episode if not saved by Lila. In early seasons he dodged lot of hits and went for crucial weak points like knees

Reacher’s suicide warning should include 988
I appreciate that Reacher included a warning about suicide and self-harm before the episode. However, after watching the episode, I felt the warning was not enough.
If an episode contains suicide content significant enough to warrant a warning, I think viewers should also be given an immediate crisis resource. Including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline would be a simple but important addition.
As a licensed clinical social worker, I know that unexpected exposure to suicide content can be particularly difficult for people who have experienced suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, trauma, or the loss of someone to suicide.
I'm not suggesting the scene should be removed or that the show shouldn't depict difficult subjects. I'm suggesting viewers should have enough information to make an informed decision about watching the content—and, if it affects them, a resource for immediate support.
I’m curious what other viewers think: Was the suicide warning before the episode sufficient, or should 988 or another crisis resource have been included?
