Deposit required for master control?

I went to a boutique today and for the first time I was asked for a deposit to be put on the waitlist for the new mastercontrol date of 30% with no definite delivery date

Even vc asks for a deposit only when they have allocated which is 2 months before pick up

My question is - is this the same experience for the rest of the world? Im located in singapore

[Tribute Duoface] Best way to clean polished surface?

Hey I need some advice on cleaning the polished surfaces. I do use microfiber on satin finishes but worried it might scratch this surface.

Should I just ask the JLC boutique to clean it every few months or so?

Is there any better solutions other than microfiber cloths?

Large Reverso Thoughts?

Tried on the Classic Reverso Small Seconds

For context, I have a 6.5in wrist and this is the large size.

Was not able to try anything smaller and unsure if this is too big.

thoughts?

Looking for a steel strap for my JLC 140.8.87

Hey,

I am looking for a metal strap, preferably BoR.
I cant seem to find any that fit, Forstner responded that theirs would not fit. It’s a 2005 model with 19mm lugs.

Thanks in advance

Duomètre straps in non leather material, anyone?

Hey community,

I love my Duomètre, but wearing it in summer/spring is not something I enjoy as I tend to sweat. I was considering sailcloth, got some from Aliexpress to try, but I actually do not like it.

Has anyone tried to have some different strap to wear the Duomètre in more warmer days?

Strap recommendations for a 2017 Master Calendar?

Hello all,

I'm awaiting delivery on a 2017 Master Calendar (Ref: Q1558420), and would like to change the strap to something in either green or navy blue. I've read various things about strap compatability, namely that the lug holes are closer to the body than many watches, and some mixed reports on whether a curved/rounded end is required.

So, firstly is anybody able to confirm any of the above points on compatability?

Secondly, does anyone have any specific brand recommendations, or perhaps Etsy sellers? I'm in the UK and have anywhere between £50-150 to spend. Ideally looking for something leather but if prices aren't awful i'd be open to a sail cloth strap for weekend wear.

[Question] Which watch should I buy?

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to buy a new watch and I can’t decide which one to buy between these 2 watches,

Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Mariner Date & Zenith Defy Skyline, both with blue dials!

I’m really torn and would love some input from the community to help me decide. Thanks in advance!

Reverso Classique VS Classic Medium Monoface

Hello

I’m considering upgrading my Reverso Classique 250.8.08 to a Reverso Classic Medium Q2518540 because the Classique is starting to feel just a bit too small on my 17.5 cm (6.9”) wrist.

The dimensions from what i found are:

- Classique 250.8.08: 23.1 × 38.5 mm, 17 mm lug width

- Classic Medium Q2518540: 24.4 × 40.2 mm, 18 mm lug width

On paper the difference still seems relatively small, so I’m wondering if the Medium actually wears noticeably larger in real life or if it’s barely noticeable on the wrist?

Would love to hear from anyone who has tried or owned both.

How did you start your journey with a JLC? Heart to heart sharing :)

While there’s so many brands of watches to choose from, and jlc may not be the brand or watch that holds its value well. What got you into this brand? Would be great if everyone can share their experience and perhaps even share a picture of your joy.

[Recommendation] Overseas Vs JLC +(price consideration)

Considering a new watch to add my collection, i have been considering Overseas blue dial vs the JLC reverso medium (Blue-white) which i miss the dial guilloche in classic large or better smaller size. Reverso also competes with White dial moonphase or mastercontrol calendar.
The price is double ofcourse in favor of overseas so im between the VC or JLC+ panomatic lunar Glasshütte or Cartier dumont.

I also have tried the Trilobe dune (photo attached) and it is mesmerizing but warranty is only 2 years for a new brand with price more than JLC.

Appreciate your insights.

Need help identifying.

My grandfather had this watch that was given to him by a friend that passed away. He gave it to me years ago, I put it in a box not knowing anything about it. He has now passed and I stumbled back across this watch going through a box.

I don’t know a ton about watches especially these. I am struggling to find a reference number or even where to begin on identifying this watch and knowing what it’s worth.

I was hoping someone on here has knowledge on this watch, what I’ve got and what it’s even valued at?

Help is much appreciated, thanks.
