Jake and Quaritch reacting to Pandora's wildlife joining the battle
What do we think was going through their heads in these moments?
There’s a very similar kind of awe on both of their faces, just from completely opposite sides of the conflict lol.
In both scenes, they are witnessing the full power of Pandora and the unity with which even the wildlife rises to defend its homeland, something that would be almost unthinkable on Earth. It’s not just animals attacking at random, there is intelligence guiding the attack - they know who the bad guys are, even if they look like one of their own.
For Jake in A1, what did that moment mean beyond simple relief of seeing the reinforcements arriving? Was it perhaps validation? The realization that Eywa had heard him after all - that he was worthy of being listened to?
And then there’s Recom Quaritch in A3. He has no memory of experiencing this moment the first time around, but he must have heard about it somehow. What must it feel like to witness it with his own new eyes now? Could it open him up to the idea of allowing himself to truly see?
And how did this moment affect Varang? She's smart, so she must understand what is going on. How will this realization affect her stance on Eywa and the fact that Eywa "chose to ignore her people" (as far as she understands it) while she actively sent help to Toruk Makto not once, but twice?
To Making It Count
Rose did everything she and Jack dreamed of: fishing, flying a plane, riding horses “like a man,” and even roller coasters. Each picture near her bedside at the end of the film is a silent tribute to the life she embraced, honoring the promise she made to Jack. If you think about it, Rose lived one of the most incredible lives you could live. She damn well made sure his sacrifice wasn’t in vain.

James Cameron on his interest in directing solo “Jar Jar Binks” film (The Guardian)
Excerpt from the Guardian:
“Interviewer: Have you ever considered doing a Star Wars film with all your experience in Sci-Fi? Could that be a possibility?
Cameron: Believe it or not, I actually am a big fan of George Lucas’ prequel trilogy. I ask him questions about it all the time. One character that sticks out like a sore thumb, to me that’s a good thing, but it’s Jar Jar Binks. I think what they had planned for that character never came to fruition because audiences weren’t ready for him at the time. Any new character that was introduced especially in TPM received a lot of polarizing reactions. But the backstory I became more aware of through George is actually quite fascinating. I can’t say for sure, but I will tell you I would be very interested in developing a Jar Jar Movie.
Interviewer: Wow! I think a lot of people may be surprised by that.
Cameron: Let them be surprised! That’s the power of movies. It’s always a ‘wait and see’ until you see it. Then people can tell me how they feel about it. When the movie is actually done and playing in cinemas.”
What do you all think of this interview? Would a Jar Jar movie actually work with Cameron at the helm?
Titanic - An evergreen romantic movie
Today I happened to read a book in a library about Titanic ship. It reminded me of this classic movie of all time. I watched it with my family in my childhood. It was our family's very first movie outing together for a Hollywood movie. And it was indeed an unforgettable experience.
Everything was perfect in the movie right from the gala surrounding the commencement of journey to the pleasant romantic encounter between Jack and Rose to the ice Berg collision and finally the sinking of the ship. The fact that the entire story was narrated by Rose after surviving the disaster makes it even more intriguing.
The bgm, songs, cinematography and everything was top notch indeed. Tears flooded our eyes when they showed the ship's current pathetic condition in comparison with how it started the ride. The collision with ice Berg, sea water entering inside the ship's cabin and the subsequent ship wreckage was shot in a realistic manner.
The nude painting scene was an instant hit among the youth and the hero and heroine making out inside a secret chamber of the ship made the movie ever so popular among everyone. James Cameron might have become popular among 2K kids because of his Avatar movies. But this Titanic movie is what made him the legend he is today and it can never ever be forgotten by 90s kids like me!!!
Roxto has some pretty cool stripes.
Theatrical Cut vs. Director’s Cut, Aliens fans, it’s time to choose.
James Cameron’s Aliens (1986) is a sci-fi masterpiece in both versions but the Director’s Cut (aka Special Edition) adds scenes that change everything. From Ripley’s lost daughter to the sentry gun sequence, it’s deeper, darker, and more emotional.
Which version do you prefer and why? Do the added scenes enhance the story, or does the original pacing hit harder??
