Just another question regarding JEE

To all the people who attempted the JEE exam, just a quick question. Do all the things which you guys study for the jee exam like the portions, concepts, etc., actually help you in college or it doesn't matter at all?

Built a JEE Physics app after 10 years of classroom teaching — not trying to sell anything, just sharing what I made

I taught JEE Physics for about 10 years — FIITJEE Chennai, then Modulus Hyderabad. Left institutional teaching to build something on my own terms.

The result is an app called Physics with Rakesh. One subject, one teacher, built carefully.

What it has:

Concept videos and MCQ practice — single correct, multiple correct, integer type

Questions split by difficulty: concept level, Mains level, Advanced level

Buoyancy concept is free, do test it to get a feel of the app.

It's not trying to compete with the big platforms. It's just Physics, done properly, by someone who's spent a long time teaching it in classrooms.

If big-platform teaching feels a bit assembly-line, this might be worth trying. The free concept is there.

Happy to answer Physics questions or anything about the app.

Pls help

I am a student who has recently moved to Kota for JEE preparation. I am genuinely trying my best to study. Even when I do not feel motivated I force myself to sit for 6 to 7 hours and focus on my studies.

Despite this effort my first test result was disappointing I scored only 80 out of 300. This has made me worried and confused. I see other students who study less than me and spend time on their phones yet they still score better and rank higher than me.

This situation is affecting my confidence. I keep thinking about what will happen if this continues. I am putting in effort but I am not seeing results. I am also struggling to solve module questions properly which adds to my frustration.

Right now I feel stuck and unsure about what I am doing wrong even though I am trying sincerely.

Need Guidance for a rural background child

In the NGO that I teach, there is a brilliant and hardworking girl. She scored 87 percent in class 10th. Belongs to the drought affected region of Maharashtra.

She is interested in Science/ mathematics/economics. Her relatives are forcing her to take admission in a nearby polytechnic college saying that 11th and 12th will waste her one year.

Now, for a girl like her it's a downgrade. If she takes up 12th then she can give various entrance exams like jee, cuet etc.

I am urging jer parents to let her take 12th std.

Now, the problem is coaching. She can afford online coaching.

Please tell which coaching would be better for online where there is consistency in teaching, the syllabus gets covered properly and proper conceptual understanding.

Would Physics Wallah be good?

She has assured me that she can study at home for 2 years. She is really high on motivation.

Also, she belongs to the NT category in maharashtra and OBC in Central caste.

Can any maharashtra candidates tell if with a decent score and NT category is COEP/VJTI possible?

Please share your strategies also that you followed for JEE preparation.

I really want her to get her foot in the right college.

The Hidden reason most JEE aspirants fail even after studying 6-8 hours a day

Most students, while preparing for competitive exams, simply purchase a coaching course, buy some books, and start studying without a plan or deep knowledge of the exam requirements. They take the planning of their study schedule very lightly, leading to major issues like massive backlogs, skipped topics, and an inability to dedicate time to their weaknesses.

The Problem: Tracking vs. Just Studying The second major issue is Tracking. Tracking your preparation is the only way to plan better. Without it, you are flying blind. Proper tracking gives you a clear idea of exactly what you have studied and, most importantly, helps you identify your weaknesses. Most students cannot even find their weak points, let alone master them. If you track your weaknesses and work systematically to improve them, you will naturally move into the bracket of top students.

The "Right Path" for Preparation:

Before diving into any chapter, you must check the data: all topics, chapters, the number of students appearing, and the available seats.

The Manual Execution Framework:

  1. The Master List: In a notebook, write down every chapter and topic name.
  2. The Three Labels: Mark every topic with one of these three:
    • Studied: You understand it; it just needs revision.
    • Not Studied: These must go into your immediate action plan.
    • Mastered: These only need a final revision after the full syllabus is done.
  3. Monthly Goals & Milestones: Write down 5 goals for the month. Break these into 4 weekly milestones with checkboxes. For better clarity, break those weeks down into a 7-day daily action plan.
  4. Daily Execution: Follow the plan and check off your tasks daily.
  5. Micro-Reviews: While studying, write a small review next to the topic name. Record your accuracy, speed, and understanding after solving questions. This data is what tells you exactly where you are failing.

If you follow this for just 3 months, you will be miles ahead of where you are now.

Why I am writing this:

I realized that doing all this manually in a notebook is exhausting and takes away precious study time. I wanted to automate this "Study Operating System" so students can focus on learning while the system handles the planning and tracking.

I am building Prepex to solve this. It’s an AI-powered execution engine that does all this tracking for you (without the notebook hassle).

If you have any queries, questions, or opinions, let’s discuss them in the comments!

I hope to find someone who can hear me

Same story, overachiever from the beginning.... 97 in 10th.... choose JEE... wanted to chase dreams of doing electronics and work in the space sector...got 83 % in class 11 with first rank.... 23k in jee... 90 in boards.... might look good to some but not to my parents who think its either IITB, IITK, IIST or I am doomed for life. I am getting like 80 marks in adv mocks. i dont wanna revise... i have forgotten all the stuff... i have no more energy left in me... i wanna die... from the past 2 hours i am just searching for ways to suicide and crying continuously... today too everyone was so sad and saying kam marks hai itne kam expect ni kiye the... jee adv mai achha karna... but jee mai idts ki i will even qualify... ig i will have to commit suicide by 1st june cuz i really have no power left. i have been carrying myself for 2 years now, crying at midnights, no friend who hears me, no one who believes me, even i dont believe myself now, my parents were happy with my brother scoring 84, but with my 90 (3rd in school btw) they are unhappy, i got full marks in english, by readng the post you would know that how bad i am at it and still somehow in the only english exam i gave in 2 years, i got a 100, unfortunately due to this sysetem (which includes all, the parents, the teachers, CBSE, NTA, coachings, influencers) which has somehow normalised air 1, idts i would even be able to see my merit certificate, hope the rest of my strength reaches to someone who needs it like me and hopefully they dont have to take any extreme steps...
