And so it begins …

And so it begins …

What the fuck does this mean? It came up twice while driving, then also mentioned something about a seat belt buckle, I bought this POS brand new last September, trust me I didn’t know shit about how trash jeep compass’s are. This is a 2025 altitude.

I had the jeep compass north before I bought this, in August. Funny thing is the north only lasted 900KM before I got a check engine light, long story short the #2 Cylinder got coolant inside causing it to hydro lock and a bunch of other things, I only had the car for two weeks at that point, they ended up giving me a whole different trim cause of how heated I came into the dealership after them saying your getting a engine swap.

2024 and 2025 Compass Owners: How has your experience been?

I'm considering a 2024 or 2025 used Compass, both with low mileage. My only concern is of course reliability, can anyone please share their experience as an owner? How have things been?

Car wouldn't start then it did, why/how?

I have a 2018 Jeep Compass. I drove my car like normal, parked, went inside a store.

Came back to the car and it wouldn't start. I tried a few times nothing. By pure luck there was an advanced auto within walking distance. I went there and they said they can't even change the battery unless it's in front of the store.

So I went back to the car, found a random guy that would help me push it for some cash. I went back to my car and lo and behold it started.

The battery was changed in January 2023, so 3 years and 4 months. I would guess it's time to change the battery regardless. But why did the car not start all of a sudden despite multiple attempts then after 10-20 minutes start again like nothing happened?

Could this be just the battery? Or something more sinister?

Start/stop battery issue

So I have a 2021 Jeep Compass. The start/stop function stopped working, and following that the main battery started to get drained every morning. I replaced both batteries, but the start/stop still didn't work. It also kept saying the new auxiliary battery was dead and needed a charge. A few months went by alright, but that main battery is being drained again.

I tried just taking the auxiliary out entirely, but it wouldn't start or even turn on without the aux hooked up.

Any ideas what it might be?

2018 Compass Transmission PM

Car idiot here…
The automatic transmission in my 2018 Compass has been acting weird more and more frequently. The check engine light will come on, and then I can’t get the transmission to shift beyond 3rd. It’ll max out at 3,000rpm and about 33 mph. I can usually solve the problem by stopping, shifting from drive to park to reverse a few times. Then stopping and starting the engine. The check engine like will usually stay on, but I’ll be able to shift beyond 3rd. I have an OBD gizmo that is exactly no help, as it’ll give me no error codes when the CE light is on.
There’s no dip stick do the transmission, so I have no idea of the fluid status. It seems dumb to have a closed system like this, maybe I’m missing something.
Is there a way to PM my transmission fluid, or transmission itself, without potentially wrecking my car due to being an ICU nurse and not a mechanic?

Jeep Compass 2018, petrol automatic, 73k driven

Hi all, need your suggestions on buying my first car. This Jeep Compass is driven 73k km, petrol automatic, and the asking price is ₹6.8L negotiable. What would the running/maintenance cost look like, and would this be a good financial decision?

Fyi - car needs a wash no scratches

2018 jeep compass front diff/transfer case

Do the 2018 Jeep compasses have both? I was under the impression it's FWD bias, but the dealership is quoting a front diff service and transfer case service. Just curious if they're trying to over sell me on service or if I actually need both. It currently has 85,600 miles and I just got the rear diff and trans fluid serviced.

Advice for NCDS hearing

I have a hearing with NCDS about my 2024 jeep compass limited. The dealership can’t fix it and made it worse after the 3rd repair attempt, nobody has a solution. I have a documents only hearing on June 2nd, and I have 30 pages of evidence. This evidence includes videos, photos, screenshots of emails & text messages, and statements from the dealership like “sir, what do you want us to do about it” and “these things happen all the time to these cars, there’s nothing we can do”. Does anyone have any experience with an NCDS hearing, and does anyone have any advice?

Wireless Feature

Okay so I just got my moms 2014 Compass and on some of the papers that came with the car when she bought it 12 years ago it says that it doesn't have uconnect but has some sort of wireless feature? Im trying to figure out exactly what that is, I asked her about it and she said that the dealer said something about being able to turn it on for her but since she used flip phones for the longest time she never needed it. Im really just trying to figure out what the difference is between the uconnect and wireless. The stereo has the phone buttons but just says "Uconnect not available", is there a way to maybe turn it on myself if it is some feature or do I just have to take it to a dealer and have them look at it.

Ive been looking into getting an aftermarket stereo to connect my phone to just for music but i wanted to check and see if there was a way to do that before spending money on after market parts. (Im not that knowledgeable on cars so please forgive me if I just asked the most stupid question ever, google only brings up info specifically about uconnect which has been no help💔)

Paint on trim

I have a 2021 trail hawk jeep
Compass. The paint on the trim by the back window is bubbling and peeling. Has anyone else had this happen?

Anyone else have issues with their brakes squeaking?

2024 Jeep Compass has close to 10k miles on it, and the brakes are squealing in reverse and when coming to a stop. I took it to the dealer twice, but they said the brakes look brand new and they don’t see anything wrong. At this point.. I’m not sure what to do. It is so embarrassing!

Oil pressure sensor

I have a 2019 Jeep compass latitude, 4 x 4 103,066 miles on it. I was sitting at a drive-through get me some lunch all of a sudden in my oil light or as people call it, the genie lamp came on and it said oil pressure low so I got my food and as I was going to park my vehicle, it cut off and it hasn’t come back on in the past three hours. I was driving and I’m wondering what could cause it cause I have plenty of oil showing on my dipstick, I even went by an oil change place and they checked my oil and said it was good it was full. Should I be worried or could it have been a glitch or whatever it’s called?

Anyone know how to fix stuck lock mechanism?

The lock mechanism doesn’t fully switch - it tries to but gets stuck. As of now I have to lock the door manually before I get out because it won’t lock with the fob. Hoping this just requires some lubricant but wondering if anyone else has dealt w this?

Disappointed

I know I should probably have known this before I bough but I have the sport not realizing it was the base model. It was between this and the TrailHawk which I only didn’t get because of the price and color but had all the bells and whistles I wanted, because I went from a Sentra SR to this and my Sentra had every thing. But a wreck took that one. Now I’m bummed that I didn’t get all the features I wanted an got the bottom tier of this jeep. I’ve wanted a jeep all my life and now I’ve settled again. I know this is a whiny post but I’m still disappointed in my purchase, I should have known better. Can anyone one commiserate?
