Just. 4.0 Laredo with a RC long arm, 31s and bilstien 5100 shocks. It's a great camping rig, and is always super reliable.

Radiator Replacement at shop

Need a radiator replacement for my 96 ZJ V8. Don't have the time to wrench in driveway as its my daily driver and need to get to work....Shop quotes $900. Reasonable? Shop rates are probably $175+/hr around here so 2.5 x175 = $440 right there plus rad, coolant, hoses....I think $600-700 is fair given the tranny and PS hookups in addition on a 30yr old Jeep,,,

95 ZJ 4L: Water pooling on carpet under jack?

Hi all, are there any usual suspects for the cause of why this happens? It's almost exclusively under the right rear passenger seat but the carpet under the feet gets damp occasionally too.

Let there be light!

As I get older and my eyes take a dump on me I want to have enough light when I need it.

Installed 6 Sylvania Ultra Cubes down in the lower grill. The Diode Dynamics SSC1 Covers amazingly fit just about perfect on them. Have the dark covers when I want them hidden and the yellow ones if I want to change from yellow to white and vice versa.

Goes well with the Hella Driving lights. I put the switch below the center console lid, behind the cup holders. Added dual fast charging USBs as well for SnG’s

96 ZJ 4.0l blowing 20A fuse when checking for parasitic draw

Hello all! Foreword: I think that an alternator diode broke, and the alternator is creating a large amperage parasitic draw, or there's a short somewhere.

'96 ZJ 4.0l is experiencing some pretty significant draw when it's off (greater than 20amp). At this point, it could also be the battery (bought it new 2.5months ago when car was purchased), as I left for 10 days and came back to a battery reading 6.5v. It is failing to hold 12.2v. I have installed a kill switch on negative terminal as temporary band-aid.

My

When checking for parasitic draw (by removing negative terminal, using multimeter at highest amp setting to connect between negative cable and negative terminal) there is a small arc between multimeter probe and negative terminal, which is now confirmed as more than 20a as this fuse and setting were rated for 20a.

Is this indicative of a short somewhere, or is this some easily avoided problem I'm unaware of? Is there some "startup inrush current" that happens if battery is connected? If so, how do I avoid it or test for parasitic draw some other way?

Thank you! I can provide pictures if requested

Edit: all physical knobs in OFF position, key out, doors closed (hood open) for 30 minutes, no lights on, etc. when fuses are blowing

Another junkyard score

Non-broken header panel (93-95), matching grill and an ok bumper cover to replace what I ruined when I hit a deer last year. Due to be installed this weekend.

Also found the wether stripping that goes ontop of the rad support/latch mount and a full size spare tire cover in the correct trim color.
