I really can’t find anything decent for my F9. I was told by some folk that Tenicor Velo5 for the Glock 19 may fit or other holsters for the Glock 17 may also fit. Don’t wanna have buyers remorse. Any thoughts?
I had been watching GunBroker for one of these and saw a couple pop up with buy now pricing so I grabbed one. It was delivered to my FFL which is also a range where I'm a member, so they let me shoot it for function checks before submitting the transfer and starting the 7 day waiting period for my state.
It works great! All safety, slide lock, and decocker functions work as they should. It shot a better group at 5 yards with the iron sights than I did with my Glock 34 with red dot. Once I get it home I'll do a thorough cleaning of it. Only 50 rounds and I'm a fan.
I am thinking about selling my 1st Gen Jericho 941 on gunbroker.com
How much should I sell it for?
My Fav Pistol to shoot, that I own. So happy I picked this up a few years ago. I think I will do a cerakote and maybe handle upgrade + the sights if I can find them. Not sure if you can still get aftermarket upgrade for these pre-2007 models.
All the aftermarket grips I see don't have a lanyard loop cutout as far as I can tell. Anyone selling IMI grips or is the lanyard loop on surplus models removable?
Got an IMI in overall pretty good condition but I would like to see about getting a cerakote/other finish and either a rear sight repair (it's slightly dented on one blade and the dot is chipped) or a replacement, but I would need it zeroed since I don't have the ability to zero it where I live. Not as accurate as it came at least. There's some very minor surface rust and a ding or two along the top anti-glare serrations inside the ejection port.
For anyone who's refinished a gun how did you handle dents or dings? Ignore them?
Just finished my Bebop inspired Jericho, and love how it turned out. All parts and upgrades listed below. What do you guys think?
Cowboy Bebop Lok Grips
Stainless CZ grip screws
CGW Flat DA/SA Trigger (75665) (had to enlarge the holes so the proper pins would fit.)
CGW Reduced Power Trigger Return Spring
CGW Floating Trigger Pin (Canik-sized / Phantom-IWI compatible)
DPM Recoil Reduction Guide Rod for Jericho 941 F-R-FL-RL112mm/4.4" BRL
Fiber Optic Front sight from Patriot Defense
I'm pretty partial to the looks of the old 941's with no light rail but I'm on the fence about if I'll regret getting a railless frame or not.
How do the newer production runs of the 941 full size with a light rail compare in overall shootability and smoothness to the classic 941?
I heard some people saying the police star models had nicer, shorter and lighter triggers but I also saw others saying the trigger was worse.
Question: What platform would you recommend I invest in?
Below I’ve listed out what I have that is relevant to the original question. I am looking for a platform to invest in further and focus training on a single platform. In the past I haven’t done a lot of aftermarket stuff on my handguns, particularly my carry guns. I’ll change out the sights and magazine baseplates and add a light, but not much more. I tried a red dot years ago on a handgun years ago and didn’t like it. I do have them on my rifles though. I am interested in giving them another shot.
I’d like to have something enjoyable to shoot that I can still carry, along with something small that will operate similar to the larger carry gun.
IWI: This would be my preference, but the aftermarket support is garbage. My Jericho is my favorite, but not realistic for conceal carry. I hate the fact that they went with a proprietary mag on the full size Masada. I love shooting it and it has all of the modern features. If they would have stuck with the cz75 mag, I probably would probably be fine with staying with my IWI stuff, despite the shallow aftermarket support.
Glock: Best aftermarket support and I can shoot them fine. My Gen 5 19 sucks because it’s the early model with the half moon cutout. I struggle to shoot fast because it slips in my hand, because I can’t anchor down with my pinky.
Sig: my p365 Xmacro is great. I can shoot it great and it feels good on my hand. Oddly enough it doesn’t conceal as well as it should for me. Plus, I’m not a huge sig fan and I only own 2 sigs.
CZ: I don’t own any CZs and I have only shot a cz75 once or twice, but I absolutely love my Jericho. I love the da/Sa on my Jericho. I know it’s a clone, but I don’t have enough experience to know how similar they feel. Also, my range doesn’t have any CZ rentals. I’ve never heard too much in the way of negativity towards CZ.
For reference I have the following: IWI Jericho F9 IWI Masada IWI Masada Slim Elite IWI Masada Slim Commander Elite Tavon X95 Gen 1 Galil
Glock26 Gen 4 Glock 19 Gen 5
Sig P365 Xmacro non-comp
I know this is a long post, but I would appreciate any recommendations or feedback that you might have.
Deciding on ammo choice once I get my 941. Does anyone have any experience with steel case 9mm such as “Magtech Steel 9mm Luger Ammunition”
Can I go steel cased for bulk ammo to plink around with or should I pay for brass cased 9mm.
Thanks
The Mosin Crate has some IMI 941r's comming in May 9th that you can try and snag if anyone is interested. They are cheaper than scambroker has been recently.
I think its for a .40 941 but not totally sure
Trying to track down a 941 dogleg slide catch / slide release / slide stop, specifically the smooth version. I’ve searched around quite a bit, but outside of a thread from a few years ago, I really haven’t found much current information.
Does anyone know the best way to acquire one these days? Mainly looking for specific manufacturer websites (I've reached out to EAA), vendors, old distributors, shops, forums, or other places that may still occasionally have them floating around.
I’ve already tried watching a video on the difference. So my current understanding is that pulling the trigger on a SA with the hammer forward will do nothing until the hammer is pulled back then the gun can fire, SA/DA you can pull the trigger without the hammer back. Am I correct in this? Just now getting into shooting so just wanna understand fully.
Thanks
