The Light Shining Through Aesthetic of Invented

It can be hard to pinpoint a specific art direction for the Invented album, but a lot of the pictures take place in dim environments, where the light in the background offers a sharp contrast. I personally love the warm color tone selected for this album, and I think the artwork can often be overlooked along with some great songs on the album.

Thoughts on this era?

Robot Factory cover

Learned this by ear, so probably a few mistakes here and there, but overall, I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. Long Live Jimbo!

Chase This Light Tour CDs

Does anyone have the Chase This Light Tour CDs from Manchester Academy or Birmingham Academy?

I have the Brixton Academy one (physical but I also imported it to my Music app) and I'd love to hear the others. I remember almost trading physical CDs with someone a long time ago, maybe here. Anyone know if we can hear the digital tracks from the other two shows anywhere? I know they switched up the setlist, too!

Just curious again now that I'm reminded of how truly incredible the live experience is (after seeing them on this Bleed American tour).

Just how huge was Jimmy Eat World following their breakthrough with Bleed American/Self-Titled and The Middle as well as during Futures?

Jimmy Eat World are one of the most well-known failure to success stories in music history with how they went from being dropped by their label following a commercial failure (of course later deservedly regarded as a landmark title of emo) to having one of the most enduring alternative crossover hits of the 2000s that is still heavily played 20 years later with The Middle (as well as the also instantly recognizable follow-up single Sweetness). But as someone who was born a decent while after their heyday, I've been wondering about the scope and extent of their popularity and heights at their biggest peak era which I'd say was from 2002 to around 2004/05.

Jimmy Eat World Eras Tour Style Dream Setlist??

I was thinking the other day...Jimmy Eat World has been there through every era of my life, from junior high school all the way to now in my 40s. Every big moment in my life has a JEW record that coincides with it.

That got me thinking about if they did an Eras Tour similar to Taylor Swift..

What would my IDEAL set list be?? What would yours be? I want to know!

The rules: only 3 songs per era, and 3 non-LP songs. (No, SOMST doesn't count as an album as badly as I want it to🤣)

**It doesn't have to be your favorite songs from each album necessarily, just the ones you would most like to hear live in this kind of setting

Let's see your lists, Fam!

Here's mine:

Static Prevails

  1. Thinking, That's All
  2. Claire
  3. Call it in the Air

Clarity

  1. Ten
  2. Just Watch the Fireworks
  3. For Me This is Heaven

Bleed American

  1. A Praise Chorus
  2. Your House
  3. If You Don't, Don't

Futures

  1. Kill
  2. Polaris
  3. 23

Chase This Light

  1. Let it Happen
  2. Carry You
  3. Dizzy

Invented

  1. Stop
  2. Invented
  3. Mixtape

Damage

  1. Damage
  2. Book of Love
  3. How'd You Have Me

Integrity Blues

  1. You With Me
  2. It Matters
  3. Pol Roger

Surviving

  1. Delivery
  2. Diamond
  3. Recommit

Non-Album/ Bonus/EP Tracks

  1. Disintegration
  2. Be Sensible
  3. Open Bar Reception

Jimmy Eat World’s Jim Adkins shares update on possible new material: ‘There’s definitely beginnings’

Looks like uh. They’re working on something! Take your time, boys. Will listen whenever it comes out and likely fall in love with the songs the way I’ve always done. ♥️

Am I the only one who sees it?

The US team’s coach looks like a Jim Adkins/Russell Crowe hybrid

25th Patch

Would anyone be willing to pick me up one of the $5 Bleed American 25th Anniversary patches and mail it to the east coast? I bought one at the Boston show, but my cat and dog conspired to knock it off the counter and chew it up. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ll obviously pay for the cost and shipping. Thanks in advance!

How is Chase This Light not in a movie?

Or is it? It's perfect for a dramatic movie scene. Someone should make that happen!

They have lots of songs that would be good in movies but Chase This Light struck me as being one of the best.

Your favorite band's favorite band

Everyone knows the middle but very few people in comparison actually dive into their entire discography

I saw JEW and FOB in Ontario in 2024. Patrick Stump took a few minutes from the show just to gush and talk about how sharing a tour with JEW was a career achievement for him

There were numerous other bands in the lineup that did the same. One of the guys from Stereos even outright declared JEW was his favorite band on stage lol

I just find it so bizarre how they are so popular but also....aren't at the same time. Yet they are also cherished by numerous other artists. They exist in a very strange place

Jimmy Eat World Plays "Big Casino" at Stone Pony Summer Stage (Asbury Park, NJ - June 25, 2026)

Simply put - Jimmy Eat World were phenomenal at the Stone Pony Summer Stage this week (June 25, 2026). And while the show saw them play 'Bleed American' from top to bottom in celebration of the landmark album's 25th anniversary, witnessing Jim Adkins sing the "Big Casino" lyric "I'm a New Jersey success story" under the Stone Pony awning in Asbury Park was a truly magical moment.

I'll be sharing more clips from the show overtime, but here's Jimmy Eat World playing "The Middle" that night in full:

Stay tuned for more things to come from this space, including stories from concerts like this!

Their sound is so perfect, every instrument

They've always been my favorite but after seeing them live again for the first time in over three years, I am reminded how no other band feels quite so special, so larger than life, and so perfect when it comes to the sound. Instruments don't always do it for me with other bands - I've always been drawn to voice more than instruments. But with Jimmy Eat World, every instrument, including Jim's voice but also the way the drums sound and FEEL, guitars, etc. feel so perfect, so beautiful. Every song was amazing. We got the best set list ever. How do they do it?!

How big is the crowd in your area or venue?

I'm asking bc Jimmy said he didn't expect so many people to come yesterday at Asbury Park. Then I talked to someone and she said **he seemed like he really was *genuinely shocked* and he says that all the time. **It seems he almost only expects/sees small crowds or doesn't know how popular his band really is.

Yesterday was such a good show! I was up close to the stage, almost got crushed 3 times by crows surfers, and got to meet Jimmy afterwards.

Edit: guys you are repeating yourself and myself too. You all keep saying he says that all the time. I clearly said the person told me he says it all the time but this time he seemed genuine about it.
