Let’s rock, Chicago!

I know most of us are old, but we can still rock. When Bleed American hits, let’s be the craziest crowd they’ve had on tour yet. Many of you have rocked out with me before, specifically in MKE last time they were there. Let’s have the biggest, friendliest, danciest, all ages welcome mosh pit this band has ever seen!!

ISO: Trading Red Rocks Collector Series Tickets for JEW

Good morning Eaters,

Red Rocks Amphitheater has the option to purchase Collectors Tickets after certain shows. I just received my tickets from Jimmy's Bleed American 25 tour-opening show on Jun 9. I wasn't aware there were multiple designs (I have 4x of Design 3 of 4) and now I'm on an effort to trade for other collector tickets.

Comment or DM if you are interested. Pic attached for the curious.

Flying into Chicago from NorCal and need a pit princess to go the show with…

I know this is fucking weird. I’m just ripping the bandaid off and swinging for the fences here. 8/20 is the day my dad died. I planned this trip with my ex a few months back, because I don’t like being at home on that day if I can avoid it and Chicago is one of my absolute most favorite cities. When the concert got rescheduled to 8/20, it felt serendipitous. My favorite band, in one of my favorite cities, with my favorite person, on the day my dad died. Of course we were going.

Then a week later she told me she just knew in her heart she couldn’t ever be in a long-distance relationship with anyone. It was just too hard, apparently. A month later she was in a LDR with a whole other person she’d been talking to while we were together so that was definitely a fun one to process! 🤭

But I digress.

I decided I wasn’t going to let her ruin my trip. It’s still my favorite band in one of my favorite cities, and I can’t imagine many other places I’d rather be on the day. I have “Don’t write yourself off yet” tattooed on my arm in my dad’s handwriting so there was no way I’d miss this show. I’d just prefer not to be entirely alone on the day.

So, I figured what better place to look for a date to Jimmy Eat World than the Jimmy Eat World sub, right? I promise I’m not a sad sack and I’m not looking for a pity date. Just want someone fun to enjoy an awesome night with. I’ve seen them at Red Rocks and the Bay Area on this tour and it’s such a great show. If we really vibe and sparks fly, awesome. What a great story for the sub lol. If it just ends with a hug and a new friend…hey, that’s cool too.

I don’t want to turn this into a big personal ad but here’s a brief “about me.” I am: 38, white, 6’2”, bald by choice and bearded by design. Little bit of a dad bod cus my kid really likes pizza and I really like making ice cream lol. But anyway, I’m a left-leaning, very tatted (multiple Jimmy tattoos), funny, generous, genuine, big-hearted private chef and single dad who loves sports, concerts, movies, travel, and trying all the new things.

I swear I’m not a serial killer. I’m more than happy to verify in whatever way you prefer. I’m just a normal dude with bad luck and a positive outlook. I have a social media footprint and an iPhone number, both of which I’m willing to share so you can tell very easily that it’s a real person here lol. I land at ORD about 5ish tomorrow and I’m staying around Magnificent Mile. I’d love to connect with someone, chat a little, and if there’s mutual interest, maybe we can grab a drink or something for a little vibe check or whatever.

Anyway, I know this is weird. And I’m sorry if this really just wasn’t the right place to post this. But I didn’t see anything in the rules against it and we only live once soooo….

Chase this light with me?

Sinking Into Sweet Nostalgia: Twenty-Five Years of Jimmy Eat World’s Bleed American

I wrote about my experience seeing Jimmy Eat World performing Bleed American for the twenty-fifth anniversary. It was an incredibly moving and life affirming experience and I tried to make some sense of it and share just why it was so meaningful to me.

"It’s incredibly powerful and life affirming to realise the things that you loved so dearly when you were younger are still a part of what makes you who you are now. I screamed along to those songs in Halifax at thirty-one years of age, not because I wanted to recapture how I felt when I was younger, but because they were still songs that I truly loved. Like the oldest of friends, we’ve been on a journey together. They’re part of who I am."

Chicago set times?

Does anyone have an idea what the set times for Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, and Sunny Day Real Estate will be on Thursday in Chicago? I’m trying to figure out how early I need to leave the office. Thanks in advance!

Jim performs 'Float' with Jay Som 8/16/2026 at Crystal Palace

I'm glad they got a chance to perform this live!

In a clip I caught on Insta that isn't shown in this video, at the start he jokes, "We do this all the time so it's gonna be good" and she jokes back something like ,"This is the 100th time we've done this." He finishes early at the end and then hops back on the outro but I thought the whole thing was great. It's funny to see him guitar-less and I loved that he instantly starts correctly winding up the cable before exiting, haha. Anyway! Enjoy!

Crystal Palace

Anyone want to share best moments from tonight?

No one apart from Green Day has ever made me emotional enough to cry at a gig, and tonight i had a few tears! I thought they sounded absolutely amazing, the crowd was super cool the vibes were amazing. When he said that ‘Get It Faster’ had never had such a crazy reaction before made me feel really proud as a fan.

I knew I would have a good time but dropped expectations after the venue change, I thought it might feel a bit rushed. Actually turned out perfect the venue was so well organised, staff were amazing, enough toilets and bars and food stalls.

Have been a passive listener but always loved the big 5 songs over the years plus a few from the support acts, this show has made me into a huge fan!

And lets be honest they absolutely smashed it 🤘

Which albums would you love more Phoenix Sessions for?

Of course after this tour I would love everyone who missed out to get a chance to see a Bleed American session, especially with the less popular songs being the highlight (My Sundown, Get It Faster).

I also think a Chase This Light session would be amazing, especially as the band don't seem to sing its praises enough. Dizzy, Always Be (bring it back), Electable, Let It Happen, Firefight, be very cool to hear it all together.

Finally, I think Integrity Blues deserves the session treatment. I think it might be their strongest post Chase This Light, and so many songs deserve more time out there. You Are Free is one of their best, Pass the Baby is probably the craziest song Jimmy have ever put out, Sure and Certain and Get Right are sorely missed. Plus on that tour the streetlight aesthetic was so incredible, I think that could translate to amazing visuals here too.

Tbh, I can live without Invented and Damage....

Do you think the guys will ever blow up again?

Of course “The Middle” is and always will be popular, but this band has such a deep and rich, and frankly incredible and underrated discography. Almost everything they’ve put out since Static Prevails is pure gold. It’s amazing to me that since TikTok and reels/shorts have been around that something out of their discography hasn’t caught on somewhere with some trend.

I’m not saying I want that to be how they blow up again, but their entire discography is just littered with amazing moments, journeys, views, etc.

So many other bands with one or two good songs really catch a wave and float above the rest temporarily. I’d love to see this band with one of (if not the best) discography I’ve ever heard catch a little more love.

Maybe it’s just my love for this band, but it just feels like a Van Gogh situation in how they might not get appreciated until way later on despite being incredible. I’m biased and they have been my favorite band for 10 years now. Some of you 25 or more. My point still stands, my question awaits your answer!

Bracelets for the Toronto show

The last time I saw the band was at BFF Festival and some people met up to trade bracelets. I made a few bracelets for the Toronto show to trade/give away. If anyone else is making bracelets/pins/stickers, maybe we could meet up.

London show - what did Jim say?

What did Jim say just before they started playing 23? I was next to the idiotic girls who kept screaming “It’s a fucking Sunday!” 😂🤦‍♀️ the entire time Jim was talking…

Ps. What an incredible gig.

Songs like Cautioners?

I didn’t really know jimmy eat world that well for most of my life. I knew about the album bleed American and I knew that they wrote the middle and that was about it. However, quite recently I stumbled upon a song called Cautioners that absolutely blew me away to the point where I’m just dying to know if they have other songs like that. and if so, what are they called?

Sound quality at Crystal Palace

Anyone else think that Jim's guitar wasn't actually plugged in at the start of the Crystal Palace show?

Whole show was a bit meh in terms of volume and sound.
