No service

One of the areas I deliver to has parts where there is no phone signal. By the time you get signal to say you’ve delivered the order, the app says I need to be closer to complete. What do you do in this situation?

McDonald’s always leave you standing there instead of just handing you the order.

Why does McDonald’s always do this?? I see the order sitting right there it takes 2 seconds to just hand it to me but nope they’d rather leave you standing there and walk past you as if you don’t even exist then get an attitude when you try to get their attention.

What's the score with McDonald's?

I haven't delivered for McDonald's in a while due to so many spilled drinks but I have just started doing them again and so far so good, no spillages. With Deliveroo and Uber the orders are ready for collection on arrival with the occasional wait for a few minutes. On Just Eat they are never ready, no matter which store and all are a 10 minute wait. I spoke to staff and they only just received the order on my arrival, like what the fuck? How do people manage this? Say I accept a Deliveroo and Just Eat McDonald's and the Deliveroo one is ready, could I just keep the Just Eat order open and go deliver the quick Deliveroo order first and go back for the Just Eat? I was tempted to do so but don't want to risk losing my account due to Just Eats stupid give order to the restaurant on driver arrival BS policy. How are other riders/drivers mitigating this? It seems to only be a McDonald's issue but at late night you can't really afford not to do McDonald's as it's one of the few places which are open.

Charged twice for a 10-min cancellation. App deleted.

I placed an order and realized within 3–5 minutes that I needed to add one more item. Because the Just Eat app has no option to modify an ongoing order, the only workaround was to cancel and immediately replace it. I checked with the restaurant first; they confirmed they hadn't even started preparing the first order yet, so no food or money was wasted on their end.

I placed the new, larger order immediately. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. Yet, Just Eat refused to refund the cancelled order, effectively charging me twice for the exact same meal.

To make matters worse, the delivery took 60 minutes because the drivers stack 3–4 orders at once, making multiple stops while your food gets cold. When I contacted customer service via email to explain that the restaurant suffered no loss and that I actually spent more money with them on the replacement order, they completely stonewalled me with generic templates.

They would rather lose a customer permanently than fix a clear system error and issue a rightful refund. I am deleting this app and I strongly advise everyone else to do the same. If your food arrives late, cold, or if you make a simple mistake, they will keep your money. Unprofessional and an absolute rip-off.

They can't be serious!

This is the third offer like this today, and the fifth in three days. Glitch, or new normal?

Drivers, what's the strangest delivery location you've ever had to find?

Got an order with a postcode that mapped to a random country lane. I called the bloke and he told me to look for a torch light in the dark. Turns out he was camping out in a random field and fancied a kebab

Shocking fees

I thought I'd drop online tonight having had a notification to say it was busy. I've currently got a 30 for £50 incentive so I thought I'd give it a go. Well, what a joke. True, lots of offers coming in but I rejected them all, around 10 in 20 minutes. I think the one that broke the camel's back was a Coop order 16 miles for just over £7. Are they off their heads? All the others were nowhere near £1 a mile. Incredible....!! I'd love them to contact me directly to ask why I rejected 100% of the offers, just so I could explain how the offers are not anywhere near financially viable and where to insert them!!

Orders 1:30mins late!

I’ve contacted Just eat regarding this order, which it says courier is still at the store, and they said if I cancel the order, I’ll not be refunded at all.

It’s made me beyond angry. I said it’s unacceptable and Morrisons are the problem here, not me. Then they carried on with ‘the est. arrival has been updated. Wait for this to pass, then contact’.

It’s been updated like 20 times. Must be.

I’m getting so angry. Still not received it. Courier is still at the store supposedly. No way to cancel without being charged. It’s ridiculous.

Edit: meant 1:30 hours lol.

Edit: orders now been cancelled. Fully refunded. Still shocked though. Can’t believe how awful just eat customer service are. Let alone, that they just use messages that are already typed. Half of the time, not helping the situation or answering queries.

No refund

Last night I ordered food, I have a code to confirm deliveries, the courier made no effort to contact me and marked my food as delivered. After that I requested a refund and ordered again from elsewhere. Same issue but the courier did message and kept lying about where he was, once I got outside he was nowhere to be seen and it was marked as delivered.

This morning I woke up to two emails saying unfortunately they can’t help me and I never got a refund and closed the ticket.

Is there any way to contact them again and make sure I get an actual human and get these refunds sorted as it was over £60 for nothing

Just eat lies

Their scoring system clearly hides the truth. How can a restaurant have 5 star reviews when quarter of them are 1 star and the 5 star reviews are just over 50%????

Splitting Orders - A Little Warning

I think I made a post about this before, but this is another warning to newer riders (or those who were not aware). If JustEat splits an order for a driver - usually at a supermarket due to size/weight - they will give the second rider a completely different order number to the original order that has now been split.

In other words, you will turn up and wait for 20 minutes+, only to find that the bags in front of you (with a different order number to the one on your app) ARE what you should be collecting. 🤦

The only way you can discover this is to ask JustEat on chat (good luck!) - or if a staff member prints out the original order receipt so that you can check the customer's address.

Getting increasingly frustrated with ID policy.

Hay-fever tablets being labelled as 18-only despite no law requiring it and then being forced to hand over ID to be scanned despite being a balding 30 year old, but then being rejected because it's an expired ID.

Multiple drivers now have said they can't do it manually anymore.

Surely this isn't possible?

Been getting multiple emails from Just Eat saying I have 50% off my next orders, go to see which restaurants are eligible and nothing is coming up.

Surely they would vet that first before offering me a discount... Right? Seems a bit lousy to offer a discount for it not to be usable 😅

How do people deal with flats that have broken buzzers or no numbers on the doors?

Serious question because it feels like every second delivery lately is a guessing game. You turn up to a block of flats, the main buzzer panel is either smashed or completely dead, and the customer isn't answering their phone. Then if you actually manage to get inside because someone else leaves the building, half the doors inside have absolutely no numbers on them

Is it worth it?

I’m looking to join just eat for evening and weekend work to earn some extra cash.

I’ve heard that you get stung by insurance and that the money you make doesn’t cover insurance, let alone give extra income.

How much truth is in this? Will it be worth doing a few hours on evenings and weekends to earn for extra cash?

Save £30 discount not working

I have seen the previous post regarding the same issue, and I have followed the exact steps as the video suggested. I have tried multiple restaurants and yet the £10 never shows up as a deduction. I've gotten to the point of payment and nothing.

I selected 'order now', selected a compatible restaurant, and fill out an order. Then, once I go to the payment page I have no options for the discount.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you 🙂

Courier didnt deliver my food

Hi I ordered a mcdonalds on just eat a couple of weeks ago and the driver turned up with no food and was going on about the driver in front took my food and then started rambling about romanians we was there so long whilst he was going on about random stuff then said he needed the code as it wont clear of his screen otherwise, I was hesitant at first but he was confusing me going on about random stuff and I didnt know what he was saying but in the end he managed to get the delivery code out of me and he said I need to contact just eat about a refund which I did but obviously they was refusing to give me one as id handed over the code so I argued with them a bit and provided ring cam footage of the whole scene from when he walked to my door with no food and you can ear him word for word so isnt like im lying and luckily I did in the end get a refund but my question is how do I report him he shouldnt be asking for a code without having any food to give, I emailed the couriers@just-eat.co.uk on the day of the order to report him but I havent heard anything back yet and its been 2 weeks and I want to make sure they have logged my complaint so he cant do this again to the next person.

Ill obviously fully refuse to give the code next time but right now I want to report him

Thinking about going full time on this, is it actually viable?

Done it part time for eight months and the money is decent as a top up but I'm trying to work out if it holds up as a main income. Factoring in wear on the bike, the unpredictable quiet periods, and no sick pay. Anyone doing it full time and finding it sustainable or is it a grind that wears you down?

Does anyone else have this problem as well?

I have this code. Seems pretty good. £10 off first 3 orders with £15 minimum spend.

When I press ‘order now’, it takes me to all the eligible stores. When I select any of the stores and make the basket contain £15 worth of items, the £10 off doesn’t trigger. I’ve tried it for both delivery and collection orders and tried it for multiple restaurants (some that have other discounts and some with no additional discounts at all), i’ve also tried making the basket subtotal way higher than £15 in case the threshold isn’t fully clear.

No matter what I do, the £10 off doesn’t work. The basket doesn’t have -£10 off from the subtotal. I can’t even check the terms and conditions because there isn’t even the option.

Anyone know what’s up with it?
