Is this picture okay?

I am always confused by popular pictures of goddess.
The positions of hand gestures always seems incorrect when they are on same side of body.

If you have ever chopped a tree or reaped wheat plants in summer manually, you know that you have to hold the plant with left hand and chop it with the sickle in right hand.

So this image seems perfect to me.

But it is not a traditional image in any scriptures or popular idols.

No matter how I tried, I could not put her left feet behind the body.

Is this image still possible for dakshin kalika?

Maa Kali is the fierce yet infinitely compassionate Divine Mother who destroys ego, ignorance, fear, and all negative forces that prevent the soul from realizing its true nature. Her dark form symbolizes the infinite cosmic reality beyond time and space, while her weapons represent the power to cut

the bonds of illusion and liberate devotees from the cycle of suffering. Though her appearance is formidable, every aspect of Kali teaches courage, surrender, and spiritual transformation. She blesses sincere seekers with fearlessness, wisdom, inner strength, and the power to overcome even the darkest obstacles. Worshipping Maa Kali with devotion, purity, and unwavering faith is believed to awaken divine consciousness, remove karmic burdens, and guide the devotee toward liberation (Moksha), reminding us that the fiercest form of the Divine is also the most loving protector of her children.

Mantra like the Hare Krishna mantra for Maa.

I really like the Hare Krishna mantra for being a long, repeated list of nothing but names for Krishna, so I was wondering if there was an equivalent for Kālī?

Is this photo too ferocious for worshipping

I’m new to worshipping Kali but feel very drawn to her every time I see her. I’m going to be living alone for the first time in a while and wanted to keep Kali in my home to worship her and seek her protection. After reading recommendations it appears one should only keep Dakshina Kali at home and not any other Rudra forms. However, I feel very drawn to the image above though I realise the only non ferocious aspect of this photo is her right foot on shiva. Wanted to ask if this photo is appropriate for worship or I should only seek Dakshina Kali‘s photo.

Need help setting up maa dakshinakali altar

Namaste friends, i am a new member in hinduism and need help starting my journey. I have known her since i was younger and i feel like maa has always been watching over me but alas since i am moving houses I want to take this opportunity to start my bhakti with maa dakshina kali but without diksha i have read that my altar must be set using a picture.

Must the framed picture be a depiction of maa with her right foot on lord siwa or can i use other pictures of her such as the ones on top?

My kul forgot our Kuldevi Bhadrakali a century ago. Now she is appearing in my dreams to rebuild her temple.

My Kuldevi (ancestral deity) is Maa Bhadrakali. My ancestors were originally from Madhya Pradesh, but in the late 19th or early 20th century, they migrated to Bihar. When they moved, they did not bring our Kuldevi along with them. For more than a century now, she has not been worshipped by our clan, and we don't even have a temple for her in our native village.

When my sister was a child, she used to have dreams and sometimes even visions of Maa Kali. At that time, I had no idea that our Kuldevi was Bhadrakali or that we had stopped worshipping her. Personally, I am an ardent worshipper of Bhagwan Shiva and have lately been worshipping Hanuman ji as well, but I was never really drawn to Kali worship.

However, over the last one and a half years, I have had three very vivid dreams of Maa Kali.

In the first dream, I saw a massive idol of Maa Kali inside a dark cave. She was alive, with her tongue out, looking at me angrily.

In the second dream, I was in a lake filled with zombie-like creatures. In the dream, I intuitively knew they were Brahmarakshasas (a term I had never even heard of in real life before this dream). Next to the lake, an idol of Maa Kali was sitting out in the open on the bank. Despite the terrifying surroundings, I found absolute peace and protection when I approached her idol.

In the third dream, I dreamt of a temple in my native village that was in a completely dilapidated condition. In the dream, I was clearing away the vines and creepers, cleaning the deity's shrine. In reality, that exact spot in our village is currently just a piece of empty, barren land.

Following that last dream, I decided to step up. I volunteered to completely fund and construct the Kuldevi mandir myself, as the other people in my clan were not ready to contribute financially.

I’m not entirely sure why I’m sharing this here, but I wanted to ask: am I doing the right thing? Why did Maa choose to approach me like this?

I am also deeply worried about the long-term upkeep of the mandir because I live thousands of kilometers away from my native village. If the temple is built but people stop maintaining it, will it bring wrath upon our entire clan again? How do I convince my family and relatives to help maintain it? I want to explain the tangible benefits of Kuldevi worship to them so they feel motivated to keep the temple alive, even in my absence.

TL;DR: After migrating a century ago, my clan forgot and stopped worshipping our Kuldevi, Maa Bhadrakali. Recently, despite not being a Kali worshipper, I had three powerful dreams of her, including one where I was cleaning her ruined temple on a plot of land that is currently empty in my village. I have committed to funding the construction of her temple 100% alone, but I am worried about how to convince my reluctant clan to maintain it since I live thousands of kilometers away.

How to handle this?

I am new to all of this and looking for some advice. I at times I have this feeling of overwhelming love for Maa that just takes me over when I think about her for too long, like it stops me in my tracks. I don't fall down or anything but I feel like I am about to burst.

Maa Kali calling me

For context I am a beginner Hecate devotee I am still actively learning about her lately I was in a job where I was really under big danger and threat and it took the effort of six months and more than 6 ppl to tear me down I was belittled and treated horribly, the last three months Maa kali kept appearing because I casually listen to mantras, Maa kali mantras and video kept appearing and sometimes automatically switching on their own the last month I took it lightly and said yeah Maa kali is maybe calling not knowing who is she and why, now I am reading a book about how someone took revenge completely broken and really down I have genuinely never been this down since forever, the greatest story of her great revenge was excuted by Maa kali and it just clicked and kinda, my heart felt a really good relief I was looking for for days that Maa kali is really calling me out.
I want to do meditation to meet her what are basic things I can do her ? Can I ask her for revenge and just sit back and watch?
Ps: one of those who had hand in me being fired has had a car accident two days after I was fired and he can’t drive his car now and maybe his neck needs surgery.
