Ako, si Marian sana. Yung mala Cheon So Jin ng Penthouse. Yung malaki pa rin role at ambag sa kwento. For a change lang haha

PlanetXP, a show worth watching

Recently ko lang natuklasan yung palabas na to and it brings me back to my younger years, back when uso pa yung educational na palabas.

The show is partly funded by the government, at sana we get to see more of these type of content sa TV natin. Kung naghahanap kayo ng panoorin or kahit ilagay sa background, give this a watch. Bagay sya for weekend viewings, on a slow Saturday morning na gusto mo lang magpahinga and take a break from everything that's been going on.

Capeath following Chardgel's footsteps

Almost confirmed na after You're My Favorite Song na miniseries, maghihiwalay na sina Caprice and Heath sa teleserye. Si Caprice sa A Million Dreams sa drama sa hapon with Clifford tapos si Heath sa primetime with Ruru and Dennis. If gusto ng audience na mapanood sila together, need nila magbayad kasi mukhang sa movies na lang sila magsasama after. This is the same formula na ginawa kina Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez dati. Once lang sila nagsama sa teleserye, the rest movie na.

PITCH: GMA Prime block shifts to a limited series format

Hello! Ako na naman , back again with another unsolicited TV industry thought lol.

What if GMA reimagines the Prime block (formerly Telebabad teleseryes) into a more premium format through limited series?

Imagine this:

  • 8 to 12 episodes only
  • One-hour episodes
  • Airing once or twice a week

Here’s why I think this makes so much sense:

Better storytelling and higher quality
A shorter format forces the story to stay focused, cohesive, and sharp. No unnecessary extensions, repetitive conflicts, or random twists just to keep the show going. We’ve seen so many long-running teleseryes lose momentum midway because the story simply ran out of things to say.

Addresses modern competition
Viewers today are drowning in content—from streaming platforms to social media. Attention spans are shorter and commitment is harder. It’s difficult to invest in a show when you don’t even know how long it’ll run. A limited series solves that problem because viewers know exactly what they’re signing up for.

Allows room for multi-season success
Limited series can still have multiple seasons if the story proves successful and expandable. And honestly, this format gives a franchise more longevity. One weak season won’t automatically ruin the entire series. You always hear people say things like “Season 1 was amazing but Season 2 was weaker,” while still loving the show overall. The risk becomes more isolated instead of one endlessly dragging narrative damaging the whole brand.

Fits changing viewing habits
The daily teleserye format made sense before the rise of VOD and streaming because networks wanted audiences to build routines and avoid forgetting story continuity. But viewing habits have changed. People are busy, and many simply can’t commit to daily viewing anymore. Audiences now prefer watching on their own time, at their own pace. With shorter runs, viewers can easily revisit episodes and follow the story better. Plus, GMA already uploads its series on YouTube anyway.

And this format isn’t even experimental anymore. Hollywood, Korean dramas, and many international productions have been using this model successfully for years. At some point, we have to honestly assess what’s still working and what isn’t.

As for viewers who still enjoy the traditional long-form serye format—especially our nanays and titas—GMA can absolutely continue serving them through Afternoon Prime. That block can retain the daily setup since many of its viewers are at home during the day.

It’s time to elevate local TV storytelling and push our content closer to the level of global competitors.

ICYMI: Dingdong Dantes pays tribute to Baclaran tailors on ‘The Master Cutter’

In his most anticipated comeback on TV, Primetime King Dingdong Dantes takes up arms and shears as a former scout ranger turned tailor on the pilot week of ‘The Master Cutter.’

Dingdong Dantes and co-star Ketchup Eusebio hopped on Kapuso Stream’s gaps to chat with viewers and tease thrilling plot points on Friday, May 15.

Dantes first shared trivia about the name ‘The Master Cutter’ and the importance of this profession.

“[Master cutter] ang nasa likod kung bakit maayos ang tabas at pagtahi at paggawa ng isang damit,” Dantes explained. “It’s a skill na very refined.”

Dantes and Eusebio, who play rival tailors Atoy and Emerson respectively in a small community in Baclaran, gave their respect for real-life tailors and discussed just how grounded the show is in reality.

“Isa pong karangalan ang mag-represent sa inyo,” said Eusebio.

When talking about Baclaran, Dantes recalled the shooting days on location that helped the cast feel immersed in the place and the people there.

“Mahal na mahal natin ang Baclaran,” said Dantes.

He also shared another trivia that ‘The Master Cutter’ director Dominic Zapata is actually from Baclaran and that Joey Marquez’s character on the show, Mang Delfin, is based on a real-life tailor.

“Ang ganda na nabigyan ng buhay ‘yung community na ‘yun at ‘yung industry ng mga mananabas,” Eusebio added.

The two veteran actors gushed about how exciting it is to work with each other again after their last movie together in 2017.

“Ang lupit talga ng acting ng isang Ketchup Eusebio,” praised Dantes about his co-star’s first scene on screen, which brought comedic moments and received positive comments from netizens.

Without spoiling anything, Dantes asked the viewers to tune in to see if Atoy and Emerson will end up becoming allies.

‘The Master Cutter’ is GMA Prime’s newest action-packed series, replacing the epic fantaserye ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.’ It premiered to high ratings on May 11.

Don’t miss all the upcoming thrilling episodes of ‘The Master Cutter’ weeknights, 8 PM, on GMA Prime and Kapuso Stream on YouTube.

Surprised that Bruce Roeland is way younger than I thought

I've been rewatching Mga Batang Riles and part dito si Bruce Roeland as the antagonist and gulat ako na he's still young pala, 2004 liner pala siya so mas bata siya sa akin (1999) hahaha. 2025 yung MBR so about 20 years old siya nun. Second youngest siya kay Anton Vinzon (2007).

Mature and manly na ang features niya and very toned ang katawan compared to some his older peers na mas may youthful na looks like si Allen Ansay or Will Ashley (2002). Bagay naman tho and gwapo pa rin siya so far for me because of that. Malakas s*x appeal and apparently, siya yung naging youngest sa 2024-2025 Bench Body of Work Fashion Show at some point.

Possible CapEath movie soon? 👀🎬

GMA Pictures recently followed both Heath Jornales (@heathjornales) and Caprice Cayetano (@capcaprice) on Instagram 👀

Do you think this could mean a possible CapEath project or movie in the future? 🤍

Honestly, I’m not expecting them to be the main leads yet, feeling ko cameo or supporting roles muna sila if ever. But whatever it is, I’ll still support and watch 🫶

Also super excited for their upcoming shows, especially YMFS ✨ hoping this is just the start for more CapEath projects soon!

Parang magkapatid lang! Caprice and Angel in "A Million Dreams". The upcoming series is also the second show of Caprice as the lead actress.

PITCH: An Encantadia Movie for the Next Installment

What if the next chapter of Encantadia becomes a FULL-BLOWN MOVIE centered on the Bathalumans? Honestly, this could be the biggest thing to happen to local fantasy in years.

Here’s why this would absolutely work:

  1. Encantadia deserves the BIG SCREEN treatment. Imagine seeing Lireo, Hathoria, Adamya, and Sapiro with cinematic-level visuals, massive battle sequences, and world-building that truly feels larger than life. Fantasy is meant to be experienced on the big screen. We’ve honestly never seen a local fantasy film attempt something at this scale before.
  2. A movie format solves one of Encantadia’s biggest challenges: VFX quality. Let’s be real—fantasy worlds are expensive and time-consuming to create. Instead of stretching the budget across 100+ episodes, imagine pouring all that time, effort, and money into one epic two-hour cinematic experience. Mas pulido. Mas engrande. Mas immersive.
  3. Bring back the ORIGINAL four Sang’gres as the central protagonists. Instant goosebumps already. Nostalgia alone would pull audiences in, but this also becomes the perfect bridge to introduce the next generation and set up the future of the franchise. Old fans get rewarded, new fans get hooked.
  4. This could massively revive and expand the franchise. Imagine the hype if the movie becomes a box-office hit, then ends with a jaw-dropping Infinity War-level cliffhanger teasing the next installment. Yung tipong paglabas mo ng sinehan, hindi ka mapapakali kakaisip kung ano’ng mangyayari next.

Honestly, this kind of storytelling setup isn’t even new anymore. Hollywood has already proven that connecting a series directly into a movie event can work incredibly well—like WandaVision leading into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

What do you guys think?
