A quick appreciation post for local craftsmen who keep our stuff alive

I’ve used this bag every single day for over 8 years, but unfortunately, the bottom finally started wearing through. Instead of replacing it, I took it to a local leather craftsman—a lovely older gentleman. For only about 20% of what a brand-new backpack would cost, he fixed it right up by stitching a tough, heavy-duty fabric onto the bottom.
To be honest, I think I actually like it even more now with that color on the bottom!
I’m hoping this will keep it going for many more years to come. And if it ever breaks again, I’ll definitely be taking it right back to a local artisan for another repair.
Do you guys have any examples of awesome repairs that were worth every single penny?
