☕🍳 Our First Meetup Was a Success!
Well... we did it.
What started as two random Redditors meeting for breakfast has now turned into our first official r/KarachiNashtaClub meetup, and it was a huge success—great conversations, plenty of laughs, and an all-around fantastic time.
The venue was Espresso – Tipu Sultan, just as announced. Five people showed up. We were: 23M, 28M, 29M, 29F & 32M.
(Photo attached! 📸 One of our attendees preferred not to be identifiable, so she has been blurred. Another one had to leave a little early, so he isn't in the group photo.)
It was a pretty diverse mix of people, backgrounds, personalities, and interests, with a 10-year age gap between the youngest and oldest attendee. The conversations never really stopped—we jumped from movies to cameras, media, astrology, different cultures, travel, education, careers, life experiences, and somehow still found more things to talk about. Before we knew it, 3–4 hours had flown by, which is the best sign that everyone genuinely enjoyed themselves.
And, most importantly, we all made it home with our organs intact. I checked once I got back—both kidneys are still where they're supposed to be. 😁
It was also great to have the first lady join us at our first-ever meetup. Thank you for trusting the community, and thank you to everyone who helped make the atmosphere welcoming and comfortable. That has always been one of our biggest goals.
This first meetup was intentionally kept simple. We chose a public, comfortable venue where everyone could get to know each other without any pressure. Now that we've broken the ice...
🚀 What's Next?
We've already started talking about future meetups, and there are plenty of ideas on the table.
Breakfasts, chai sessions, cafés, bowling, board games, astronomy nights, road trips, crashing other communities, or just random hangouts—the possibilities are endless. Some meetups might be bigger, some smaller, and sometimes it might just be the same group catching up again.
The goal isn't to make every meetup huge. The goal is simply to build genuine friendships and create a community where people always have someone to grab a chai or meal with.
And to all the ladies reading this—we'd absolutely love to see more of you join us! Our lone female attendee survived being surrounded by four guys this time 😅, but we'd love for future meetups to have more women feel comfortable joining us, so she has some company and doesn't get left out. 😁
If you've been thinking, "Maybe I'll join the next one..."
Take this as your sign. Come along. Bring a friend if you'd like. We'd love to meet you.
Here's to the first meetup of many. ❤️☕🍳
