Apparently I'm a disaster on the blue side

Apparently I'm a disaster on the blue side

It's not an exaggeration, I'm incredibly bad on the blue side. I'm genuinely shocked to see these stats.

I have to say that when I play on the red side I feel more in control of the map than on the blue side, but the difference is still abysmal. I'm truly awful when I play on the blue side lol

What yall think aboout this? my ELO is M-GM

New Player Questions

I’m somewhat new to league (lvl 62 account) and in really enjoying Katarina. From what I’ve read she “loses” lane to most champs that aren’t walking gold like veigar or hwei.

As a new player learning the champ (mastery 5 so far), should I just take Doran’s shield + second wind/bone plating every game? I seem to have a much better experience playing it however I know it’s not the optimal choice most games. It just feels more comfortable.

Also for first items, I haven’t tried AD Katarina and I usually just go gunblade first every time because I love the active. Is there a reason to go lich bane first anymore?

How interested would everyone be in this?

Hello fellow Kat enthusiasts! I'm a long term casual league player. I started in 2010, s2 but took a few years break and have played a lot more since 2016, and maining Kat ever since her big rework. I dont really care for rank, despite playing ranked most of the time, it just doesn't bother me much. Every season before last season I have been rotting in bronze and sometimes silver peaking s1 98 lp around 2020. Last season I swapped to ADC with role quests release and have had a better time playing, hitting gold still mostly casually. Ever since I was younger I've always wanted to be a content creator, starting streaming around age 15 but never really grew an audience so it became an off and on thing. Recently I've been wanting to get back into streaming during my free time as well as I want to actually try to push my rank and see how far I could go. So my idea is to stream my climb of being a bronze stuck casual for 15 years, to try harding and really trying to care about my rank and push it as far as I can go. The games I've added ss of are how I'm currently doing in gold, ik the build isn't optimal that's not what this post is about plz don't fixate on that.

TLDR: I've been playing since 2010, maining Kat since her big rework, and been a hard stick bronze casual most the time, but want to stream me try harding to push my rank after so long of not caring.

Plz lmk if this sounds intriguing to any of you as I'm anxious that I'll try to start streaming again and get disappointed in how bad it goes as I've never had much success before.

EUW/EUNE] Cheap Lane Coaching / Duo – Ex-300LP Master Main Returning

Hey everyone! I am an **ex-300LP Master Tier** player who took a break from the game. I just recently returned to League, and I am currently blasting back up through the ranks.I am looking to take on a few lower-elo students (Iron up to Emerald) for very cheap live VOD reviews or dynamic duo-coaching sessions while I finish my own climb

My Main Mid Champion Pool:🖌️ Hwei (My ultimate versatile blind pick)🪄 LeBlanc (My pocket counter-pick / heavy burst)⚔️ Katarina & Qiyana (High-intensity mechanical skirmishers/assassins)🔮 Orianna (Control mage spacing and team fight scaling)

**My Role Specializations:Mid**, Top, & ADC (Up to Emerald): These are my main lane specialties. I can teach you advanced wave mechanics, trading windows, and carry setups.Jungle & Support (Iron to Gold/Platinum): I can teach you basic pathing, macro tracking, and fundamental map awareness to help you easily escape low elo.

**My Current Stats** (See attached screenshot proof):Rank: Diamond 4 (Blasted from Plat 4 to D4 in just 50 games)

Overall Solo Q Win Rate: 63% Hwei: 75% Win Rate. LeBlanc: 89% Win Rate / 5.03 KDA

Probably could have hit it in 40 games with way higher winrate, but I played a few games with friends for fun and got veeery unlucky matchmaking in emerald 1 (was playing in d2/d1 lobbies)

**What I Can Teach You**:

Drafting & Adaptive Strategy: How to properly structure a versatile blind-pick pool and adapt your rune pages/item builds for late-game scaling.

Map Control & Priority:

How to secure permanent lane priority to open up roam windows and help your jungler secure objectives.

**High-Elo Menta**l: How to stay focused, carry games, and minimize mistakes even when your teammates are soft-inting.Since I am actively building up my new coaching portfolio, my rates are incredibly cheap right now.If you want to stop coin-flipping your games, fix your macro, and learn how to carry your teammates, send me a DM here or add me on Discord: strajakg4

Some crazy things usually happens in Gold

Yes, i dont have 2 itens cuz i sold them rigth before nexus break

And no, im not that good or agressive. Its just that my team couldn't go 3 minutes without fighting. If my map were a little smaller, 80% of the fights would have gone wrong 😭

I swear I got a headache from looking at the map so much during that match.

Buyer Beware of "ACEE1" Katarina Coaching

EDIT: He finally refunded me after I showed PayPal that he had blocked me and refused communication. I'm glad I'm getting my money back, but I worry about future customers who may not be as persistent.

If you ever use PayPal, do not send money as "Friends and Family" when you're paying for a service. Make them Pay the fee and use "Goods and Services" so you have buyer protection. You're purchasing a service, not sending money to a friend.

I have a gut feeling that if I hadn't done anything, he would have just taken the money and run with it.

He tried to scam me out of $100 for coaching, and there's some backstory, so let me get into it.

I found his YouTube channel because I'm a Kayle OTP who was looking for something a little more enjoyable to play. The first red flag was that he wouldn't even schedule a time with me unless I sent the money first. I thought it was a little weird, but I figured maybe he's popular enough that he gets a lot of fake bookings or people wasting his time.

So I sent him $100 through PayPal for a bundle of four coaching sessions. He advertised it as the best way to get the most Katarina information because one hour isn't enough.

About an hour before the session was supposed to start, he was chatting in his Discord. I made a comment saying that you basically have to throw away a split's worth of MMR to learn Katarina because she's such a difficult champion, but that you'll skyrocket the next split because you learn so much through failure. His response was, "I don't know if you're joking or just stupid."

I called him out for that comment and admittedly cursed at him. I guess he didn't appreciate that because he immediately went offline, skipped the coaching session, and stopped responding.

Meanwhile, people in his Discord were making excuses for him, saying things like, "Maybe his house caught fire," or "Maybe he got into a car accident." Maybe he started out as a legitimate coach, but if he didn't like my tone—as he later claimed—then that's fine. Businesses have the right to refuse service. What isn't fine is dodging the session and keeping the money.

I posted in his Discord that I was starting a PayPal refund claim. After that, he messaged me and started trying to act like I was the one who canceled the coaching session so he could win the dispute. He has since blocked me. You can see in the screenshots that he tried to claim I never messaged him that day, even though he had been talking to me less than an hour before the session was supposed to start and had just called me stupid, lol.

I doubt he'll win because PayPal often sides with the buyer in situations like this. I also have screenshots showing what I believe is him trying to gaslight me at the end.

The whole point of this rant isn't actually about the coaching. It's about the integrity that comes with presenting yourself as a successful YouTuber and coach. I own a small computer repair company, and I've dealt with difficult and rude clients before. If someone crosses a line, it's your right to deny service. I don't have a problem with that.

What I do have a problem with is the shady part: avoiding the session, refusing to provide the service, and still expecting to keep the money. That's the issue.

Short hints for kata players

Hey guys, I just hit a new peak rank, and I wanted to leave a message for players who are trying to climb.

I know that most of the streamers you watch play Conqueror Katarina, but you need to understand that they mainly play it, especially the AD version, because they're competing in very high elo where games are often played for the late game.

For most of us regular players, though, games are usually decided much earlier. That's why, if you feel like you can impact the game from the early stages and snowball your lead, I highly recommend Electrocute. It's extremely strong, and a lot of players will instantly FF once they feel the game is already decided.

That's how I managed to climb. I constantly looked for early fights, punished opponents through roaming, and especially punished mistakes in the mid lane.

Another recommendation I'd give is to start E at level 1 and immediately look for an E + auto attack + Ignite trade against champions like Zed, Taliyah, or Syndra. It gives you a surprisingly strong early game. On top of that, if you use Ignite at level 1, you'll usually have it available again around levels 4 or 5, giving you another opportunity to go for an all-in.

These would be my main recommendations.

I know some of you might ignore this advice because people usually only want to listen to players who are 2000+ LP. But you have to understand that high Challenger players often use specific setups to make Katarina viable in their own environment.

For low elo, my recommendation is simple: play Electrocute and be aggressive. Don't play passively. Force opportunities, punish mistakes, and take control of the game early.

What do i do

There are times (not often) when i feel like giving up on Katarina. I have almost 500k mastery on her, but i cant carry, i can’t kill the bruiser with 4 kills, i can’t kill the tank. On top of that i get oneshot by enemy tank or lose to 1/17 yasuo. Idk how you guys do it but i find myself winning lane and then not being able to kill anyone.
