Where to stay: Poros or Lixouri?
I'm looking at suitable accommodation for next year, travelling in September. Two apartments come up again and again. One in Poros, the other on the edge of Lixouri, away from the coast. Yeah, I know that Lixouri is the second-largest town/village and Poros, at least the part along the beach looks a bit dull. I'm not a beach person, not interested in bars and drinking, and will have a rental car from the whole trip. A small supermarket, bakery and a bit of a selection of restaurants is possible in both. Want a flat area along the coast for jogging (got it). For Lixouri I'd be looking out over a large garden, and I love the sound of crickets! On the other hand, the place itself is a lot bigger. Which one of both has the better feeling for staying 2.5 weeks, where you feel like you're not just in a tourist resort, but where it's not too busy and noisy?
