This guy will say he ran out of gas and needed help. Last year, i genuinely thought he needed the gas and was interested in helping. Once I get to the gas station, he says he needs $500 cash and he will give you a fake gold chain for you to keep until he returns the cash. I almost fell for it and today May 19, 2026 I saw him on the same Ramp. I already reported to the PDs. My photos didn't capture plate number.
Few weeks ago I went into Little Caesar’s on Meeker and witnessed customer arguing with employees. The employees were totally in the wrong but it really wasn’t that big of a deal and I kind of respected the employees standing together. I ended up leaving without ordering anything (i took that debacle as a sign to just cook for myself), but I got home and had to read their reviews. I found several complaints but this one has to be my favorite. And they had to add this bad ass pic too. Imagine hating when this pic goes soooo hard.
EDIT: is sarah M downvoting me? it’s not that serious yall. it’s just pizza.
Just want to say the Kent Fred Meyer that used to be on 240th is truly missed.. It also is the only store I can depend on that actually kept on top of there expired products..
People could walk there or relied on the Dart Bus to drop them off there..
People needed there prescriptions and lived nearby it was convenient..
I know it seems I should mention more great things but it's truly truly missed..
Great employees too ❤️😎
After living in Prose Kent this year, and touring several other nice apartments in the area, I wanted to give you guys my ratings on my impressions of them in case someone else is apartment hunting in the future!
Prose - For starters, we moved out not because of apartment itself, it was honestly the best layout of any apartment around. We moved because they increased rent by the maximum amount this past year and also the general vicinity is dangerous. With my wife working night shifts, we no longer feel
comfortable. The adjacent buildings are low income apartments that have cops coming almost every day (domestic violence being the most common) and homeless encampments. Living on Central is also a pain since it gets congested so easily. To get on 167, you also need to make an illegal U-turn.
The apartment itself is very nice, but poorly constructed. It’s entirely wood and living on the fifth floor, it felt like mini earthquakes since any vibration will make the entire apartment shake. Most expensive apartment in the area.
Apartment Quality: 7/10
Safety: 3/10
Price: 1/10
Overall: 4/10
Take these next reviews with less merit. We have toured them thoroughly and done our due diligence, but others who have actually lived here will be able to help out better than me.
Kairos - Just signed a lease here. Honestly super impressed with everything here, and is pretty tucked away from the craziness on Meeker. Security is more responsive, and management seems to know what they’re doing. Expensive but not as much as Prose. The units are smaller and less of that “luxury” feel, but the environment around it as well as its location is just so much better. High hopes for this to be a longer lease than Prose.
Apartment Quality: 6/10
Safety: 8/10
Price: 3/10
Overall: 6/10
ReNew Waters Edge (and the Lakes) - Most apartments here were nice and more budget friendly. It just wasn’t for us, but I could see families loving this area as it is the safest of all places we toured. It is rather dated but probably the best value.
Apartment Quality: 5/10
Safety: 10/10
Price: 7/10
Overall: 7.5/10
Midtown 64 - This is Kairos/Ethos level quality in a much worse part of Meeker. Instead of a golf course and trail view, you’re getting cars, crackheads, and gas stations. It is a bit cheaper but definitely doesn’t feel as safe.
Apartment Quality: 4/10
Safety: 2/10
Price: 6/10
Overall: 4/10
Alexan Gateway - Horrible location, management was unorganized, and parking looks like a nightmare. Best part of this was its vicinity to I5. Next to a crackshack and an RV lot.
Apartment Quality: 4/10
Safety: 3/10
Price: 4/10
Overall: 3/10
I wanna thank you guys for helping my wife and I find our next apartment! I just wanted to share my thoughts after doing my hunt in hopes it’ll help the next Kent resident looking for an apartment.
Cheers!
I’m neuro spicy and looking for a housekeeper or business that can provide additional services to help with things that housekeeping services don’t do. I need help keeping up with my kitchen, dishes and I are not friends, a several visit project organizing my garage (just need someone to help me get the manual labor part done, not just body doubling), and typical housekeeping maintenance services for my living room and bathroom. I do not need a professional organizer, I know what I want and where I want it but need help getting it there. I’m a small business owner that works from home and all my unfinished projects are making it hard for me to work and to relax. If any of you know of this unicorn, please let me know!
I moving from LA to Kent for work. I figured if I wanted to be back in the city I would drive up to Seattle but what is the first thing you recommend to do in Kent? I enjoy anything pretty much. I can be indoors or outside for a hike. I’m looking for recommendations to local dive bars, events, places to hangout or some cool places to take photos.
I figured Reddit is the best place to ask the locals.
Thank you in advance! We are looking in Kent, south renton, and federal way areas.
Hey neighbors!
I’m a local West Coast Swing (WCS) DJ and dance instructor, and I wanted to share an event my friend is hosting at the Kent Commons Community Center next Saturday, May 30th.
If you’ve ever wanted to try WCS (it’s the super smooth, modern version of swing dancing done to pop, R&B, and blues), this is the perfect time to start. You might have seen it on your TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube: “random partner, random song.”
The Details:
• Where: Kent Commons (Crystal Mountain Hall) – 525 4th Ave N.
• When: This Saturday, 05/30
• 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: FREE Absolute Beginner Lesson. Seriously, $0. If you’ve never danced a step in your life, come at 5:00 and it’ll get you moving.
• 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Social Dance.
FAQs:
Do I need a partner? Nope! We rotate in the lesson, so you’ll meet plenty of people.
What do I wear? Just be comfortable. Jeans and sneakers are totally fine (though shoes with a smoother sole make spinning a bit easier!).
Is it awkward? Only for the first 5 minutes then you realize everyone else is just there to have fun and trying something new.
If you decide to come by, please come say hi to my friend and tell her you saw this on Reddit!
Happy to answer any questions in the comments if you're curious about the style or the venue. If you can’t make it in May, I’ll be teaching and DJing on Saturday, June 27! https://rassamy.com/events?category=Kent+Events
The school board is trying to close down as many things as possible so it can run away with spoils. Come by and make your voice heard if you live in the kent area. Students need people not mythical programs that arent ever really there.
Hi everyone,
My wife and I are looking to move out of Prose Kent after living here for about a year, and I wanted to ask for honest opinions on a few apartment communities we’re considering:
Solera Renton Highlands (far but we like the new building)
Ethos / Kairos (we heard Meeker is dangerous / others give mixed opinions)
Island Park / ReNew Waters Edge (Nice, but not really what we were looking for)
ReNew East Hill (haven’t gotten to tour yet, but the general area seemed unideal)
Alexan Gateway (haven’t gotten to tour yet but saw the roads adjacent were very congested getting out)
I know there are no perfect apartments, we just want to make sure we make the right choice. We’d be leaving our third apartment now (after each lease ended) and want a more semipermanent place to call home.
Any others we are missing?
For context, we’re moving because the area around our current apartment has not felt very safe for us. We’ve dealt with people shooting firecrackers nearby, people sneaking in and stealing packages, and the Central Ave area is just super busy and annoying to get in and out of. On top of that, our rent got increased by basically the maximum amount, so we’re ready to leave.
Our biggest priorities are:
Safety: especially feeling safe walking to and from the car. My wife wakes up around 2 AM for work, so this is really important.
A nicer apartment: newer or recently renovated would be ideal, but we care more about safety than luxury.
Community / area: we’re both Asian and grew up around Asian communities/cities, so having good Asian food nearby or a stronger Asian community would be a big plus.
For anyone who has lived at or near any of these apartments, how did you feel about the area? Any issues with car break-ins, package theft, noise, sketchy activity, management, maintenance, or rent increases?
Would you recommend any of these, or are there others nearby that we should consider instead?
Thanks in advance.
I'm not necessarily taking a side about the disputes between Margel, Cook, and Vela, but if this reporting is accurate, this new twist puts me firmly in the 'anti-Vela' camp, regardless of whatever else is going on with the other two. Threatening the district with expensive litigation unless they buy him out of his contract with 600K is absolutely shameful. It feels like Vela is using the thinnest pretext to cash out, and ultimately steal money from children. We have the highest paid superintendent in the area and this is what we get? No loyalty, no effort to explain his position to the public, just take the money and run.
...I PROMISE you that you will never win my business by throwing your business card in my lawn or on my deck.
I've recycled three of these this week alone, from two landscapers and one pest control company. You are not endeared to me. Please stop littering my neighborhood.
Take that money and buy a targeted Facebook ad or Fred Meyer cart ad or something. Sheesh.
if you know anyone looking for an easy part time/full time come to arbor village theyre looking for front desks ! no need to apply online can come fill out an application in person
My wife was driving on 516 today and a piece of gravel from this truck busted our windshield. It has two cracks over a foot long so it is going to need replaced at a cost of $1250. I was wondering if any sleuths might be able to help identify who owns this truck. She got the license plate # and wish she got more of the door because it has the company information. As you can see, the load is over the sides and I hate to pay $1250 because of this. It stings. Any help would be appreciated and have a great weekend!!!
Any bars around here that do a good kareoke night? A couple coworkers and I wanted to go out and have a good time.
