If the Thunder win the championship, is SGA the greatest NBA cat of all time? Is he already?

We’ve got a storied history and to a lesser extent storied NBA history, but what SGA is doing is unprecedented for an ex UK guy. We’ve never had a player win mvp. He’s won 2. In a row. He’s the best player on his team, won the finals MVP last year, and would be a massive favorite for mvp if he wins the championship this year. I just don’t see anyone else in UK history coming close to him in terms of pro-greatness. You’ve got Dan Issel, but he was never a champion and while great, was never the best player in the league. Mashburn, similar good all-star numbers but no ring and not the best of his era (he played with Jordan). Pat Riley’s got an argument if you consider coaching and front office. Frank Ramsey has the rings but was obviously not the best on his team or all-nba talent (though an excellent sixth man). AD has a ring but was second option that year and has never won DPOY despite his great stats. Current and recent cats like Wall, Cousins, Bam, KAT, Booker, etc. have been all-stars but either haven’t got their teams over the hump in the playoffs or had generational talent cut short by injuries. In short, has SGA done enough now to be the BBNBA GOAT? Back-to-back MVPs and possibly back-to-back rings would put him in rarified air and he’s clearly the alpha dog on his team. I think he might already be our GOAT, short as his career has been already.

Jamal Crawford hasn’t turned down a job with Kentucky Basketball just yet

I still don't think he does accept because I doubt he'll uproot his son just for the Kentucky job but this is still neat.

If Moreno stays in the draft…

how we feeling? Who’s out there for pope to get…assuming he can close a deal?

Cherry on top would be Momcilovic withdrawing from the draft only to go to uofl.

2026 AWS NBA Draft Combine anthro measurements for Kentucky’s Malachi Moreno: 6'11 ¼" barefoot, 242.8 pounds with a 7’1 ½" wingspan and 9’3 ½" standing reach

Malachi Moreno is skipping 5 on 5 scrimmages

This is viewed as a bad sign. Generally players only skip if they're 1) injured or 2) have a 1st round guarantee. If Moreno leaves this off-season officially is a dumpster fire

Does anyone think/know if Pope is still recruiting Jamal Crawford for assistant coach?

hoping that after the NBA playoffs end Crawford will seriously consider the position and take the job

How would you feel about things if we land Milan Momcilovic

Title.

It seems Pope and staff have pivoted to recruiting Milan now. We have a lot of solid role players who fit what Pope likes to do as it stands. Milan would be a “star” type of guy to fill out the roster. If Pope locks him in, where does that put the roster in comparison to the competition and how would you feel about things going forward?

I think we are in prime position to be a serious option for his commitment. A lot of the best programs have already gotten their starting 4 man, we have multiple high assist rate players on the roster, we play a high 3pt rate offense that matches Milan’s playstyle, and have the ability to offer the same or more NIL than anyone.

I also think our starting lineup and depth would be pretty great with Milan on the roster as well. To me, the biggest weakness or unknown of our current projected starting lineup is Ndeye so a commitment from Milan would be huge. Imagine a starting 5 of Zoom, Wilkins, Kam, Milan, and Moreno, with Hawthorne, McBride, Jerone, and Ndeye among others off the bench..
